  1. Exactly.....people don't realize that 20 degrees or a temp in that area isn't that cold...hell, I could do the same as you....all it takes is a little running around, and you're fine. I figure when you were hitting that if you got jammed it would hurt like a mofo. Did you ever get jammed?

    Bears

I'm sure the Bills would be happy to trade Peerless Price to the Bears for their first round pick and then maybe a later pick as well. All I know is that the Bills are looking to trade Price....or so I've read.
  3. Well, since he's breaking the height barrier for pitchers, we'll have to wait and see how a 6'11 guy can fare in the majors. Hopefully for the Sox (and us) he will pass with flying colors. I've seen how a 6'10" guy(Randy Johnson) fairs in the majors. I'm just assuming Rauch will be able to put up good numbers...but not necessarily RJ numbers. And with the curve ball he has...and it coming from his height....it is wicked. And his fastball looks faster coming from higher up as well...and I believe he also knows how to use the stuff he has effectively(like Buehrle)....I'd look for him to be a surprise this year(assuming he makes the roster)....maybe put up a 10-10 4.00 year or something to the extent.
  4. Curt Schilling had an ERA of 9.00+ last year, yet still went on to finish second in the Cy Young race. There is the thin air factor(pitches do not break as much) and you never know when a guy is working on something....how do you know that Dan isn't trying to work on a new pitch...maybe trying to use a slider or try to improve his slider if he has one....maybe trying to work on his windup....maybe he is just rusty from not pitching in about 5 months. Wright will make the roster...Rowand will too....his versatility in the OF is nice, even if he doesn't start, and Borchard does....if that is the case, than Harris is sent down. Quite simple. Also....I'd expect Paul to be put on waivers, and if someone claims him....that's no big deal. Why do you think that KW signed those two catchers to minor league deals in the offseason(Burke and that other one....can't remember his name)? We aren't strong at catcher.....but we aren't as weak as some people think. I'm not a big fan of KW....but he is starting to get the hang of his job.
  5. Top 10 bulls***....they'd have to hope everything went right, and then it would be 7 or 8 at best. I believe Wood, Clement and Prior will all be good....Zambrano, regardless of stuff, will put up a season where he wins 10-12 games with a 4.50 ERA, and the #5 starter will suck(regardless of who it is). At this point in the game, I like our rotation over the Cubs rotation.....Buehrle and Colon are atleast equal to, if not better than Wood and Clement, Garland and Prior are pretty equal, though Prior will probably be better, Wright is probably going to be better and throw more innings than Zambrano, and Rauch and whoever the Cubs use in their #5 slot(whether it be Sirotka, Cruz, or Estes) will be atleast equal....and I suppose Rauch could probably be better....quite easily too. When you are 6'11" and you have real good stuff....you got a good shot at winning some ballgames.

    Great quote...

Keith Olberman is the funniest sports guy around....he and Dan Patrick on Sportscenter were awesome....Patrick hasn't been the same since he left.

