I believe it's a reasonable expectation for players at this level to arrive knowing the fundamentals that they learned in little league. Basically he's working with guys that need to go back to their tee ball days. I put that 99% on the GM and players. Pedro is being asked to take the worse lineup in baseball and win games. The greatest manager in baseball history isn't going to win 60 games with these guys. Obviously we could use upgrades everywhere, including the manager. I'm going to beat the drum that these guys are not MLB talent and that has to be addressed first before looking at the manager. Firing Pedro would just be another cover up for the fact this organization can't field a MLB lineup. JR has lived by smoke and misdirection. We need MLB level talent. Is Pedro a WS manager? Not now, and he won't be with the Sox. Eventually he has to go.

Because they are bad baseball players for MLB players. No manager is going to make them much better.

Splitting hairs here but I think many of that guys are achieving exactly what should have been expected. They weren't going to achieve much more. Just look behind the plate. He sucks while achieving what most of us expected. But underachieving to MLB standards.

This. We hired a guy that possibly can grow with the team. With this shitty of a roster I'll be happy if I see some improvement each month.

I think everyone wants a manager who says these guys are crap and I have no confidence in them. I think the front office would be really excited to here that level of blunt honesty from their manager.

They would have to be hoping to be the Sox manager for a long time. After maybe winning 40-50 games this year and maybe 60 next what other franchise will hire them? They are going to look bad no matter what they do. These players can't execute. Has any Sox manager managed to stay in baseball after getting fired by the Sox?

Seriously, who is going to take the position? Not anyone with an actual track record. Anyone with any potential knows this is a career killer. It will just be another guy who needs on the job training to grow into the position. I'm also going to assume he's playing the guys the front office wants him to play.
