kenny rogers a twinkie
Rogers, career against the White Sox.... 20-14 with a 4.81 ERA in 314.6 innings....while allowing a .264 average. We hit him pretty well. And I believe he was best career against the Twins....a plus for them, not having to face him, but a negative at the same time, because others in the league do hit him hard as well. I also read something about how pitchers with low K's-per 9 after a certain age are less effective the year after they have a great year. Kenny Rogers fits the criteria above....I don't know if it will remain true, but all the same.....a little tidbit. It is also a reason I'd rather sign Finley than Rogers....regardless of the fact that we'd have to give up a 2nd round pick. Also....I'm done reading Jeff Pearlman. Just read another of his articles....and he claimed that Joe Crede was like the next coming(pretty much comparing him to Scott Rolen, saying only his arm works against him), but then saying we weren't even a good team, and that we'd win 80-83 games. Earlier in the article he had said he had been proven wrong by the Royals when they let go of Mark Quinn, when he said that Quinn was going to hit 40 homers this year....he then went on to attack the Royals as an organization and said that he'd sign with the Padres and hit 40 homers in San Diego. I hope we prove him wrong and I hope Quinn proves him wrong and I hope San Diego proves him wrong....I want the Sox to win like 100+ games, I want Quinn to sign with like Baltimore and not San Diego and I hope he hits like 10 homers....just so Pearlman can eat some crow. He is a stupid ass son of a b****.

Today's Game
Jim....those were White's numbers in Colorado(inflated due to the thin air factor....or in other words, the Darryl Kile effect....which is very much like Arizona). In 2002, White had a 2-6 record with a 6.20 ERA in 42.6 innings in Colorado. In St. Louis(which is more like Chicago), he had a 3-1 record with a 0.82 ERA in 22 innings. I'm not worried.

All Star Baseball 2004
I wish that would work for my parents....I suggested it to them once, and if they want me to leave them alone for a little bit, they send me to a friend's house. I just recently got an original playstation....those things are ancient, but well worth the $30 I spent on the system and 6 games.

Baseball Brawls
You know....with all the trash talking between the Sox and Twins in the past....a simple brush back pitch could start a brawl that lasts 5-10 minutes. If it fires the Sox up like it did in 00.....let's do it!

Jose Mesa and Omar Vizquel
Jas....if you want to know the truth....it was Rivera that blew the 2001 World Series for the Yankees. His error was the key to the Yankees fall. If that play is made, there is 1 out, a runner on first, and Jay Bell up. He could have gotten out of a 1 on, 1 out jam....but instead had a 2 on, none out jam. He got 1 out, then gave up a double....and then hit Counsell. Then Lugo Gonzo came up....and the rest is history. What bugs me about that is that the only games they will ever show out of that are games 3, 4, and 5, when in reality, game 7 had to have been the best baseball game I've ever watched in my life. Hey, I wonder why they will only show games 3, 4, and 5.....hmmmm...

Buerhle to pitch season Opener!
I know he should atleast get to pitch the finale of the home-opening series....so you will get to see him once. I hope he starts out 4-0 this year like he did last year, but I want to him to keep it going, and get it to like 8-0 or 9-0.

Jose Mesa and Omar Vizquel
I don't know....I assume he'll probably get fined some, and he will never face Omar Vizquel....Bowa won't allow it(or I presume he won't). HSC.....it basically says Mesa is pissed about Vizquel's comments in his book that come out and say that Mesa was the reason the Indians lost the World Series in 1997(Indians up 2-1 in the bottom of the 9th, and he gave up the tying run). Mesa than said "I'm going to hit Vizquel every time I face him....if I face him 10 times, I'll hit him 10 times." He also said that if Omar charges the mound, he'll "kill him." Omar was humorous about the whole situation, saying "I got soft-hands. It would be flyweight against heavyweight." It then goes on to explain about how they were actually pretty good friends for a while, but when that comment in his book came out, Mesa got pissed as hell....I don't think they'll be talking much anymore. In other words, Mesa is pissed about Vizquel's comments and wants to beat the living s*** out of him.

Buerhle to pitch season Opener!
Buehrle's a stud, and I'm glad he is pitching an opening game. That's sweet as hell. Whether it be home or road opener....as long as Buehrle's pitching, it is fine by me. Happy to hear that.

Jose Mesa and Omar Vizquel
link A little off-topic, but I figured I'd post it anywas. Mesa's a little pissed at Omar.

