  1. Turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, excellent stuffing (added a little raisen bread) baked sweet potato, fresh brussels sprouts, green beans, cranberry sauce with pecans and orange peel, pumpkin pie, pumpkin cheese cake. Ended it with reruns of West Wing and my Developmental Psychology text. I do miss my family, especially after that moving recital above.
  2. If we could have kept the roster intact from last season I would have said a .300 in the 3 spot would have been nice, Thomas dropping to where he belongs in the order. Now I'm thinking an arm. I do know we do not need any more big, slow, clumsy, guys in the lineup. Basically we are trying to replace Colon and tred water.
  3. draft dodging is such a harsh word. I believe Dan Quayle liked to call it alternative unofficial service to his country. With all the WW2 veterans too old, for the most part, to run we are faced with the Vietnam generation. We will not find a lot of Nixons, Kennedeys, Carters, etc. in that group. By that I reference veterans with straightforward, honorable military service. We elect Presidents with Ivy League educations and from wealthy families. The exact formula to avoid getting your ass shot off 2,000 miles away helping to protect US business interests in some screwed up third world country.
  4. That goof by Kenny will be talked about in Sox lore for hundreds of years.
  5. LMAO We sling so much green around here we should all be Irish Once again I made a witty/sarcastic comment in real life (hard to imagine) when the person looked at me all confused I said "that should have been in green". Nothing like following up a sarcastic comment that wasn't understandable with a totally incomprehensable comment from here. Thank God everyone there thinks I'm a genious.
  6. Well if a little months ago works for you . . . I guess you tried to convinve MissPA that sex is like a polio vacine. One small little prick and you are set for life.

I'll keep using the "would I mind if my mom or kids read this and knew it was from me" filter.
  8. Actually PA at this point is non sexual, he ain't getting any from anyone, male or female so I guess he's back to Mike Jackson and beat it . . . And to tie in another post, he's setting himself up for that whole celebate clergy thing in case of a draft. Very smart guy that PA.
  9. PA, it's too easy, at my age, to say I would fight any fight my government decides is right. By the time we get to needing fat 40 year olds we're screwed man. But I can say I would object to certain perceived enemies and goto option B, whatever that is. Our country is strong because individuals have stood up the government and said what is happening is wrong. I don't believe in fleeing and could almost agree with a one way door. I would not execute them when they returned. I find it amusing that some people will criticize anyone for excercising their free speech against the military by stating the military died for that right. Yeah, they died for my right to free speech and they wouldn't want me using it? Someone has to stand up and question our military. It keeps us from blindly following a Hitler.
  10. The gray area we get into is someone could consciously object to killing a peasant 2,000 miles from our shores because our government is unhappy with that governments idealogy but would not object to killing an enemy in the Port of New York. Look at this from another prospective. A number of years ago Chicago had a horrific month where four innocent kids were murdered in random shootings on their way to or from school. If China decided that those kid's human rights were being violated and decided to commit Troops to Illinois to make sure those kids made it safely to school what would our reaction been? What if Russia decided our elections were wrong because the people in Florida could either mark a ballot properly or couldn't count a ballot properly and came in to create a new government and supervise an orderly transition of power? We have half the world begging for us to help them and the other half thinking we are ass holes for doing it. We think we have a monopoly on morals and intelligence. When all the murders stop in the US, I'll start worrying about the murders in Iraq.
  11. fatal flaw in our quoting system.
  12. And wealth and influence provides options for others. Ultimately the government decides if you are a consciencious objector or not. Seems like an unfair system to me. PA, I'm certain your close friends are glad to know you would murder them in an instant.
  13. oooo southsider it was my first time and it was good. LMAO

No, I've never had a post deleted on any forum at any time.
  15. If all Bush wanted to do was cheer up and motivate the GIs he didn't need pool reporters along. He risked the secret getting out for great publicity. As far as trying to keep their son's or themselves alive, this isn't anything new. We've had people trying to stay out of combat in every war. Vietnam, and to a lesser extent Korea, increase those because the causes didn't seem good enough to die for. Our military is made up primarily of poor, rural minorities. In 20 years, unless we start electing poor, rural minorities to office, we won't have candidates with any military service. The United States has killed more people in war than any other civilization in history. We are a lean mean killin' machine.

I reserve the right to like and dislike anyone, at anytime, regardless of the color of their skin or what God they worship or how thyey like to have sex. That also means I can dislike someone and have it not be because they are Polish, Black, White, or whatever. I really dislike being forced into lying about liking anyone different than me.

BTW Steve, nice take down, was that you in the sig?
  19. PA may be gay. However, since his dating habits involve years of a platonic relationship before making the big move of a kiss, we may never know. I think his overt following of Southsider indicates his normal dating habits. The public tag or outing of Southsider may be PA's desire to test the waters a bit before announcing his true orientation. I noticed he has dropped the picture of the assumed girlfriends from his avatar. Again more indication that he is planning on kissing a boy sometime in 2006 or 2007.
  20. Too bad the framers of the constitution didn't think of that one. We could start a war every once in a while to assure enough future presidents. Also remember our military isn't exactly over flowing with children born with a silver spoon in the mouths. When we had a draft, a lot of parents tried to keep their kids out of the service. Some families had the wealth, contacts, and influence to make it happen. Those parents were both Dems and Reps. There are also individuals that accepted the call to arms and they too, come from both sides of the isle. The all volunteer military isn't exactly swimming in wealth and priveledge. LHow many of those soldiers you see look like they skipped Harvard to sleep in the sand?
  21. Now you'll tell me that Beat It doesn't refer to dancing or leaving
  22. Anyone care to estimate the cost for his campaign trip? How much money was spent that could have gone to help the elderly, the poor, the sick?
