Otoh, the original scouting failure was…

Up to .181 and .527 OPS, or less than half of Goldschmidt’s MLB lead and 0.07 clear of Javy Baez. Hopefully that homer brought him back and took all the pressure off his shoulders. We shall see the next two series if it was permanent change or just a temporary Tigers’ blip. (In fact, Detroit now has 4 of the 6 worst qualified hitters in the entire majors by OPS.)

Now imagine the lineup with Grandal and Jimenez healthy and with their legs under them, TA7/11 (Charlotte #) back, and Burger.

But then they’d only get about 60-65% back…? Makes the Kimbrel move/s even stranger.

Did anyone see Harold with radar gun in hand shouting to the heavens, “Just give Kelenic one more shot, one opportunity….Better go capture this moment and hope it don't pass him,”

Except Greg doesn’t waltz off with a young Courteney Cox…

Ron, who would you recommend trading? Opposing GM… ”Well, Cease or Kopech look pretty good, and you don’t have a position for Vaughn, now do you? How about throwing in Robert to sweeten the pot, he’s looking more like an opposite field singles and doubles hitter with limited patience a spotty injury history. In fact, Rick, no RHP has gone four starts in a row with over 100 pitches like Cease…he has a TJ in his past, and he’s taxing your bullpen by going just 4-5 IP each time out. The main benefit is more time for vendors and concession stands to maximize revenues during his starts.” Other than Graveman and maybe Pollock (B/C prospect), what are going to get back for the rest of the roster that nobody wants or can afford? Sell off Cueto? Gio, Lynn, Abreu and TA7 instead…? Reinsdorf won’t you let trade off the latter two, Lynn and Kelly are LaRussa favorites…so it’s basically Giolito and Graveman, pretty much the extent of it. Wait, how does that help in 2023, exactly? Which means you have to go back out in FA and spend even more $$$ replacing those two since nobody can trust him to actually work out another favorable prospect trade again at this point.

This week's turmoil signals potentially systemic issues. Investors often peg stablecoins as essential to growth in the sector, but belief in their viability is being tested. Terra's collapse shows how these tokens can have all the risk of crypto without any of the upside. Now, people are realizing there is nothing to back up the value of these tokens other than the hope that there will always be more buyers than sellers — a bleak rationale to rely on during a full-blown bear market. The move in crypto feels different this time. Rather than being sparked by an offhand comment about more regulation or a temporary skittishness among investors, this week's sell-off has roots in the underlying mechanisms of the market, which appear to be faltering. yahoo.com/finance Bitcoin already tested 20,000 and has jumped back up a bit…if the 0.75% or 1% rate hike come, who knows what the overreaction will be.

Sometimes you take away one of the most important players on the team and it can actually have a positive effect as others rally and pick up the slack, like the GS Warriors growing and maturing their roster while Klay Thompson was out… Graveman gets to go back to closing again, for example. Kelly moves to the 8th and other relievers (Lopez, Foster, Ruiz) have to cover the 7th. That said, him missing the rest of 2022 and at least half of 2023 would be a disaster of epic proportions.

Bottom 8 out of 157 qualified hitters in OPS, all from the AL Central. Plus Avi Garcia, 9th from the bottom, haha. #157 Baez/Barfz, #156 Grandal, Schoop, N.Lopez, Candelario, Torkelson, Merrifield, #150 M.Straw Ramirez #3, Buxton #12, Arraez #19, Abreu #43 Only 4 hitters in MLB Top 69 from Central -
Paul Goldschmidt

Not even Greg775 or Parkman are capable of this counterintuitive troll/jinx... As we speak, the Sox are going to be 1 1/2 - 2 1/2 behind the Guardians and likely just 5 behind Minny if Seattle 4-0 lead holds up out West. Everything will be much clearer 36 games from now around the TDL when we have head to head matchups with both those AL Central-leading teams. Edit: Guardians escape 1st and 3Rd no outs in Denver to go up +3 over .500 due Emmanuel Clase.
