i guess that comes from having to talk over the war for 4 straight hours ..after awhile you just run out of things to say i guess...but the bbc had about 10 hours to review the tape and write their story..and they still talked about the marines being pinned down and in a fierce firefight.. i guess if you call small arms versus a tank fierce??? Maybe fierce in the Iraqis eyes, but it sure aint too fierce in our Marines eyes...

I just hope the Arab world has the common sense to not believe a tyrant dictator who murders prisoners of war. But then again, a lot of those people think Jews are responsible for Sept 11, so my hopes arent likely...

Actually, cw, I dont want to be a soldier anymore. Not because of fear of humans, but out of fear of God. But Im not jumping ship on the whole idea. Instead, I plan to become a navy gunnery officer on a aegis destroyer in the Persian Gulf. Atleast thats what I will request, I could get something completely different. I might end up a foot soldier but Im kinda doubting it. And I still want to be there! I dont want to join the Marines and just end up stateside. That in my eyes would be a failure...

Ok, so on this board we have a few pro war people and a few protesters. So the protesters will come along and say "war sucks and bush is an idiot". Then the pro war guys come along and say "youre clueless, shut up". Then yall come back and say "why, thats unconstitutional, you cant tell us to shut up, youre denying us our freedom of speech". But by saying we cant tell you to shut up, youre denying our freedom of speech. You dont have to shut up but we can still tell you to. You can tell us to shut up too. These people deserve their freedom and to protest their war is to protest their reception of freedom and THAT is unconstitutional. Also, since these guys are celebrating over there (and again I ask you why are we protesting if they like what were doing for them) if we dont get Saddam, hell kill these people. Now that these people have started celebrating, we must take out Saddam, we cant quit. If we quit that tyrant will kill these people. Weve passed the point of no return. In 1991 Iraqis started celebrating and Saddam massacred em after we left. That cant happen again...

The people on Iraq actually support our goal of removing Saddam, so why are people in our own country not supporting it? They looked pretty welcoming to our young boys and they didnt seem to like Saddam too much. These are the people were doing this for. Were not doing this for us, we are doing it for them. And since they support us, the protesters should just shut up. They get to live in a free country yet they still complain of our attempts to liberate someone who doesnt have that freedom. Im sure if the protesters lived under Hussein they wouldnt be able to wait for our coming either...

The TV is showing Iraqi civilians celebrating our arrival and beating paintings of Hussein with shoes. So why should we protest? They obviously support us and they know what its like to live under Saddam and we dont. So we shouldnt complain...

Theyre just showing Iraqi civilians welcoming the American liberators on the TV. Men and women are dancing in the streets and troops are giving candy out to people. They showed a soldier cutting a painting of Hussein off of the wall and then an Iraqi man jumps up and starts beating Saddams ugly face with a shoe. It makes me happy to see this. It kinda shows that we are doing the right thing and that people there do support us and they also hate Saddam. This is just another reason for protesters to shut up. If Iraqi civilians actually liked Saddam and they had never been violated by the tyrant, then protesters could talk. But they obviously dont and they have been violated (Halabja, 1988, thousands died in an attack of VX and mustard gas) so why should we complain? They have to live with that thug, we dont. They know how horrible this man really is. Now theyre showing soldiers talking with Iraqi and it just warms my heart. I wish the best to both the Iraqi civilians and the American troops fighting for their liberation...

I know I am one of the biggest anti French people on this board, but Ive got a question for the others. How come you guys detest France and only France? Other countries are also protesting. Well, heres my answer. The French are militarily weak and they are hypocrytes. Theyll fight wars with primitive people and then when a real enemy comes along, they step down and try to have others do the same. Not to mention they are so darn arrogant. If someone says hes gonna kill you and he doesnt have anyway to do so, and you kill him, is that self defense? Or if he has a way to kill you and doesnt use it yet and you kill him, is that self defense? Or is it only self defense if hes attacking you and you kill him? How bout Iraq? Where you accuse him of having the means and the desire to kill you and then you kill him, is that self defense? Well, what does God think?

OK, before the war started, the protesting was ok. But now there is a war, our young boys are dying (12 dead in the chopper crash) so lets just stick all that behind us and unite behind our troops in what we are doing.

I dont know. Considering it doesnt make you a murderer, I think being a soldier would bring glory that no other job could. A new motto for the navy and the military, "Its not a job, its not an adventure, its an honor".

Im going to become an American soldier but Im not sure what Ill do. Maybe Ill fly choppers or maybe fight on the ground. Actually cwsox, Im having some doubts on being a fighter. Not out of fear for human beings, but out of fear for God. In the book of Genesis (Im not sure where) it says, "For he who sheds blood, his blood will be shed". I think it was said after Cain slaughtered Abel so I know it applies to murderers but does it apply to combat soldiers too? Im going to get a baptism as soon as possible and I will always pray and read the Bible but if you are in battle and you shoot and kill a guy and then you get killed, I doubt God is going to be very happy with you. Even if that person is an genocidal non-Christian, he like all humans, is a creation of God and therefore he is sacred. Im not saying perfect but he is still a creation of God and all humans are. Faith does not have anything to do with whether you are a creation of God. So, I guess the question is, are soldiers who kill in war grouped in with murderers who kill whoever they please?
