Looking at this lineup I realize I don't need a second MLB team to cheer. I'm going all in on the San Antonio Missions. Their AA lineup can't be much worse.

Once again my hometown is a pawn used by a NFL owner to blackmail a city into a new stadium. If my memory is correct here are the other times SA was used Saints after Hurricane Katrina Raiders before Vegas Vikings when SA businessman owned the team. Cardinals before Phoenix We do have a 60,000+ seat arena ready to go. Voters would pass a publicly funded football stadium. They would sell out a lot. The Spurs are well backed.

Let's see what we got and clear out the deadwood. Here's some guys that are last chance types. Let's just get through this season with whatever warm bodies we can find. If we getz a month out of them that's fine, we'll just DFA them and move on. I can easily accept that if I saw a core that's two years away toiling in the system they don't want to rush to Chicago. Mr. Combs you really shouldn't kick and drag people around. But when a President brags about grabbing women by the crotch because he's rich, I imagine it gets confusing.

I understand the need to advertise in any business. And I doubt the "baseball staff" was much involved in this venture to say it's a distraction. But . . . It's sports. Just fucking win. That's way better than any advertising to put butts in the seats and eyeballs on the TV.

My path to catcher was easy. Second day of practice. "Who wants to tryout for catcher?" Four kids threw from home to 2nd. He told me to try on the gear. I never took it off. Nothing fit. I was the skinniest catcher imaginable. I recall wrapping the straps for the shin guards around twice. My bat didn't get me on traveling teams. I'm trying to remember any kid switching to catcher after the age of ten or eleven.

Although this has me thinking. Why are the managers in the dugout? Let's stop with the "he was looking good so we left him in" decisions and be smarter about it. Can't MLB teams have computers in the dugout?
