  1. Do y'all mean he should be a sell out and turn his back on his people and his roots? It's what I would do. I'd send money, not myself. I'd also avoid Chicago with all that violence. Miami doesn't seem much better.
  2. The battle is for the casual fan. What we will pejoratively call bandwagon jumpers when the team is winning. The family that goes to one game a year and will decide that is the year to see a Sox game. Who will tune in to see what the excitement is. As hardcore Sox fans, we could help the team by making them feel welcome and hopefully convert them.
  3. I read somewhere that about a million people claim to have been there. Another testimony to the power of the event. I missed out. Even though I was a big Steve Dahl fan I didn't want to fight the crowds. Of course now I wish I went.
  4. Incomparable. ? that's perfect!
  5. Stipends to players ( one size fits all) are a step in the right direction.
  6. What else from the 70s are Sox fans still talking about? It was one of the greatest spectacles in sports promotions. As a franchise don't hide it, don't be embarrassed, grab it and promote it. I like the promo. I'm assuming this is the closest t shirt night to the actual anniversary.
  7. He's the Sox version of Doug Collins.
  8. I am also torn. It feels like we are punishing a company for delivering a product that a billion people use while trying to help crappier companies.
  9. So frustrated with my game now. One of the pros I see all the time because he happens to be the father of two of my players notice I was rolling my wrist and kind of flipping at the ball. I fixed that and gained back about 20 yards and 33% more height on my irons. My hybrids and fairway metals are nice and crisp with a draw. I can't hit a $#^& drive to save my a$$. I mean yesterday I hit three into the woods and four more less than 100 yard rollers. I have no idea what I'm doing with the club. No feel. It's really ugly.
  10. https://deadspin.com/minor-league-benches-clear-after-bunt-breaks-up-no-hitt-1835277217 My traveling coach about chewed my head off for trying to bunt my way on during a no hitter.

Summer vacation for us teachers is almost here. Looks like Chicago for a week -- Sailing the east coast aboard my brother and sister in laws boat for a couple weeks -- picking up our camper in Texas and heading to Colorado for a few weeks -- getting back for the start of my school year in late July. I just noticed I'll be in town for the Future Sox game. Hoping to make it.

Why pay a higher sales tax just because a car is worth more? I guess the theory is allow the poorest a break so they can drive and tax the people who can better afford it.
  13. Hmm, I will be in town.
  14. I wonder who his agent is.
  15. I haven't had much time this spring to follow our high school baseball, my golf team kept me busier than normal. I spoke with one of the coaches here who watched him pitch last year. He remembers thinking this kid will get drafted high and turn pro instead of playing college ball. I'm not certain how to factor this in but our Texas players typically are playing year round and have more experience than a player from the frozen tundra north of the Mason-Dixon line.
  16. I'm starting to really like the 2022 projection for this team.
  17. Check the elephant sketch on YouTube, hilarious.
  18. So his role isn't that important. He can leave the fellows and residents unsupervised while they operate.
  19. Be predictable and always follow the best odds. We really do not need managers anymore, just plug the scenario into the computer and follow the odds. Why do managers overly complicate this? They start looking at the match up. They start thinking about how the players have performed recently. How they do in this stadium, etc. Are they hurting. Is the wind blowing and what direction. Pure stupidity. Millions of data points have already made the decision.
  20. Did he have responsibilities in two different operating rooms at the same time?

Damn, I just watched a "cute cat video"

Amazing. And it doesn't seem like they are finding stiffs to compete against him. The competition seems solid.
  23. Next week I'm coaching my player in the state finals. Going through the practice round with her, and watching how she prepares, I'm learning a lot.
  24. When I read the article I couldn't believe a surgeon would be double booked. It may not have contributed to the outcome of the surgery but it seems wrong. Good for Bobby getting paid.
  25. https://boston.cbslocal.com/2019/05/08/chris-sale-throws-immaculate-inning-9-pitches-all-strikes-vs-orioles/ Seems to have gotten his velocity back.
