  1. They are honoring the Negro Leagues and living Negro League players.
  2. This is exactly right. The Cardinals have all but sealed up the NL Central. All they have to do is show up and the division is essentially there's...if they play .500 baseball, they should win(because by playing .500 baseball, they are forcing the Cubs to win about 42 of 62, which, even for the greatest of teams, is not easy)
  3. Guys, how good of a prospect is Murton? Epstein said he was disappointed in giving up Murton...was that just him sugar coating this or is Murton actually a decent prospect.
  4. This is why we made the move... Esteban's W-L and ERA since June 1 - 3-2 6.04 Contreras's W-L and ERA since June 1 - 6-3 5.01 The ERA is not nearly as good, but it is an entire run lower, which is worth something. That and the fact that he actually has better stuff then Esteban. I love the move.
  5. Well no one's saying that deal is dead. If both Loaiza and Contreras pass through waivers, and the other players do too, we could still get him...just gotta talk Contreras into coming here. I think I would have liked that deal...Contreras can be a solid pitcher.
  6. There's two problems with that logic. First of all, that was just the non-waiver trading deadline. Now the waiver period comes, and trades can still be made. Second problem is that we still have August and September left to play. Season ain't quite over yet.
  7. YOU CAN PUT IT ON THE BOARD, YEEESSSSS!
  8. Holy s*** CJs a little b****. Now who do they get to catch for them?
  9. LMAO...Scott Radinsky, Wayne Edwards, and Adam Peterson were all above Thomas in 1990. I think we all saw how that turned out.
  10. I'm not informed on this at all, but a total guess of mine would be Valentin and Loaiza for Lowe and Garciaparra(with some prospects probably being thrown in here or there) Valentin is not as good as Garciaparra...you can know nothing about baseball and still know that...however, Valentin would be more easily resigned then Garciaparra. Loaiza has been better then Lowe this year...personally, I would almost prefer to have Lowe. If that were the deal, I would do it in a heartbeat.
  11. Or is he asking himself is Lidle/Wilson/Armas/anyone else any worse then Loaiza? I know one thing for sure, I would love to be a fly on the wall in the room KW is making these calls from.
  12. Well, duh, ozzie's obviously Gord Ash.
  13. I don't think anyone would ever think that. Atleast he's more reasonable then Shuf.
  14. Does this mean he's trying to upgrade the team, or that he's selling away potential FA's?
  15. Thank you This team isn't playing worth a damn right now...but this is probably not even the worst Sox team within the past 5-10 years. I will say that this is the streakiest team I have ever seen though...even more so then in the past couple years.
  16. As of right now...probably not. The lineup we are running out daily sucks ass. However, I think if we can get Maggs and/or Frank back, we have a shot. Maggs has a big time bat and can be a very good hitter, and if we had that for the postseason, we could go places. If Thomas comes back, we have a guy with all kinds of power and has a very good eye...with that, we become a better team. If we get both back, I have no doubt we can compete with them. Rowand - CF Lee - LF Maggs - RF Thomas - DH Valentin - SS Konerko - 1B Uribe/Harris - 2B Crede - 3B Alomar-Burke-Davis - C with Everett on the bench is very solid and can hit with anyone. Compare that lineup to the s*** lineup we run out there day in and day out.
  17. I've always liked Cruz. He could be a good fit, especially in our ballpark.
  18. 4:00. Dumb, if you ask me. Should be midnight.

    Don't say boobs either.
  20. Because Beltran would look real f***ing good in a Sox uni about right now, and, quite frankly, I really do not care the cost, so long as we are not crippled for the future. If they want Sweeney, I say give him. He may be a future 40-50 homer guy, but this team needs a f***ing spark, and it won't come from Joe Bo...nothing against him.
