3/17 vs. Athletics
Man, that crowd is sparse. Guess they count ST losses to the revenue totals as well.

WBC game threads and catch-all
Sure would be nice to have Skubal instead of almost a rookie pitcher in McLean. WBC has to be the best of the 4 major sports "add ons" over the last twenty years or so. Has gone from an Asian thing (Japan/Korea) to a truly international spectacle. One big way to grow sport if American teens and twenty somethings aren't as interested as previous generations.

Looks a lot like the potential OD lineup...except for Hill/Kelenic/Pereira permutations. Colson at 3B. Acuna SS.

Update: Vasil Needs Tommy John
But the value to see Acuna Baldwin Pereira Kelenic (Sosa maybe) and eventually Braden to play everyday is worth more than $5 million to the future Sox franchise's hopes to compete for the post season in 2028/29/30...

Probably. He had those two huge XB hits and five runs scored early...then that deking the runner for an out as well as some aggressive base running. Better play at SS than expected, a but like Meidroth. Limited arm at that spot for sure. Hot torn apart by much better pitching last two games. Cervelli trusted him too much coming out of pool play (sat once for Berti), then refused to play Brayan Roccio when he was added to the roster at the last minute. Could have changed the entire complexion if that three run inning scoring all those runs with two outs...first one was I'll advised throw to 1B on Acuna allowing tying run to score (also didn't even look for forceout at second). Looked like a AA player these last two games...which is what he is. Periphery of Top Ten prospect but needs to show power and OBP because of limited physical tools that put a ceiling on his utility to the team. Maybe comparing every SS to Witt Jr and Tovar by nature of watching them so much recently doesn't help lol.

3/16 at Rangers
Oh oh...RayRay called for him to lead team in fWAR in his bold predictions. Holding his A stuff in reserve for regular season? He's the exact kind of pitcher all the Tier B/C WBC teams were lacking in the bullpen.

Update: Vasil Needs Tommy John
Houston fans gave their team the lowest TV rankings in major market history...former dorm mate Brett Dolan lost his play by play job and has struggled to get back to that level ever since. That said, they had Top 3-5 farm systems for three years running. Like the Royals,…like the Cubs, the majority of their high draft picks became significant and consistent 3-5+ fWAR contributors. Padres and Blue Jays systems were all right there near top...and then the Orioles. SD ended up with 4 playoff appearances and 4 playoff series wins, Toronto won the WS last year after a record setting extension to Vladdy. Orioles just doubled down by signing Alonso and trading for Burnes, but look how difficult that AL East is...probably the most analagous to White Sox, as JR was never going to run out a $300-350 million budget like SD and certainly not where TOR is now...$180-220 million was pretty much the peak.

White Sox lawsuit.
Switzerland...wouldn't that be a better choice, as a country with libertarianism as a value system? When you combine measures of personal freedom and economic freedom, the “ sensible nation ” of** Switzerland** is at the top of the rankings. https://charleslajoie.substack.com/p/the-10-most-libertarian-places-on

MLB Franchise Valuations for 2026 - Sox are 17th
Yep which is why you see the limits of SD's stadium, ball park village, singular team in market, and weather and even the presence of the Dodgers stopping them at tenth. Ofc new rivalry with LA has x amount of value as well...even if it's more like LSU vs South Carolina in ncaa womens bb. One sided mostly.
