  1. Have to do some situational hitting here. Can't leave him at second.
  2. That worked out nicely. Abreu is the only one Sox can count on.
  3. Twins crew even said Abreu should be on first. Morneau is convinced it deflected.
  4. TLR better come out and argue this one if they don't overturn it.
  5. Nor was Arraez the best hitter in baseball. Complexion of team really changed with Donaldson/Cruz out and Correa Urshela Sanchez in. Lots of playoff experience and confidence. Then the moves for Ryan Bundy Archer Paddack...stabilized rotation.
  6. Part of the problem is Bundy was throwing so slow the Sox hitters were having to supply all the power. 13-6 last year Sox over Twins in the season series. How times have changed.
  7. But then his value is depressed by the ball and his lack of speed and defense.
  8. TLR just isn't the right leader to wake this team up. Feels like a funeral...like the last month of 2003 or 2006 or 2010 against the Twins.
  9. Engel will blow out his hamstring for good covering for Pollock or Sheets.
  10. Burger is the only one who hustles to get infield hits. Pito, too. Sometimes Leury or Harrison.
  11. Twins know they were quite fortunate to get five out of Bundy.
  12. How many more runs would the Twins have if he was playing third tonight?
  13. If they can't get to Bundy... The Sox of course will find a way to beat Ryan or Archer because we're cursed to hang around the race and not make any dramatic moves one way or the other. Then it will be back to 5.5 GB and barely alive. But the way the Tigers are going now they might sign a death warrant for this Sox season.
  14. Other than Abreu at first and Anderson vs. Correa, what Twins' player isn't better this year? DH spot I guess. Urshela has been better overall than the combination of Moncada Burger Harrison.
  15. The Sox don't deserve to go anywhere in the post season if all they can muster is 1-8 against the Twins and Guardians. The woeful Tigers are in the process of doubling our victory output against the Guardians in a single day, for God's sake.
  16. He was never going to be a 40 Homer per season kind of guy. But he's not Mark Grace or John Olerud either.
  17. Can't wait to see 102 mph Duran fastballs and 92-93 mph sliders for two innings later on...
  18. But that's on Hahn for playing him so badly out of position...he has clearly been one of the three best hitters on the Sox this year.
  19. Maybe he needs vision correction surgery just like Lopez. Did they tell him not to run 100% on defense too? He is playing exactly like he laid down a bet on the Twins.
  20. Vaughn for most of this year...otoh Madrigal has been a disaster for the Cubs as well. The do-called core is in danger of melting down into scrap metal.
