That's part of the reason I disabled the signatures. That and because I post at work and some of them were (haven't looked in several months) on the border (and some appeared to be) pornagraphic, I really didn't have a choice as I wanted to be able to post during the day.

I liked this quiz and it seemed rather accurate in regards to the candidates I do and do not support.

He received his report card yesterday (and someone else's as well) and... he passed!!!! Yes, he made sure to let me know that he didn't forget about my offer of a steak dinner either.

He was a whiney couldn't get passed the 5th inning type of pitcher. He was decent for the 5 innings you got, but if you tried to stretch him past that point, he blew up. (I do remember once or twice he managed to get to the 8th, but he proceeded to be crap for the next two outings.) I don't wish any harm to him, but I am more than grateful he isn't in the White Sox organization any longer.

I got 43% for John Kerry.

And people who stay in a marriage 'because of the children' often do more harm than good to the children. I really do not want the government to tell me what to do with my private life and I can't imagine the need to 'advertise' marriage. Where, exactly, is all this money (a billion here, a billion there) going to come from if taxes are being cut?

I know she didn't, but it was a really uncomfortable situation for him.

They're hard up for pitching, aren't they?

NHL Center Ice - Free Preview this week
Queen Prawn replied to SAVVY18's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
The price has gone up since it was available to me. If there is an NHL next year (or the year after) we plan on getting the NHL Center Ice package if it is available. -
NHL Center Ice - Free Preview this week

And damn it I have broadband (cheap-ass fiance of mine). When I had comcast digital cable in my apartment I got the free preview and I really enjoyed it. We are planning to get a W.O.W. package of digital cable and cable/DSL internet (which ever it is that they offer) soon, but aparently not soon enough. -
My brother managed to do something similar to 420. Guess it isn't too difficult when you have income and no bills to pay.

That's a good one. Another one that I like is the 'missing poster' they did for the year after they lost the cup - Missing - 1 Calder Cup. Another good one is the ad they ran for season tickets the year after they won it. They listed all that you get when you order season tickets and the last thing mentioned is, "championship team included." I also remember one with their head coach in a kitchen (or something like that) and a few of the players wander in...can't remember more of it than that (I think this was from their inaugural season in the AHL).

When I started college I worked as a tutor and night manager at a local grocery store. About mid-way through I was hired on as a co-op student at a research facility. Now (3 years since graduation), I am an applications engineer at a electrical component company.

That really does prove the theory you mentioned kapkomet!

I thought the reasons for roman's ban were quite a bit more serious than the reason's for wsc...

Another set of good commercials are the ones for the Chicago Wolves. Those are creative and funny - can the Sox PR people use the Wolves' marketing people?!

That's one of my all-time favorites.

I can't believe his dad is disowning him over this. Yeah, the kid did a really stupid thing, but he is his flesh and blood.

That's a really cruel thing to do to a recovering alcoholic. A few years ago, my aunt (mom's sister) invited my dad's brother to Thanksgiving dinner. My father and uncle are both recovering alcoholics. She offered them wine. My uncle has yet to go to accept another Thanksgiving invite. (My dad just laughed it off.)

Lewd noises heard on the PA at O'Hare Are they using the same frequency as the Burger King drive thru?

This was something that was brought up in the other post. I mentioned something similar - the expensive dinners, new(er) cars every year or two for the priest and lavish living quarters. The mansion for the Cardinal is something I have never understood myself. My great aunt passed away at the age of 101 two years ago - she became a nun at the age of 18 (I believe 18 was the age my mom told me). She lived the life of poverty. Whe she died, she had religious statues and cards that she received through her life and a few articles of clothing, that was it. She was a principle at Lourdes high school, taught in some other schools and did many other things while in the convent. She mentioned a few times that being a nun now-a-days is too similar to being in a soroity - she was vehemently against nuns being able to wear everyday clothing rather than a habit and having/sharing apartments rather than living in a convent. Ditto. For me, the sex abuse scandals were the last straw on the camel's back, so to speak.

This is my last post on this subject (famous last words). I've known several people who were sexual abused as children. The way the clergy/admin in the Catholic Church have handled this is laughable. I admire you for being able to have faith and belief in this church but after seeing, first hand, how the victims have been treated, I have nil (which is not to say I don't belive in God). One of the past Sox players' was a victim of priest and he managed to hold his faith. All I can say is I wish I had his strength, but after seeing the effects of this particular crime and the lack of what has been done (at least in the Chicago/midwest area), I can't follow a church that teaches "Do as I say, not as I do." But, I do commend those that can see it differently. I also noticed that it only took about 10 years to get to this point and inspite of evidence of crimes it is noteable that he walks away with fines. If they are serious about cracking down, why didn't they turn over the evidence to the police?

Thats what, 1 out of how many priests? It's a start, but only that, a start.

Exactly what I was saying - the defense showed up every three plays or so and then stood around scratching their ass. I still stand by a comment I made yesterday at WSI that I got blasted for: 'Neither team seemed to really want it.' It's either they didn't seem to want it or they were trying too hard, but to give up a first down after 4th and 26, says they just didn't want it enough. GO PATS!!!! GO PANTHERS!!!
