  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 14, 2014 -> 12:38 PM) Who are you kidding, for you that would still be an upgrade. I'm just afraid he's going to be inexperienced, plus it would be pretty awkward. It'd be like, uhh, do I pay you now and he'd be all "b****, I'm gonna sign a $400 million deal, why would I take your money?" and then he'd take my money anyways and run off in a huff.
  2. I also don't believe you can see when he started following people, just that he's following him them. You have to be signed into Twitter to see who he's following. Twitter uses the people you follow to suggest other people who you may be interested in following. I'm assuming most people here will follow the White Sox official account plus a lot of other White Sox themed accounts. Thus, the White Sox accounts are going to appear at the top rather than scattered throughout like the others. Move along, nothing to read here.
  3. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 14, 2014 -> 12:34 PM) The pirates could use help with the bats but their OF slots are pretty darn full. Starling Marte, McCutchen, Jose Tabata. With Polanco on the way.
  4. QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Feb 14, 2014 -> 12:04 PM) We then flip those three to the Angels for Mike Trout and a free hummer for every Sox fan. It's foolproof. Trout doesn't have to give the hummers, does he?
  5. QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Feb 13, 2014 -> 06:08 PM) I agree with the benefits, just thought he profiled well to closing and that they'd be handling him in the same way as Reed, who flew through the system in a way that a starting experiment perhaps would not allow. Personally, I wish they'd have given Reed a look as a starter.
  6. I mean, really, he follows more than 30,000 people. There are a ton of different baseball teams he follows. He's probably one of those guys that follows people as soon as they follow him
  7. Honest to god, I've never been able to think of anything that doesn't taste better with bacon.
  8. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Feb 14, 2014 -> 11:48 AM) Not saying I'd be happy with this but what Sox got Santana for 3 years 36 million with an option year. If he does well, those 2 years, Sox fan flip him for better prospects most likely for the 2nd round pick Sox would give up by getting him. And if he doesn't, they have the pitching version of Adam Dunn.
  9. While this would just be the worst, he's also following people for the Red Sox, Blue Jays, Nationals, Dodgers, and likely several others.
  10. Well, at least Incognito was right about one thing during his whole stupid Twitter rant - the truth did come out.
  11. Good stuff guys. Also, bacon bacon bacon.
  12. Unless it is a publicly funded building, businesses have the right to refuse service to anybody. I don't think it's right, but if I walked in there right now and they didn't want to serve me, they shouldn't have to. It really is amazing to me though how unaccepting some people are of the gay community. It literally does not affect you whatsoever.
  13. I'm going to say this again. You can view nothing wrong with stealing and you may do it all the time, but it doesn't mean you're not a thief.
  14. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Feb 13, 2014 -> 04:58 PM) She lives in Cleveland. You don't want that. Jesus, just the worst. Oh yeah, and it was $50 today. Yeah I love beer.
  15. QUOTE (Jake @ Feb 13, 2014 -> 04:56 PM) The thing is, I'm not convinced that Duke was a troll. Maybe. I think it's just as possible that those are his actual opinions at this point in his life. You can view nothing wrong with stealing and you may do it all the time, but it doesn't mean you're not a thief.
  16. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Feb 13, 2014 -> 04:44 PM) I assume THIS post was another excuse to use 'colloquialism,' which I support and will continue to support in the coming election. I'm assuming coming election is just a colloquialism for the future, so I'm great with this post too. I also want to point out how awesome it is that we can be at each others' throats for the better part of 2 weeks and suddenly we start talking about beer and it's like we're old time friends. I think this is always true, and to say "screw you!" to anybody that does not drink beer (recovered alcoholics aside, we still like you). To beer!
  17. I think they do it for a number of reasons. First, it puts the arm through a lot of strain, which is a test for durability. Second, you are forced to pitch rather than getting by on pure stuff alone. Third, you are forced to use more pitches (beyond just the "pitching" thing), which improves the quality of them over time. Plus, you may actually develop into a starter, which is ultra good for you development. There are other benefits, but those are the 3 big ones to me.
  18. QUOTE (The Ultimate Champion @ Feb 13, 2014 -> 04:35 PM) Jimminy Christmas this place is full of yuppies. That is a colloquialism for a young professional and taken at it's literal definition, I assume this post was meant as a compliment, so I thank you dearly.
  19. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Feb 13, 2014 -> 04:11 PM) I love Moose Drool! It has been in Chicago for a while, but I'm not sure if it's in NY. I always tell Newcastle fans they have to try Moose Drool. I haven't had it in a while and bringing up the name (and thus googling, and thus seeing glorious photos) made me crave the hell out of it. I might drink like 20 beers tonight. That might also be a bad idea. QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Feb 13, 2014 -> 04:14 PM) I am a lover of all non-light, non-lambic beers, and Hamm's is one of my favorites. No foolin'. Was once nicknamed Hammster as a result. Maybe I just haven't had it in a while, but all I remembered was bitter, metallic flavor. It's kinda like if you eat something when you're sick and and then you don't like it anymore, except I was never sick, I just didn't like it.
  20. QUOTE (The Ultimate Champion @ Feb 13, 2014 -> 04:04 PM) Red meat every day???? Try tilapia over fresh asparagus or spinach, cheaper & better. Salmon steaks too OMG f*** yeah. Well of course I eat other things, I'm not Ron Swanson. It was an analogy. I like to use fun colloquialisms like that. I also like to use the term colloquialism. Pan frying salmon in butter and getting a nice golden brown around the entire thing is amazing. Also, ahi tuna.
  21. Some days you want a hamburger and some days you want a ribeye.
  22. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Feb 13, 2014 -> 03:56 PM) Don't they have Morse, too? No. He signed with San Fran. 1 year, $5 mill.
