This is sad. Why can't just once in this corrupt world can we know with certainty that are donations will be put to good use? GROW A F'G CONSCIENCE AND STOP STEALING DONATIONS! Sorry I just had to yell at the people associated with the pocketers. I gave to CC so I'm pretty certain it was used for good. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=Tsuna...G=Google+Search Again choose the source you trust the most.

http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/mlb/stats/ml...2544&statType=1 Sosa's HR's are towering as well.
-
You obviously have not looked at his hit chart: http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/mlb/stats/ml...1188&statType=1 It's tailor-made for Barry & probably few others. Now I'll say this again, look at the chart & look at the distance on his HR's. That's roids. There's no doubt about that. But there's also reason to believe w/out roids he'll still hit the HR's. Just no where near as far. Probably most of his HR's would have stayed in the BP. If you're saying Sosa is .350 OBP w/out roids & .400 OBP w roids that's not a major difference. In Sosa's case you could argue more of his HR's are fly outs because of his lower average & lower OBP preceding his HR years. There just is no one else like Barry in the game today. Now if you want to make the argument he'd be unable to play as much as he did I'll buy that. Barry has basically confessed that much. Without roids he's sitting a lot more than he did. That would have had the biggest impact on his numbers.

MSNBC reported that the courts issued an order directing the FLDCFS to not take Terri into protective custody. Gov Bush has stated he will not violate that order. Terri's last thread is Judge Whittemore's view of Dr. Cheshire's testimony on Terri's state. I'd personally like to see the talk die down concerning the Schiavo Law. This law amounted as nothing more than a tool that can be used by the courts if they see fit to use it. It's that weak. Think of the irony. They rushed a law to save a woman's life & it was never used by the courts to save her life. That's pretty weak in my opinion.

Since you obviously want to know more I will give you the whole story as I recall it: I caught her when she had returned with a stain on her sweater. I said are you ok? She said she was fine. I said did you throw-up? She said how did you know? I said there's a little of it on her blouse. That's when guilt overwhelmed & she confessed. I said you know that can severly damage your esophagus. She said no because I don't wait long enough for it to mix with stomach acid. I said are you aware of acid-reflux? She said no. I said it's a condition with the flap over your stomach sometimes opens up slightly & stomach acid can leak into the esophagus. She said oh. I said don't you think the more you do that the more likely you are to mess that up? She said no. I was hoping she would say yes. I then asked do you do this all the time? She was silent. So I asked do you eat healthy foods? She said yes. Do you keep them down? She said yes. So what made you do what you did? She told me restaurant food makes her fat. I said do you get enough milk, vitamins, fruit, cereal? She said yes. So it's only restaurant food? She said yes. How do you think I feel about that? You're upset. Is that going to make you stop? She was silent again & stopped looking at me. So I said will you promise me one thing? She said what? Will you promise me you will always allow the healthy foods you eat to digest? She said yes. I said as long as I can trust you do to that I won't bother you when we eat out. But I asked two more questions. You know I'm always going to be concerned about you over this right? She said Yes. You also know I'm always going to try to feed you now right? She laughed .. and said yes. I think I was early 20's & she was 20. Needless to say in the months that followed even her restaurant behavior changed. I didn't have to say a word. I would just look at that spot I was looking at the night I caught her & she would say What? Then she would say "I didn't do that." I can't speak for what she did when she went out with friends, but I can say I fed her as often as I could when I was around her. Lots of fruit, lots of salad, lots of veggies, some meat, some fish, & whatever else she would let me. When the subject did come up I did mention to her you should tell your doctor about it. It's not healthy. Sometimes she would remain silent & sometimes she would say ok. You can't force people to do things just because they are the right thing. You have to gradually lead them down that path. We didn't last more than a couple of years but I would like to think I helped her through this. I was fortunate to have caught her.