March Madness
Yeah, I'm interested....I've done one the past two years(and picked the future national champion twice in a row too)

SN FANTASY LEAUGE TALK
That doesn't even make sense if you have a 3Bman. That trade is flat out unfair. Berkman beats Rolen in nearly every statistical category there is, and Wagner is a closer....it doesn't matter how good a setup man is....because setup men are not worth closers(with a few exceptions...one of them not being Billy Wagner....we're talking about Wagner, who is an elite closer in the league....no setup man is good enough for Wagner)

Bills trade Price to Atlanta
I heard about it too....I asked a Bengal fan at my school(yes, there are even Bengal fans in South Dakota...can you believe it?) if Spikes was pretty good....and he basically said "Yeah" with a disgusted tone...I guess he was pissed about losing Spikes. I've also read that Spikes trash talks like no other....and London Fletcher does too. Can you imagine these two in the linebacking crew? Jeez....and if the can sign Sam Adams too, that'd be sweet. Also...I'd watch for the Vikings to win the NFC North....I think it will be Minny, Green Bay, Detroit/Chicago, and then the one that doesn't get 3rd will get 4th. In Minny, they have a case of having a good running game which brings the defense close together, and then they have a receiver in Moss who has all the talent in the world (but a huge mouth at the same time)....and when you get that kind of thing, and a QB who makes smart decisions....watch out. If they get a good receiver to compliment Moss....they will be a great team(because they are going to draft a top DB with their first pick overall...there's a good one out of Kansas State and another one out of Oklahoma. They could be one of the better teams in the NFC next year. Let's just hope either the Bills or Dolphins are better. cw....Harrington is a stud....and if he is given Charlie Rogers to throw to....the Lions could be a good team. They could also be a Superbowl contender within 3-5 years.

Baseball Brawls
No mention of the Tigers-Sox bout in 2000? That brawl got our streak going. If that kind of thing propels the Sox....let's hope it happens again.

Carlos Lee Trade?
Just tried the link again, and it worked this time....I'll probably bookmark that page and come back for when I need to.
-
Carlos Lee Trade?
That link is faulty for me right now...but with you saying it's hardcore stuff, I am not sure I wanna try it right now. I figure I'll just go to Wal-Mart and find something there....$10 is pretty cheap, and if I get results like that, than it will work well.

Carlos Lee Trade?
I'll see what I can find the next time I go out....hopefully something. Thanks for the tips!

Carlos Lee Trade?
Well, I mean, I'm not positive that there are yoga classes in Pierre for teens....there may be, but I'm not positive. Do you think that you could find info on the internet for this kind of stuff? Because if I got flexibility and got stronger....that'd be good because that would help me a lot for baseball.

Today's game
Me too....this way, I don't have to listen to the game. The comp I use isn't fast enough, and my dad's is always in use during his work day

Carlos Lee Trade?
Just 3 times and I'll see results? Where do you find info on this stuff?

Today's game
Glover is real good....I think our bullpen is going to be the league's best this year...and the offense will be the best in the majors. We will also have a top 5 1-2 punch in the majors. You wonder why I think that we're going to win the division.

If we offered Buehrle for Pujols, they'd be crazy as hell to turn it down. I really couldn't give a rat's ass to how much the fans love Pujols and blah blah blah....the point of the matter is is that that would be a great move for them. Right now, they are probably in the top 2 for offenses in the NL, but lack good starting pitching, especially left-handed starting pitching. Their best starter is Morris, Williams is pretty solid, but after that...they have like Tomko, Stephenson, Hermanson, Eldred, and Carpenter come July or August. The best pitcher of that bunch is Tomko, and he really is not that good either. If they added Buehrle....they would probably win it all with a top 3 1-2-3 combo in the NL and one of the better offenses(because you can replace a left-fielder rather easily....they could sign Quinn, who the Royals released today, and use a platoon of Marrero, Perez and Quinn in LF....I'm sure that trio would probably combine for about 20-30 homers and 70-100 RBIs...that's only like 5-10 homers a piece and 25-35 RBIs a piece). Their salaries are pretty much equal too. The team that would turn down the trade would be us....not the Cards. We have Lee in LF(who is going to have a breakout season this year), Crede at 3B, who's better defensively than Pujols, Konerko at 1B, who's better defensively, Maggs in RF, who's better offensively and possibly defensively, and Thomas as DH....we have no room for Pujols and no need for Pujols. The Cards may like Pujols a hell of a lot....but them turning down Pujols for Buehrle would be like us turning down Ordonez for Zito or something like that....I would trade Maggs for Zito in a second(assuming the salaries were about equal)
