  1. JR is never going to do that...doesn't matter if they are down to a $50-60 million payroll.
  2. LoL. For the equivalent of AJ Pollock. If if if. He should just deliberately tank like Moncada last year so he can go anywhere he wants as a FA in the off season...
  3. Robert might as well be signed to an extension lol. Let's do another Kimbrel to Pollock to Benintendi while Rodon walks out the door for nothing in return. Comic AL franchise. Feel a bit sorry for Robert he won't ever realize his potential while in his prime with a real big league team...
  4. Well we already have... Ramos Meidroth Colson Jacob Gonzalez Vargas Sosa Baldwin Why not MORE utility infielders that we can convert to the outfield since we don't have any actual OF prospects other than Braden??? Plus Teel and Quero have to fit into a lineup much more frequently to be valuable.
  5. https://www.mlb.com/news/ryan-o-hearn-padres-orioles-trade Six more from Top 30 lol. Might be the very worst farm system in baseball now. Mike Elias taking another step towards turning things around for 2026. KW is even less of a riverboat gambling...AJ Preller must be addicted to being the center of attention every trade deadline and off season (except this most recent one). Gutted the system trading for high leverage relievers last year. Only three games behind the Dodgers.
  6. LOL. Four Top 30 guys and a fifth in the 80s/90s. Sure sure surex Can't even get ONE top 100.
  7. Crochet....unless you really believe de Vrieze will be a star. Preller obviously didn't. Teel and Braden alone ate worth more than de Vries who hadn't proved he can even handle AA as of yet, let alone dominate advanced A ball. 747 ops at Fort Wayne hardly guarantees anything...feel he might end up closer to Abrams Lite than Tatis or Merrill. Miller with 4 1/2 years of control, too.
  8. Down to Lopez and Buxton...would guess Ryan must be third on the payroll. Paddack yet another salary dump. Relying on Walker Jenkins and Keaschall to save the day, Rouge Lewis to somehow stay healthy...that fanbase must be totally demoralized after winning a postseason series two years ago and subsequent cutting payroll.
  9. just fold the entire Central except for Detroit and combine the other four remaining into an expansion team lol. Well maybe leave KC out of it to still field 28 teams...
  10. Twins basically bankrupt. CLE trying to sell off Kwan/Bieber Clase who knows what happens. Royals taking a step back with Ragans out...and he's already had two TBS and now shoulder issues. Now we have additional evidence why Ishbia stayed away. And some idea of what Benintendi's worth lol...
  11. They can't risk losing Cease and Suarez with only QO's...plus Arraez and Michael King, who has been out two months and returns soon as well. Preller won't let all four walk with only draft picks at best. Let's not forget Sears and Musgrove next year added to the mix...and they're trying to sign King to a more affordable extension after the injury this season has cost him half the year.
  12. JR's not going to allow half the payroll to be Robert and Benintendi...
  13. Glad I was sleeping for the last four hours. How do you not at least trade Houser, though?
  14. Vientos with Sosa and Vargas and Colson lol. Well someone has to play 1B/DH...but that's still not giving you enough power, just like having Teel/Quero there. Most importantly, years of remaining control works against him, as only 2028/29 really matter barrier some unforeseen FA spending to push up the contention window to 2027.
  15. Have cut from $350 million all the way down to $185-190 million assuming Cease and Suarez both go...after the death of Peter Seidler. $145 million is basically the bottom threshold now to be legitimate competitive if everything breaks right for mid market teams.
  16. "Hello Padres' fans - A's fan here. Mason Miller is a very good pitcher, and there is a world in which y'all could come out ahead IF Miller stays healthy and IF he succeeds as a starting pitcher. TOR arms don't grow on trees, and he has the potential to be that. However, chances are, he ends up being a top 5-10 closer, as he was last year, and as he has been sometimes this year outside of a rough patch earlier this year." Still have Miller 4 1/2 years...I think Preller has learned from Hader and now Suarez to go cheaper at this spot.
  17. It could have worked if Bogaerts remained a stud hitter and Musgrove didn't get hurt. Darvish is just barely hanging on, but Jackson Merrill and the addition of Luis Arraez really gave them a huge boost last season. Not just Tatis and Machado.
  18. Stearns and Cohen will be very careful with their top prospects based on past experience/s for both. All about sustainability.
  19. Past tense...but it worked from 2019-2025 to get them in a spot for 4 postseasons out of 6. Last year they very nearly knocked out one of the best teams in recent history in the Dodgers.
  20. For this year, also, they prefer Miller to Suarez closing... Suarez on paper looks great but getting increasingly expensive and close to elite but just has massive meltdowns 10-12% of the time.
  21. Still couldn't get Campbell Mayer Anthony...Red Sox might have rushed Kristian.
  22. Preller dealt four Top 30-35 guys for Juan Soto....Gore Abrams Wood Hassell, and another 85-100 in Susana.
  23. Sosa would be a shock...pennant contenders want strong defense for the postseason.