You need serious help. I've corrected the post already & yet like a boar you have decided to post your own version of it. Here is the corrected post: http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?sh...=400&p=614831 Not all bullemia is the same either. I dated a girl before who would do it only when eating out because calories in restaurant food where much greater than her normal diet. I said as long as I see you eat healthy food & you promise me that you will NOT upchuck the healthy stuff I won't bother you about it. But be rest assured I am going to bother you over healthy foods all the time. The word NOT did not make it into the post the first time. Why? It's a question of bandwidth at the time your typing & the size of your buffer. Sometimes the bandwidth is too small to where characters are flushed from the buffer to the bit bucket. This happens often when you are using the bandwidth for more than just posting to a message board & you are multi-tasking at the same time. I decided to view your posts because someone made reference to you posting a link of a transcript. That was my mistake it is obvious to all it is best I ignore you for the sake of harmony on the board.
-
Dude, I probably have more posts on these boards admitting when I was wrong about something than any one else. Secondly I probably have more posts that include an apology to someone than any one else. Wrt the transcript, I read it. I didn't see any mention of eating disorder or bullemia. But I do agree that they were right on the suit. Is Terri alive & well today if the doctor asks her about her diet & her medical history under those circumstances? I believe the answer is yes. Is that common practice? I don't know, but from personal experiences conveyed to me I believe it is. The hospital records documenting her diet suggest she would not have lied to him. I have to believe that the Dr not only would have talked to her about her diet but I believe he would have advised her to take vitamin supplements. That's what the Dr recommended to someone I know & no her condition was not related to an eating disorder. It was related to bc pills. She had long been off of them & had gotten worried. From the medical history he had learned she smoked & was likewise trying to keep her wt down. This is not the psuedo-bulemic girl I mentioned before. So he recommended to her vitamin supplements. If you are looking for someone to blame I think it falls on all 3. Terri, Michael, & the doctor. Terri's for trying to keep her wt down in a stupid way, Michael for not realizing it, & the doctor for not doing what is common based on the condition she presented him.
-
You need serious help. I noticed the typo after posting it & corrected it right away. Of course any one with a strong sense of logic in terms of linquistics would have realized it made no sense with respect to the typo.

IMO, her attempt at a liquid diet based mostly on iced tea makes the story even sadder. I believe this is probable because of her need to go to the doctor months before her collapse. I have no idea what went on in their home but I wish Terri would have at least adopted a fruit & vegetable diet when she decided to do this. There are few calories that can't be burned off in these foods. There is non-fat milk to still give her calcium that can be burned off. There are even protein shakes with few calories that she can burn off. There were many alternatives to just an iced tea diet for her to keep the wt off.
-
http://www.usatoday.com/news/health/2005-0...-disorder_x.htm Based on the article alone, it's clear that she attempted to keep her wt down with primarily a liquid diet. When she visited the doctor because she had stopped menstruating he failed to take a complete medical history that would have revealed this. The medical records at the hospital confirmed that her diet had been mostly liquid. So there's no question there was an eating disorder. She clearly was not getting the vitamins & minerals she needed daily that are part of the food we eat. The testimony does not include eye-witness account of seeing her forcing the food up her throat. It simply indicates she would often go to the bathroom after eating when out with friends. Many people do that & they are not bullemic. Not all bullemia is the same either.

You missed the point of my post completely. I have a stalker on these boards who does that all the time. Where as you do it in a polite & courteous manner she does it in a vulgar & obnoxious one. When I read her posts I'm reminded of a boar. I simply read the article & listed the claims that were written in it to show you there are two sides to the story & how you can conclude opposite things. Nothing more than that. I've pretty much stayed out of the discussion as to why she is in this condition. I don't believe Michael wanted his wife in this condition & if he could have done anything to prevent it he would have. There is nothing I've read that would lead me to believe anything to the contrary.
-
With all due respect to your ducks, presented in that same article are the claims that Michael was attracted to her after the wt loss, Michael was aware of her struggle with wt loss, the malpractice suit was based on the Dr's influence on her diet, & her Fr believes Michael had some involvement in her heart stoppage. Is it conceivable that Michael put unduly pressure on her with respect to her wt?

Her bullemia was alleged and not conclusively proven or assumed.

Terri has a new thread to life: Whittemore has agreed to hear a new motion filed by the Schindlers. That hearing will commence at 6PM EST. Links to the two doctors who have cast probably the most doubt over Terri's diagnosis: Dr. William Hammesfahr - http://uspolitics.about.com/b/a/155906.htm Dr. William P. Cheshire - http://www.google.com/url?sa=X&oi=news&sta...-home-headlines Dr. Cheshire is the basis for the new motion. - respected Dr at a well-known institution - Director of the Autonomic Reflex Laboratory at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Fla., which specializes in brain and nervous system disorders. - Director of biotech ethics at the Center for Bioethics and Human Dignity in Bannockburn, Ill Detractors: David Magnus (co-director of the Stanford University Center), Dr. Gene Sung, director of the neurocritical care section of USC's department of neurology. Obviously you can see the problem with discrediting this guys opinion. He has the esteemed experience on both the medical & ethical aspects of persons in in-capacitated states. You can not rule out his testimony just because he may be religious. What I found interesting in the article is that neither Magnus nor Sung were willing to say the Dr is wrong. That's a sign that he is well-respected by both. It is unknown whether Cheshire himself will appear before the court tonight.