    Guys, bad news

I've been depressed at times.....thinking about moving and other s*** as well....it really sucks. It seems like time just barely moves along. It really does suck...I know I just constantly thought about stuff....not like suicide or any sick stuff like that....but just stuff....random thoughts. I really think that listening to music helps it a lot...any type of music at all. You could listen to rap that talks about gangs and drugs and shooting people and what not...and you'd still get better. Anways....wsc....get better man....just think that White Sox baseball is less then 4 weeks away! That should cheer anyone up(unless, of course, you are a Twins fan....their days of reigning division champ are dwindling)
  8. The Simpsons still kicks ass....and Malcolm in the Middle is a pretty good show too. Fox just doesn't know how to make a good reality show....they should drop that idea. I like the 70s show too. The only reality show I've ever watched has been Survivor...and that was the first one. I have promised myself that I would never watch that damn show again until they went somewhere cold....the pussies think hanging around half naked in a jungle is hard....wait until they have to live in weather where the temperature is like around 10 and even lower than that, with the wind chill getting to like -20 degrees and blowing right in your face each direction you turn....and then see them run around half naked. Most of the people in the southern states think cold is like 20 degrees....though it isn't always smart, I can run around with a t-shirt on in 20 degree weather...and not get affected. Hell, just the other day it was like 10 degrees out....and I was going around with a hoodie and blue jeans on....no coat, hat, gloves...etc. And I was fine. They just seem arrogant....but I then have to realize these people are used to 60 and 70 degree weather all year long. Lucky bastards. Anyways....these reality shows by Fox blow.....I know I said that once already...but they do. I'm a fan of both CSI shows that CBS puts out though....that's some pretty neat s***.
  9. FYI....he could hit more than 20-30.....I'm thinking he could possibly hit 40 or more, if he got real hot....but something in between 30-40 is likely as well. We all looked at his winter ball stats and shrugged....like .243 1 15.....and then he does THIS is ST.....I'll never be on to judge a player based on winter ball stats. Rowand maybe end up being the 4th OFer after all.....not a bad thing, as long as he starts consistently(like 4 starts a week or so). What I really like about Borchard is the fact that he is a switch hitter with equal power from both sides of the plate....a threat to go deep at any time. Against righties...our lineup should probably be Thomas, Ordonez, Konerko, Borchard, Lee....but Manuel will probably find a way to f*** that up. And if my wish...I mean prediction comes true and CLee is dealt at the deadline....we are looking at Thomas, Ordonez, Borchard, Konerko, Daubach.....that is R-R-S-R-L...that is awesome. And if Borchard produces like he can....we are in very good shape to do some major damage and go deep into the postseason.
  10. But he did help Buehrle get where he is today...along with Nardi. Both played big roles in Buehrle's success....along with Buehrle himself doing some too. Do not deny the truth. He did call Thomas out....but he was trying to be the team leader and doing the team leader's job...when he wasn't the team leader. Thomas was unhappy about Wells's comments and said a few not-so-nice things about Wells. The two then talked and agreed to put it in the past later...so they're all good now. What I don't like is that he sucked for us....going like 5-7 4.58 or something like that....but what I don't like even more is the fact that we could have resigned him last year for 2-years and probably less then the $7 mill he got from the Yanks(remember, this is also the same guy that took some shots at Cleveland as well, saying he'd never pitch for them and that Cleveland as a city sucks...I believe anyways). I know that I'd rather have had Wells than Ritchie last year, and I'd have to make a choice between Rauch and Wells. I don't like the guy's attitude....but the fact that he said he wanted to return to us shows that he wanted to improve and help this team win....and KW denied him....and then he traded Wells, Fogg, and Lowe for Ritchie....I'd say Wells got the last laugh. Had we resigned Wells...we would have possibly had a rotation of Buehrle, DWells, KWells, Garland, Wright last year....I like that a hell of a lot more than Buehrle, Ritchie, Garland, Wright, and a very unpolished, 80% healthy at most Jon Rauch. Then again....I don't like it as much as Buehrle, Colon, Garland, Wright and a more polished, 95% healthy Jon Rauch.....who knows. Maybe, had we kept Kipper, we would have traded him and some others to Montreal for Colon and company....without even having to deal with the Yanks. But then we'd still have Osuna.....eh. I don't know....hindsight is 20-20....but it's never clear how it would have happened. All I know is that is ALL in the past and we are looking at the most talented team in the majors in front of our very eyes. And cw.....you said... Come on.....I don't think Wells has to try to make himself look big....he already does!
  11. Is Borchard a true CF? How would you rate his defensive abilities to Rowand? HSC has said that he is good and CF is his natural position. And he has a cannon of an arm as well. He has better range than it looks like he'd have....but I'm guessing no range like a superstar defensively. I'd guess he'd probably be a mediocre defensive CF in the majors.
