  1. BYU without Saunders and UNC without Wilson are bid shockers but not in reality. Already a lot more excitement than first round last year. Siena gave Duke all they could handle...going with only five players for the first time since 1979 DePaul vs. IndIana State. Just ran out of gas. UNC come back was from 19 down. Hubert Davis will feel the heat once again in Chapel Hill. 10 Texas A&M burying #7 St Mary's
  2. Too similar to SF...need piranhas in the water against Twins. On second thought...not the best idea. Mechanical/robot alligators or crocs that swallow the HR balls would be fun.
  3. Giolito to Padres? Must have real concerns with Musgrove recovery. Boston Red Sox On SIRed Sox Free Agent Lucas Giolito Projected to Sign With N...While it's been apparent for months that Lucas Giolito wouldn't be re-signing with the Boston Red Sox, it's flummoxed many how long he's remained on the market.
  4. Heard him on TBS or TNT.
  5. High Point looks for real so far. WI either struggles early or gets deep into the tourney it feels like. Nebraska/Sandforts with with first NCAA win and it hasn't been close throughout. Ohio State loses a back and forth game with TCU. Brock Harding sighting...and Coach Fran with Penn in the Big Dance as well. Too bad they won't likely play Iowa.
  6. Ohtani had that internal brace/revision rather than full TJS? Guess it's just typical Shohei, whereas Buehler's now down at 93-94 well after his second.
  7. Should have just given it to Giolito years ago....

  9. McDougal can stick as a starter long-term without dialing back the velo?
  10. LV and Orlando would really test the viability of touristic cities being sustainable for season ticket sales...
  11. Sox prospect group ranked 6, Dodgers at 2 https://www.mlb.com/milb/news/best-spring-breakout-2026-rosters?t=mlb-pipeline-coverage Top 100 prospects: Braden Montgomery, OF (No. 36); Caleb Bonemer, SS/3B (No. 61); Hagen Smith, LHP (No. 72); Billy Carlson, SS (No. 73) Total Top 30 prospects: 14 Matchup: @ Dodgers, March 21, 5:30 p.m. ET/2:30 p.m. PT There should be a lot of eyes on Chicago prospects come Saturday, given that the organization as a whole is so focused on the long-term future. Montgomery and Bonemer should both bring offensive heft to the White Sox lineup, and while Carlson might need more development time with the bat, the 2025 10th overall pick’s glove and arm at the six could make for a highlight factory. Smith battled inconsistency in his first full season but struck out eight of his 17 Cactus League batters faced; he could make for a fun matchup against fellow lefties De Paula and Hope from the Dodgers. Chicago has 12 of its Top 15 prospects on the Breakout roster; only Milwaukee has more.
  12. Injured players could not rehabilitate at team facilities. Players would be free to sign and play in international leagues during a lockout.
  13. Final spot next WBC USA team: Roch Cholowsky, SS, UCLA (23) We have room for one more player and should probably go with another infielder. We could add another first baseman, but the top contenders -- the Cubs' Michael Busch and Yankees' Ben Rice -- are both left-handed-hitters like Kurtz, so that would be kind of pointless. Alonso will be coming off his age-33 season, a bit past his prime and probably a DH by then anyway. So, let's add that infielder and go with Cholowsky, a UCLA star who looks like a lock for the Chicago White Sox as the first pick in the 2026 draft. He's advanced enough that he's expected to quickly reach the majors. Maybe Cholowsky won't play much, but he can soak in the knowledge of being around all the best players in the game. ESPN.comWay-too-early 2029 World Baseball Classic Team USA rosterTeam USA just lost to Venezuela -- but the future is still bright. Here's who could play for the U.S. in the next World Baseball Classic.
  14. https://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/article/world-baseball-classic-kyle-schwarber-mason-miller-among-team-usa-players-to-immediately-take-off-silver-medals-045751342.html 1/4th of Team USA ditches their silver medals https://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/live/world-baseball-classic-venezuela-takes-down-team-usa-in-championship-game-stunner-230000808.html USA-Venezuela has meaning beyond baseballIt is also a victory with an unavoidable political side. President Donald Trump poked Venezuela about the country becoming the 51st state via social media after its win over Italy on Monday and appeared to do so again immediately after the final pitch Tuesday. Suárez, the hero of the night, had his United States citizenship application canceled in December by Trump’s administration. And the game was held only a couple of months after the U.S. government removed Venezuelan president Nicolás Maduro from the country.
  15. Or it would have to be a draft eligible sophomore with leverage to possibly return to school...most likely prep though.
  16. And who's going to insure all those star players for essentially one month or so?? Would rates be too high like they were with Lindor and Correa for PR? Japanese teams also have strict limits on foreign players allowed per team. Journeymen might go...but few US stars would. Unless their situation was similar to Trevor Bauer or E.Clase.
  17. Except as far as we know it's just paying off the pre-existing debt for an ownership stake, plus the shares he purchased from minority shareholders last year. Still haven't heard if anything is going into baseball operations and/or payroll expansion. Probably not. But Murakami would be the most logical of any FA moves this offseason that could potentially have a solid return on investment.
  18. Ohtani's greatness just amplified everything and the quality of baseball around the world has definitely jumped the last decade...which is kind of the point of the tournament in the first place
  19. No White House invite for either team lol at least Harper came up with a big moment to make it exciting...dull middle innings in this one
  20. not enough baserunners/leadoff hitters reaching not enough clutch hits had to take down a relatively unknown Venezuelan starter early...couldn't execute all good vibes for Venezuelan baseball Skubal/Boras Corp is the goat of this one Venezuela just wanted it slightly more
  21. schwarber bregman or Henderson Anthony Smith or Raleigh (hitless in wbc) turang against NL Central foe?
  22. would not historically work for White Sox to face Perez in this situation...
  23. quite fortunate Gimenez couldn't get bunt down Tovar's a tough out though...or not lol 4-5-6 for US due up
  24. just can't afford to bounce that throw now big time problems could just hear Harrelson swearing at home over lead off walk by Red Sox pitcher
