  1. I have Cingular (for 5 or 6 years now - from Cellular 1 to Cingular Wireless) and I swear by Nokia phones. I tried an Ericcson once and it sucked ass (so does their customer support group). Never had much of a problem from Cingular or Nokia.
  2. Since this son is at least 14, if he wants it changed, why not let him? He is suffering for his dad's choice, not right.

    Brrrrr....

Brian's sister's cat likes to talk as well. Hamsters don't talk much unless you sit on them or they are little and scared of the dark/being by themselves in a big ole cage. It's really cool when they learn their names, like the one in my avatar - Stinkus. She sends me off to work and welcomes me home - she took over for Stinky Butt when he died in October. Stinky Butt II seems to be in at a teenager type stage, but he still likes to play (as long as you give him a treat or three). Having a lil baby hamster is cool too. Fuzziwig is maybe two months old (we bought him on Christmas Eve). Watching him figure out how to use the 'stuffing' to make a bed is fun and yesterday he learned how to use his teeth - OUCH! After nipping at my finger, he decided my nose looked tasty, stopped him just in time.
  4. I think it stinks, but for different reasons. I don't know if the same rules to entering the country exist today as they did back in 1971, but there are rules to entering legal and they should be abided by all who wish to enter, and if you don't, you go back. My dad had to wait 6 years to get here, and was almost sent back right away because his original sponsor didn't show up at the airport. He followed the rules to a 'T.' Why should someone else be able to skirt the rules because their country is closer than his?
  5. Yes they have. I came really close to moving to Ireland when I graduated college.
  6. My dad is from Ireland and says the same thing about education. I often hear it said that people between the ages of 18-25 don't vote. Granted I am 27 now, but when I was in that age bracket and even the people that I now know that are in that age bracket all vote and never miss an election. Then again, this is one small portion of the country.
  7. So basically, same news, different day.
  8. If the community service clause was included in a draft, then I would have no problem with it. Otherwise, not in a million years would I support a draft.
  9. I want his formula for increasing the number of hours in a day!!! Didn't know that, but I do know each job takes up a considerable amount of time.
  10. If you are poor, the military is not the only way to go to college. I grew up dirt poor (yes, I ate government butter and cheese growing up for a time) and I managed to put myself through college earning a degree in engineering. Yes, I am still paying off student loans (about 3-4 years left), but there are consequences to every choice.
  11. I was surprised by it as well. I wonder who will be dealing with his NASCAR team while he is coaching...

    WillieStoke in Love

Brian and I met at yahoo personals...but if you ask his family or friends we met at a party (my family and friends know where we really met).
  13. I don't disagree. I just wonder if he isn't admitting to something he didn't do to get where he wants to go, sort of an 'end justifies the means' approach to his 'problem.'
  14. I heard that your teeth couldn't be too messed up to get trays. my need a good bit of straightening and moving. (They were squished by my wisdom teeth and didn't unsquish as much as the dentist thought they would). If they are a financial and physical possibility, I will definitely look into them.
  15. I am completely against a draft.
  16. I don't know how many times I've either had to swerve to avoid someone not paying attention because they are engrossed in their phone conversation or had to maneuver to get around someone doing about 30 on the expressway because they are too busy with their damn phone.
  17. lol I have to make sure to get the clear kind. It would suck to wear metal braces when I get married...
  18. I'll be damned - my family moved to 60th pl and springfield when I was 16. They still live there, but I moved out about 3 years ago. Agree with the assesment on the neighborhood.
  19. That was a great discussion too! So he did end up dumping the land, huh? I think the guy that's building next to me is gonna get about half done and run out of money. No bites on any of the 6 yet and supposedly he's running tight. The land owner/builder seems nice enough, but I think he might have bitten off more than he can chew with this.

    A Racy Poll....

Am I the only one biting a lip to keep from making a comment? (Yes, I understand that's why that particular smilie was used... )
  21. Easy pick for me -> Patriots! I get to see my Canes Thursday (supposedly on ESPN or ESPN2) so I will be happy with that (yes, I know they will probably lose, the lack of offense is killing them).
  22. I was doing my senior engineering project in school when that happened. Our professor, "See what happens when you get partial credit on a wrong answer!"
