Where'd the fat Bartolo go that was taking swings last week? Something fishy is going on..... That is most definately life-o-suction or however the hell you spell it....is it lip-o-suction of something like that? I never really bothered looking up the spelling of the word.

Tune into SnR now for live coverage unsensored!

RPS SUCKS!!! RPS SUCKS!!! RPS SUCKS!!!!! RPS was the cause of our woes last year!!! Notice how he lost like the last 30 times he broadcasted last year? LOL! Really, RPS. Do the Sox right, and have Heather Lee broadcast in replacement of you!!! And we'll forever call it "Heather Roll!" Ahhhh, I like the sound of that!!! s***....then we wouldn't hear the end of how Carlos is so hot and how Carlos needs to be kept and how is MVP....and s*** like that. -
Whoa man, lets not get too crazy here. A loss of one pitcher won't kill a team. Especially a team with the kind of heart the Twins have (I didn't like saying it but it's true). I'm not talking about just losing Milton....with the way we improved our team this offseason, I already felt the division was all but won....though I hadn't entirely ruined out the Twins. They replaced Jackson with Fetters(and coincidentally, I believe Arizona signed Mike Jackson....so the Twins and DBacks basically traded Jackson and Fetters)...and I don't expect either Guardado or Hawkins to have the success they had last year....Guardado seemed to get real lucky a couple times....he'd either get a nice defensive play or he'd get a bad hitter up at the right time or something like that. And you can't ignore Hawkins near 2.00 WHIP and his 5.97 ERA in 2001....and then when he improves those numbers to about a 1.20 WHIP and a 2.30 ERA....I don't know of any guy, other than a very young pitcher, making that kind of a change. And Hawkins isn't a young guy like that. He might be a late-bloomer...but I wouldn't count on it. Their starting rotation is better because Santana is moved to the rotation....and that's where the positive ends. Losing players to the DL always hurts teams emotionally....because it isn't the same, and you never want to see your players go down with injuries. Because they lose an incredibly talented pitcher in Santana to the rotation, their bullpen will suffer....because Jose Rodriguez isn't that good, and Juan Rincon isn't that good. And even some players in their everyday lineup are coming off careers years....AJ Pierzynski, Jacque Jones, Dustan Mohr...and that's about it. Playing with heart can get you a lot....but it can't get you everything. The Sox are younger, better, and will play with heart....they have improved coaching this year than in years's past, they will have better team chemistry, their starting ptiching is imroved, their bullpen is improved, the lineup is improved, the bench is improved.....everything is much improved when compared to last year's opening day roster. As I said....the Twinkies are in some real deep s***....almost as though they have no shot.

I got another idea of a poll that should be made. Which is more likely to happen....the Sox winning 173 games, Carlos, Konerko, Maggs and Thomas all hitting 50 homers, or Carlos not getting picked off for a whole season?
-
No pitcher is the same a year after rotator cuff surgery. Not even a LOOGY as Cerb likes to call them. Wunsch has been pretty damn sharp this spring....it's better than last year, when he couldn't even pitch during spring.