Now see that's what's wrong with this thread. That's an incredibly mean thing to say about a 41 yr old woman who is being starved to death with the possibility it's against her will. Especially since that has no greater credence than Michael's claim she said she wanted to die. I didn't say likeihood just possibility. Cutting through all the weeds surrounding this case it really comes down to 2 arguments: Right-to-Life: There is enough doubt cast over this case to suggest the possibility that Terri is only in a MCS & that she may not have given her consent to die. Again I just said possibility not likelihood. This case came before the court in 2000 & she has remained in this state for over 4 yrs. What harm will another year or two do? Right-to-Die: The recent doubt is not great enough to sway the court's current position. The recent doubt is not great enough to re-examine the facts of the case. To allow for an extensive review when the court clearly believes the new findings do not warrant an extensive review threaten the proceeding for all future R-t-D cases in both the state of FL & the nation now that this has been elevated to a Federal level. Both are very compelling arguments in my opinion which makes this case so hard to decide. I am glad I am not a judge in this case. There is no such thing as making a decision just for Terri. Every decision has ramifications on pending & future cases. I can imagine the ramification on other contested r-t-d cases if they were to accept the Schindler's appeal. I just wish things had been different. I wish her condition were clear & conclusive as I wish her desire to die was. It's the doubt that makes this case so emotional not just in America but around the world. These are not a silent minority of 40% or so. They are very vocal. I would hope that the procedures surrounding both the determination of R-t-D & an incapacitated person's diagnosis will be changed as a result of this case. Not just in the state of FL but across America. The diagnosis must be dealt with as the most important responibility of the court. No expense should be spared to get it right. Even if that means going out of state for leading experts. The determination of the right in the absence of a living will should likewise be heavily scrutinized. Social norms such as assuming the spouse has a greater interest than the parents should be ignored in that decision. All facts should be considered including any group affiliations a person has in there life that would sway that decision one way or the other. Doubt should be the norm in the absence of a living will and all facts should be starting at 0 with respect to their weight in the case. With respect to infamous Dr Jack K, he did it outside the rule of law & without the approval of the courts. That's why he's in jail.

Maybe this should be another thread but does any one feel that MSNBC is trying to become America's Catholic News network? It seems to me they are spending more time on what the Vatican thinks of all this than any other network. Likewise they are devoting considerable time to stories of people who have faught their way back from diagnosis of MCS & PVS. When you combine that with Scaroborough supporting the Vatican's position on feeding tubes it definitely seems that's the target audience the networks trying to grab.

Good news. The plant is back up & running & the 3% production is not threatened. The BP plant was designed with redundancy. Another area has picked up the loss production of the damaged area.

Dream on! No one would ever vote for that for fear of their ownself being sent there

Whoa! I didn't say the UN gets to decide my fate! I want that right! I demand that right! Globalizing to me is we include procedures around the world as possibilities towards health care. The UN is a cess-pool of corruption. No thank you!

The problem I have with making that leap is that the majority of Bonds HR's are in Covey Bay. That park is tailor made for that player. Roids stretched the distance on those HR's. Without roids he probably still hits them for HR's. So I agree the HR numbers would be down & the SLG numbers would be down but I don't think his other numbers would vary much. I give the park he plays in much more credit than the roids for his success.

I prefer Japan thank you.

That supports my general assertion that religion & science go hand in hand. In general they are both devoted to saving life & searching for universal truth. Its why Catholic priests have a history of playing a role in scientifc development.
-
Expect a hike at the pump above normal at the start of the summer season. That BP refinery provided 3% of the nations oil supply. That shows you how important these refineries are. We definitely need more. No refinery should be responsible for more than 1%.
-
I can't argue there. But in respect to national review board devoted to science & technology pertaining to incapacitated persons I think the chance of demise is minimal. Decisions involving medical science should not be localized. They should be nationalized & globalized.
-
In you mind I imagined not but if your argument held any weight there would be at least one other roid player you could compare him to showing such a demonstrative change in walks as a result of roids. I'm asuming since you can't even name such a player you have no basis other than your opinion to support your argument. You could ask the question if Bonds only hit's 40-50 HR's during those yr's roids-free would teams have still intentionally walked him as many times as they did? I believe the answer is yes. You're making the assumption that w/out roids Barry is hitting fly outs. You can take the other argument that w/out roids Barry is not swinging for the fences as much & he's hitting more doubles & singles.
