GT 6-4: Sox @ Rays (12:40pm)
They can’t seriously be going to Lopez for anyone but Ramirez? 113 EV for Diaz.

GT 6-4: Sox @ Rays (12:40pm)
Bummer with a run of 9 out of 10 unscored upon… Hendriks throwing for the 8th? No Graveman?

GT 6-4: Sox @ Rays (12:40pm)
Righties just 5/44 against Adam. Yikes. Harrison ball would have been an easy out if it went through… 5/45. .111.

GT 6-4: Sox @ Rays (12:40pm)
He has been positioned back at almost the warning track for every hitter.

GT 6-4: Sox @ Rays (12:40pm)
White Sox 17-13 with Harrison starting…7-14 without. Welp.

And the Twins just went up 8-3, Sanchez homer.

Dave Wills…”they’ve gotta get Giolito out of there!” ”Maybe it’s nap time?” Rays getting outhit 13-8 but only down 1. Bummer would come in for Kiermaier. Grandal/Vaughn being in the wrong positions on the field comes back to inevitably hurt the Sox.

Grandal with solid defense? Looks like a challenge. Came off bag after the tag was made?

Robert playing all the way back at the county line...must not feel very confident playing up in the Dome.

Next four months…keys to survival that won’t cost as much
In any other division in baseball, you're probably right. Minn just went 3-6 against KC and Detroit but in the verge of taking 2/3 in Toronto. Unpredictable team. Still, their June is much more formidable.

Josh Bell Andrew Benintendi Nelson Cruz Trey Mancini Tommy Pham David Peralta Anthony Santander So, yeah, not exactly the most inspiring group. But there are some clear fits. The Blue Jays need a left-handed bat and some relief help. Benintendi, Scott Barlow and Josh Staumont would be some kind of a coup. Bell would fortify a Brewers lineup in need of a bat -- and makes sense for Houston, too, if Yuli Gurriel's struggles continue. Barring a surge from Luke Voit, Cruz going to San Diego makes sense as the Padres' quest to roster every player left from the 2014 Rangers continues. The Orioles have been teasing Mancini and Santander trades for years, and the Diamondbacks have done the same with Peralta deals. And for teams looking for a slap hitter, well, Pham is the guy. Jesus Aguilar Tucker Barnhart C Charlie Blackmon Charlie Culberson Johan Camargo Brandon Drury Ben Gamel Didi Gregorius Randal Grichuk Robbie Grossman Austin Hedges C unlikely to trade to rival Cesar Hernandez haha Jose Iglesias Jed Lowrie Jake Marisnick Roberto Perez C Chad Pinder Victor Robles talented career underachiever Andrelton Simmons Dee Strange-Gordon Justin Upton KW special Jonathan Villar Stephen Vogt can occasionally catch in a pinch Christian Walker Joey Wendle Fathom fave https://www.espn.com/mlb/insider/story/_/id/34020108/the-148-names-need-know-mlb-trade-deadline

It's a Journey - We remember 2005
Going with Dante’s Inferno, The Metamorphosis, Don Quixote or Moby Dick. Infinite Jest for apt title.

The only one to move the needle is Gio and it’s at least six weeks too early. Montas and Luis Castillo also going today, top two of current starters’ trade market.

Next four months…keys to survival that won’t cost as much
Sure there is. Because the Twins and Guardians aren’t going to run away with anything. Nobody in that front office can afford to care about 2025-26 if this whole thing falls apart…with the caveat that they won’t trade Vera Colas Montgomery and maybe Kath.

TLR 2022 Thread
Grandal is 45 ops points all by himself for last in the majors. Next to last, Marcus Semien. Can’t go with Engel (over 800+ ops last seven games) and Vaughn at first.

Moncada + Grandal
Connor McKnight? Or is he with Cubs' radio broadcast now with station changes?

Gausman beating Smeltzer seems more likely than Sox back to back wins against the Rays in Tampa or vs. Dodgers...

Next four months…keys to survival that won’t cost as much
Since we're not going to get a LaRussa resignation, Hahn mea culpa or Giolito trade...getting something back for Abreu and markedly improving defense at 1B and one of the corner outfield spots seems as big a shakeup as possible for the time being.

Extreme shift for LH hitters against the changeup and inside slider…

Moncada + Grandal
That’s only a big concern for Top 50-75 MiLB guys. They’re not going with Zavala when Perez’s defense is 5x stronger.

Robert/Burger 3 + 5 hitters Forcing Grandal into the line up at 1B for some unknown reason. Walls back for TB hitting 9th.