I know you haven't forgotten who we're dealing with here Baggs. JR is reluctant to sign MB, who has won 35 games for us over two seasons. JR is in no rush to sign Colon longterm..... especially since he has yet to win one game in a White Sox uniform. Sign MB first, then Colon. And, some may think I'm crazy for thinking this, but I think alot of whether or not JR will be willing to sign Colon longterm later on this season will have to do with how one Jon Garland pitches. Think about it..... if he can win 15+, we have the second best 1,2,3 in baseball (Yankees). He loses and is, again, inconsistent, you know the rest of the story..... Killa....I agree with what you say, except that the Yanks have the best 1-2-3 punch in the league. I personally feel their 1-2-3 isn't that great....and that even now we have a better 1-2-3 than them. I'd say Oakland's is the best....and after that, I am clueless. Boston could be, with Lowe, Pedro and Wakefield....if Garland pitches awesome(and he very well could), we could have it....if Radke, Santana(taking Milton's spot) and Mays produce like they did in 01...they could....Seattle could be, New York might be(but I don't think so)....it's tough after that. But Oakland most definately has the best, IMO. When you get 3 pitchers that young and that good on your team....you got something special. If the A's can sign those guys and keep them in Oak-town....holy s***. Watch out....Oakland could be good for quite a few years.
-
I hope you didn't say the same thing when Sweet Lou went to Seattle. The DRays have a ton of young talent....and they actually reminded me a bit of the 1999 Twins. Three years later...the Twins were playing in the ALCS. I'm not saying that the DRays will make it to the ALCS in 3 years....but they'll be a much better team in 3 years.
-
If we signed him mid-season....we would have him for an extra year.....because he'd finish out his contract for the year, and then we'd have him for the 4 years. If we signed him to a 4-year deal like right now....we'd have him for the next 4 years....why would we do that when we have him for the next 4 years guaranteed anyways?
-
Uh yeah....why take the risk? Get Colon signed long term atleast at midseason, and Buehrle in the same time period as well. And if Thomas has a good year...I wouldn't even f*** around with his mutual options. I'd lock him up as well. We'll also have to look at Maggs before too long as well....I can't frickin believe he'll make $14 mill in 2004....that's huge, and too damn much in the new CBA....he'd have to be in the top friggin 10(unincluding Yankees)
-
I can attribute all of these "trade Lee" ideas to SNR and their "Homey the Clown" shinanigans!!! I try to explain to RPS and Guido the benefits of having a CubKilla like CLee on the team and then his dumbass gets picked off at 3rd with less than 2 outs right after my pro-Caballo spiel. CLee doesn't make it easy on us Heather Last time I checked....the last time we played the Cubs in the regular season....Thomas hit one in that series against Boy Wonder that hasn't landed yet. Lee ain't the only Cub killer on the Sox.
-
Hey.....rambling on and on isn't necessarily a bad thing.
-
Yeah, Porzio is pretty much done....that's basically what I thought after today.
-
cw....you always ramble on and on
-
That frees up $5 mill more....so they either have to go with the OL in the first round, or a good DL. I also believe they signed like Marcus Jones or someone like that last year that was cut by the Bucs because he got hurt....Donahue told him to get better and get readay to play 100% and be back next year....that is a good move to make. I'm just not familiar with many of their receivers....after Moulds and Reed....I'm not sure who is after that. I'd say their WR crew is a little thin too. They got a good secondary though...some good players in there. I guess that'd be it
-
I agree - and now maybe Porzio is out. I want to see Kelly on our opening day roster - the only pitcher we still have from the 2000 team - Not entirely true cw....Buehrle was on the team for atleast part of the year....I know from about July 19th or 20th on(because I got to see his first career win, and I believe that was also his first career start....hehe ). And Garland was on the team for a little....however, his 6.00+ ERA from that year is nothing to write home about. Otherwise....you're right on.
-
Their bullpen now has Romero, Hawkins, Guardado, Fiore and probably Fetters in it with some other no-name(maybe like Juan Rincon or Jose Rodriguez). The Twinkies are in some real deep s***.....almost as though they have no shot
-
Actually....I can't remember for sure, but off the top of my head, didn't Foulke only save 34 games or so in 2000, and then like 42 in 01? Anyways, I voted for cycle...and if we could vote twice, I'd vote for a no-no too....we got 4 guys who, when pitch they have their A game, could all give up very few hits....Buehrle threw a 1-hitter against Tampa in 01, Garland gave up 1 hit through 8 against Boston last year, and Wright only gave up like 5 hits against Texas once last year(not that great....but it's decent and is kind of close atleast). I could see Colon, Buehrle and Garland complimenting each other very well....and it was nice to see Jon throw the ball well today again. He's gonna be a hell of a pitcher
-
f***in s***....they atleast could have gotten more than a first round pick(23rd overall)....maybe a 6th and/or 7th round pick too....god dammit. Oh well....now I get to see more Josh Reed...he's gonna be the second best receiver in Bills history with the last name of Reed.....and as long as the Bills get a stud on defense, I'm OK with the move, I guess. Watch out for the Falcons next year...they are going to kick some serious f***in ass. They'll probably win the whole f***in thing. For what it's worth...the Bills also agreed to terms with Takeo Spikes....and now they have to hope Cinci can't match the offer or that they don't even try to match the offer. He's good
-
How many multi-home run games do you think...
witesoxfan replied to BridgeportHeather's topic in Pale Hose Talk
haha...I got the only 25+ vote so far -
I'll have to catch some of that....let's hope we play well.
-
I hope this gets better....because elbow problems suck ass. Just ask Joe Mays and his 5.38 or whatever ERA he had last year....a year after having a 3.17 ERA. Atleast we have Rauch, Loaiza, Stewart, and Heredia....they'd be suitable replacements in the #4 slot.
-
...and in 7 1/2 months, we will be crowning the 2003 Chicago White Sox as WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS!!! Heather....you sound like a frickin Cubs fan! I hope you're right though....that would be sweet as hell. I am personally looking for an ALCS birth....but hey, we could get lucky.
-
It hasn't been brought up yet....but we had as many runs(2) as the Padres did hits(2). How often do you see a 2-hitter in Arizona in March from any team?
-
We are not in dire need of a guy that gets a lot of walks.....we have a guy in Thomas that even in a bad year will draw 100+ walks....and sometimes over 120 walks. Maggs will draw 60-80, Konerko will draw 30-50, Jimenez will draw probably 50-70 or somewhere in that range, Valentin 50, Rowand 40-50, Crede 30-40, Olivo 30-40....and then the bench will probably draw 150+. And with the way this team could potentially hit....we don't need to make our OBP any bigger(not that a big OBP is a bad thing). What we are in dire need of is some good head management....we could use a much better GM and a much better manager....but no team can be perfect. What year's HASN'T Carlos been on pace to have a career year? Carlos is expendable....and I hope we trade him.
