  1. Grossman robs Pollock of third hit of the game. Play of the game so far defensively.
  2. Vest Of course, now we launched the Rangers into a hot streak. Forget about the Sox catching the Astros.
  3. Everyone should be able to sustain their interest through the TDL. Then the obligatory 2-3 weeks complaining about trades or relative non-action. Btw, weakest pop up in terms of EV in the majors this season?
  4. The tough assignment is going to be defeating RHP Alex Faedo tmrw...another former first rounder who has been on quote a roll. Finally got Reyes out.
  5. Who would have thought the NL would be the higher scoring league by nearly 1/2 RS per game even with the DH?
  6. Pitched to contact other than that first at-bat. Phillies and Braves continue to roll. CLE up 2-0 early in Denver.
  7. Promote Lambert to 7th inning. Of course the Tigers might have the worst offense in baseball...don't draw any premature conclusions there.
  8. Tigers' announcers struggling to remember the last time a starter had four consecutive 100+ outings. And barely averaged 5 IP. 319 + 108=427 Tigers scoring two runs or fewer in roughly half their games. Ouch.
  9. Future closer in the game. Velocity is down but secondary offerings worked there...
  10. That might be too much of an ask but 775 works...at least this depressed offensive year.
  11. 2019 and 2021 Lance Lynn combined those two years highest fWAR in AL.
  12. As long as he stays healthy, that's the main point right now...and making contact.
  13. Clutch hitting tonight. Robert continues to pound opposite side.
  14. Vaughn's starting to discover he really belongs at the big league level this year...
  15. Pollock up to a 670 ops. Frozen rope almost hit too hard. Season high since the paternity leave. 36-15 streak by Sox over Tigers going back four years.
  16. Never easy. This team just doesn't do blowouts or even comfortable wins. TLR will go for the pitcher's individual win and this game will get away somehow...
  17. The problem, just like Engel, is what to do with the prolonged cold streaks that will inevitably arise...
  18. Probably not a great idea to have Dylan throw 100+ pitches four consecutive games...
  19. Now how do we cover those four innings...? Well it's certainly better than the opposite problem of eating innings. Cease continues to bedevil the Tigers.
  20. Just don't ever load the bases again. That used to put pressure on opposing pitchers. For the Sox, somehow manages to put more pressure on their own hitters.
  21. Opposite field again...Robert has turned into Madrigal. Why doesn't he just watch 2019 minor league mashing videos until it sinks in?
  22. That's 10x worse than Rodon in the 2020 postseason. At least Renteria knew the quality was there and wanted to utilize it somehow. If he said Matt Foster or Ruiz have shown flashes but not consistently...that would be one thing