  12. Harris is a backup CFer....with Rios as the 5th in that case. Harris should be guaranteed a spot out of ST on the bench....and no, Miles speed does not compare to Harris's....then again, not many people in the organization can be compared to Harris, speed-wise....if he had a .360 OBP, he could steal a lot of bases.....possibly 50+
  13. He better be or else this team is really, really screwed. Well, he performed really well with us this past year and I think he can do it again. From last year, his fullseason stats would be like 116 runs and a decent amount of homeruns and RBIs for a leadoff hitter. But those final two arent important for a leadoff hitter, I think some younger Sox fans might be dissappointed to see that Jiminez wont hit 20 HRs a year but they shouldnt. Power for a leadoff guy is not important. Hes supposed to be fast and good at betting on base, which Jiminez is... i dont want him to hit homeruns all i want is a .350 obp i could care less how he does it has long has he is on base. Agreed...the most important thing out of a leadoff hitter is a good combo of speed and OBP....I'd rather have a guy that had 30 steals and a .350 OBP than a guy who has the capability to steal 60-70 bases but have an OBP of like .320 or have a guy that steals only like 5-10 bases a year but have an OBP of like .390. Rickey Henderson was a stud from leadoff.....no one was better. A real good eye and real good speed. You got that and you have a stud on your team, immeadiately.
  14. KaZaa....you know what Napster was right? It's like that...you can download a whole bunch of s***....music, games, porn....and my sister even downloaded the Goonies once(and then we burned it onto a CD to watch....don't let the cops know! ). It's the f***ing s*** and I get real happy watching that. As for the dilemma....depends. What kind of headphones are they? If they're some cheap piece of s*** ones....then that trade blows. I assume you would be smarter than to make a dumbass trade like that though. Because even though those SI magazines don't show s***(except cleavage....which is still hardcore), it doesn't mean they aren't worth like $5-10 to a kid(or a teen, like you or me)....if it's in fairly good shape....it's worth around that and then an extra buck....if you like headphones....than it is a good deal. I personally would value a swimsuit issue more than I would a set of headphones...but the headphones, money-wise, are worth more. Tough call, really. I wouldn't make the trade....doesn't mean that others won't make the same choice I would.
  15. Porn is better. Those SI issues are nice....but I prefer to see the real thing instead of having to imagine it. If you don't have it....get Kazaa....or Kazaa Lite(apparently is the same thing)....you can get some hot ass porn on there.
  16. I assume the ASB series has gotten way better than its first game....I remember ASB 99....in fact, I have it. It f***ing blows ass. You could hit a homer like every time, it would always get messed up and like Herbert Perry would be the all-star leading vote getter(with like 16 triples and a 16.000 average....lol).....just all fudged up. I'm still gonna get a PS2 though....eventually get either Vice City or Sin City when it comes out....probably a couple baseball games(WSB 2K3 is on my list)...get a football game(like either Madden or GameDay or maybe NFL 2K3)....and then I'll get others along the way. Gotta quit thinking about that stuff...I'm getting a hard-on.
  17. Garland will probably make the most followed by Marte and then it will go off somewhere....I'm assuming Wright and Glover are probably next in that scale. Something that would make Buehrle smile would be to give him like $1 mill....shows him that the organization truly does appreciate the things he does and what not....and gets some brownie points for signing him long term. I know I post these kinds of things a lot...but I really want Buehrle. He's a workhorse.
  18. Guys....nothing to worry about(yet).....just found this... link Talks about Buehrle's situation....they have until March 11th to get it done with. False alarm
  19. Isn't it legal to smoke pot in Denmark? You should move there
  20. Are you sure it is even that late? I'm thinking mid-May, latest.
  21. How s***ty was the deal they were offering Buerhle? Was his agent greedy or was it nowhere in line with what other young guys of his caliber are getting before they go to arbitration? I really have no idea. All I know is that this sucks. I guess the one thing I do like about Buehrle though is the fact that he just plays baseball for the love of the game....he has said that he really doesn't care what kind of money he receives and that he is going to go out there and try to win them all. The least the organization could do was reward him and give him what his agent was looking for(I'm assuming probably somewhere between $450,000 and $600,000....that is EXTREMELY cheap for one of the best young pitchers in the majors)
  22. I believe today was the deadline for contracts like these to be turned in...I'm not positive, but I am quite sure of that. I'm sure Josh Paul is making more than Buehrle....what in the hell is wrong with our organization? They say seasons have their ups and downs....ours have already had enough ups and downs, and we've only played a total of 5 games(including the intrasquad game)
  23. Those assholes....I'm sure this means that Garland, Wright....etc...will all be making more than Buehrle. Holy s***. If Buehrle is pissed as hell at management right now....it wouldn't surprise me in the least. Our savior of the past two years is making slightly over the league minimum(if I'm interpreting this correctly).
