Since there are so many heated debates going on in here, I decided to start a fluff thread. Here it goes... Has anyone hoarded any Fanny May/Fanny Farmer candy? If so, what'd you get? I hoarded after the dentist last night (they are/were half a block away from my dentist - it's a conspiracy I tell ya! ). I bought some Fanny Farmer mint-meltaways (they were out of the Fanny May variety of mint-meltaways, a small mixed box, some Colonials and a several large single pack of Fanny May mint meltaways and buttercreams. My freezer is now well stocked.

I can't stand GM products so anything I say would be biased. As for Ford, they are screwing themselves silly here in the good ole USA. They are doing everything to have an excuse to shut down the Mercury line, haven't had a fresh design in awhile (although, I do like the new Mustang - when is that damned thing coming out anyway?) and are more concerned with the other lines they have purchased - jaguar, etc.

I would imagine being a client of Borass that the paycheck they are offering might have something to do with it (I don't know what Detriot is offering, just going on what Borass typically does for his clients).

Everytime I see this quoted, I think of the scene in Monty Python's 'Meaning of Life' where Michael Palin is singing about that subject. Damn it, now I want to continue playing my Monty Python's Meaning of Life computer game (I missed something the first time and couldn't get into to Heaven so I restarted the game and now have completed 4 levels).

Probably a good deal of them are mostly overseas. Most of the cars Brian and I have are pre-1980. I forgot that two of the six I referred to are 1981 and 1986 (but he rebuilt both of those with engines from the late 60s early 70s so whether they started out completely made here, I don't know but I know that they are now).

I'll be putting my house back in order or traveling to see the Cincinatti Cyclones or Wolves play (if they are playing that weekend and near us).

I've never understood the crap Clinton got about that. I can be sure that if anyone at my job started asking me if I was blowing Brian, I'd either lie or tell them to mind their own damned business. The only person that has a right to be truly P.O.'d about the whole thing is Mrs. Clinton and if she isn't why in hell should I be? It's not like Clinton was a moral or religious leader or that it cost the country in life or money - it was a damned BLOWJOB not dropping the bomb on an innocent country or something (this was an example of something bad, not saying a president has done this).

I will be going to the orthodontist within the next month or so to start the process on getting braces. Can anyone tell me what it is like, anything I need to be careful of or ask the dentist about? I am getting a referral instead of just picking a name out of the book, so I should be able to trust the orthodontist.

6 of our cars were made in the late 60s and earlt 70s - nothing after 1971 (I don't think Mercury was making them outta the country then). 1 was in '89 (F-250). And the other two were at least assembled in Michigan.

That happened to my sister. She said she thought about abortion for about a nanosecond. My nephew is 5 1/2 months old now and as healthy and happy as can be. She is having trouble making ends meet because the baby's father is worthless (yes, he is still there, but is a dead beat - why she is still with him is beyond me, but that isn't my decision to make). I realize that she is lucky in the fact that her family is supporting her through this. Then again so did both of her friend's family (they had babies at the same time) and so did my best friend's family when she was pregnant with her first. I am grateful I have never had to decide between abortion, raising the child on my own or adoption. But if I had to, I know I couldn't chose to abort, but that is me and I realize that not every woman feels that way.

Maybe it's also time for CEOs and higher management to reduce their salaries as well. I don't disagree with your statement though.

Manufacturing jobs (which include process engineering, manufacturing engineering, some design and some electrical engineering) are rapidly moving to Mexico and China. My last job moved their manufacturing plant to Mexico and the company I am currently with recently moved their manufacturning to Mexico. My last job has been (and still are) talking about moving some of their manufacturing from Mexico to China. If I knew then what I know now, I would have become an electrician rather than an electrical engineer.
