If we offered Buehrle for Pujols, they'd be crazy as hell to turn it down. I really couldn't give a rat's ass to how much the fans love Pujols and blah blah blah....the point of the matter is is that that would be a great move for them. Right now, they are probably in the top 2 for offenses in the NL, but lack good starting pitching, especially left-handed starting pitching. Their best starter is Morris, Williams is pretty solid, but after that...they have like Tomko, Stephenson, Hermanson, Eldred, and Carpenter come July or August. The best pitcher of that bunch is Tomko, and he really is not that good either. If they added Buehrle....they would probably win it all with a top 3 1-2-3 combo in the NL and one of the better offenses(because you can replace a left-fielder rather easily....they could sign Quinn, who the Royals released today, and use a platoon of Marrero, Perez and Quinn in LF....I'm sure that trio would probably combine for about 20-30 homers and 70-100 RBIs...that's only like 5-10 homers a piece and 25-35 RBIs a piece). Their salaries are pretty much equal too. The team that would turn down the trade would be us....not the Cards. We have Lee in LF(who is going to have a breakout season this year), Crede at 3B, who's better defensively than Pujols, Konerko at 1B, who's better defensively, Maggs in RF, who's better offensively and possibly defensively, and Thomas as DH....we have no room for Pujols and no need for Pujols. The Cards may like Pujols a hell of a lot....but them turning down Pujols for Buehrle would be like us turning down Ordonez for Zito or something like that....I would trade Maggs for Zito in a second(assuming the salaries were about equal)

If Rowand isn't ready, than Borchard will be used

Oh, good...I misunderstood it. I thought they weren't because they didn't want to and they were holding out. Phew!

cw....I might have to consider that. I'll probably just lift for now....but if I need to get in shape, it'd either be that or jogging. I'd be fine with both....but seeing women....that's nice.

A little tidbit... Both of Thomas's homers have come off of Wright. One off Jamey Wright, one of Christopher Wright

White Sox steroid contreversy Kind of ....well....I don't know. I don't know if it scares me or something like that....but I bet the Chicago media(especially Moronotti) will blow this way out of proportion, and we will be the team on steroids....if anything, I thought this kind of thing would happen to that north-side circus they call the Cubs.

That's pretty good

:fyou some day it will be you... Don't get me wrong here....if you are not a sports player, and you are 40, you are still in your prime. But if you play sports from when you are about 12 every year till about age 40....and you really play a lot from ages 18-36....you're body is going to be yelling at you. But you're right...I will be there someday. Hopefully, it doesn't happen for about 25 years!

I don't know....the two complimented each other during the year, and both had huge years. Apparently though, Moulds drew the opposition's top DB most of the time....making Price the #2 receiver. Price has awesome speed though...I know that. But Reed will make a fine #2 receiver...and they'll probably either sign another one or two or they'll draft another one or two or they'll do a little of both. They do need some more receivers though....probably take one in the second round or the third round....somewhere in there. The Bengals are also not going to try to match Takeo Spikes...so he is now a member of the Bills. The Falcons are going to benefit hugely from this....and Price will probably have a huge year. It will be interesting to see what he does in Atlanta. But the Bills were smart in franchising tagging him and then trading him. Bledsoe is a great QB....and with Moulds and Reed, he'll be fine. Moulds is a great receiver...and Reed is decent as well. And with that, Henry's rushing will be the by-product of a great receiving crew. The passing game will spread out the defense and open up holes for Henry.

Where is Brooks playing nowadays anyways?

I like to see this....this year will be real fun.

We haven't been giving up that many runs this spring, with a few exceptions. Olivo has to have caught a few of those games. I'd say he's doing pretty well handling the pitchers. I also believe he caught a shutout from someone last year(maybe Buehrle...I'm not sure)

Griffey is younger than Thomas, and Thomas turns 35 this year. Neither one of those 2 are old. Thomas is aged, and Griffey is at the end of his prime years(which were wasted by injuries)...but neither are old. If you want old....you look at Edgar Martinez or Randy Johnson or Barry Bonds....a guy that is very close to being 40, or older. Ancient is like Jesse Orosco...I can't believe he's still playing.

Exactly....and Garland and Wright/#4 starter will probably be pitching about 20-25 of those games.

Unless Paul can learn how to play more than just catcher.... That is sad, but true

No we're not....the Twins just aren't a better team than us. The better team wins the division atleast 95% of the time...and probably more than that even.

As do I. I just read the supposed details of the deal that Mark turned down....apparently it was 3-years guaranteed, with the 4th and 5th being options...the 4th would be guaranteed if he pitched 200 innings in 2005. Had he been guaranteed 4 years....he may have signed it. Oh well....the #1 priority in this up-coming offseason is to resign Colon and Buehrle to long term deals. And then Thomas too if he has a good year. Don't even f*** around with his options.

Boston, Chicago, Oakland and Anaheim will make the playoffs out of the AL(with the good guys winning the division by atleast 10 games) Philly, St. Louis, Arizona and Atlanta make it in the NL(with Philly ending Atlanta's streak) In the end....Oakland wins it....but I'd love to see us win it all. That would be sweet as hell. We can do it...but I don't think we will. Either way....Philly loses the World Series both times.

Yep, I have always liked the idea of Ponson. However, I don't like giving up Lee straight up because right now we have nothing proven to add on offensively. Borchard isn't ready from what I saw of him. He's definately made some improvements but he now needs to work on them in the minors for a couple of months. Now if the Sox could find a way to bring in another outfielder or something, then I definately would be for it, especially now that I have concern over Wright's health. Jas....since when is Daubach not proven? I forgot about him. I realized it after I made the post. Also, why not just sign Finley or Rogers. I know we lose a draft pick, but if it means the Sox can go to the series then a 2nd round pick is a small price to pay. He'd be a lefty, has pitched in the AL pretty much is entire career minus parts of last season and would be a pretty darn good #5. Plus, right now it would be nice to have insurance in case Wright goes down. If thats the case, then I think Aaron Miles makes the team. I'm going to do a write up tomorrow, but damn I like that kid. Remember, I was anti Miles beforehand. Jas....we warned you before.....it is not wise to not take HSC's word to heart. I trust her when it comes to Sox players.

I figured more people would be happy about this. Remember last year, when the Sox renewed his contract for $15,000 less then what they were offering? And this year they were supposedly going to give him $430,000? And they ended up giving him $445,000? A little simple math....445,000 - 430,000 = 15,000 He got his $15,000 back.

San Diego is going to convert him into an OFer...so he will be a LFer when it is all said and done. And I gotta ask...who the hell cares about a player's attitude when it comes to fantasy baseball?

If I were a Falcon fan(which you are)...the only thing I'd be worried about was Price getting adjusted to being the #1 receiver. In Buffalo, he was #2 to Moulds.....there is an adjustment going from being the #2 receiver to being the #1 receiver. He should be fine though....he's got incredible speed....if he gets behind the secondary and Vick throws it to him....he's gone. He was a college track-and-field guy....doing the track part, not the field part.
