  1. Well, the Pippen selection, too. Joe Kelly told Red Sox announcers he expects to be out four weeks. Furniture just arrived in Chicago. Hope he doesn't make things worse on his hammy moving furniture around. God knows he could pay someone some of that $8.5 million.
  2. Pretty close to 40. It's almost like you only get one Michael Jordan. Don't expect much else. That's your gift.
  3. That's the Village of Bedford Park to you, pal/buddy.
  4. Martinez 15 for his last 22. 5 5 3 times on base in 2 1/2 games. Almost 35. AJ Pollock closer to retirement at the same age. Same with Grandal. Abreu the only one carrying his weight.
  5. Austin Davis already warming. Of course, they are the only team with more troubles closing out games than the White Sox.
  6. If there was ever a time for a homer...the dreaded pull hook. Badly needed to at least drive in Vaughn there and didn't get the job done.
  7. Ummm...maybe not. This has been the worst outing already this season for Wacha.
  8. If only they hadn't surrendered an extra three runs in the second inning. That Bosley Positivity might be working.
  9. Love him or hate him, Tom Cruise in IMAX Dolby Surround Sound is 100x a better entertainment experience this weekend than tonight so far. Great summer popcorn flick that actually improves on the original while hitting all the notes expected out of a sequel 36 years later (when TLR was last a Sox manager). Man, he is the only one winning the fight against aging. It's not Tony and Jerry or increasingly impatient Sox fans.
  10. That should tell you all you need to know about how badly this season has gone awry.
  11. Without Moncada Robert and Jimenez...not happening. Pretty sure Grandal might now have the worst/lowest qualified OPS in baseball.
  12. They really need to start doing a comparison stat on the basic game info screen of time at bat for each team...just like soccer.
  13. All of our minor league affiliates have played .500 baseball for the last 2-3 seasons? We were talking about torturing Charlotte fans by sending him there. That won't happen. This will be his last appearance for the White Sox.
  14. But we aren't to the 54 game mark when you really have a solid idea of what kind of team you have. "Mercifully for himself Keuchel is out of the game." Red Sox broadcasters with a sense of humor at least. Might have been Dallas Keuchel's last big league start. Stuff just doesn't play in the bullpen.
  15. I think he's essentially auditioning for a broadcasting job with all of his extraneous background/context comments to the media this year.
  16. Back in the day, minor league affiliates would threaten to pull their player development agreements if the big league teams failed to provide competitive teams on a consistent basis.
  17. We can't even make a 2005 comp because all those vets we brought in other than Contreras, Everett and El Duque were close to their primes still.
  18. This is too much optimism for you, Thad. The Naylor comeback from six downfelt like a near miracle. Well, let's see if they have any of that 2020 fighting spirit left over. Nestor Cortes throwing yet another shutout tonight against TB...sheesh.
  19. Yet you know the postgame stories will be all about Dallas deflecting blame...offense not supporting him so he needed to be too fine, couldn't rely on Grandal, poor advance scouting, infielders masquerading as outfielders, etc.
  20. Why you could never say we had a "great rotation" because the weakness we all knew would be exposed at the back end...just lacking in quality depth.
  21. Thanks GRF wind. There come the boos. At least they pretty much have to pull him from the rotation at this point. Have yourself two weeks Third three run homer and a grand slam mixed in this week. Story has obliterated sliders and cutters for two weeks... great scouting report there guys.
  22. JD Martinez OBP in May is 473...not too far off from Arraez over two months.
  23. We should have trusted the Dodgers and Brewers being unwilling to invest in him long term. In some ways, MIL pretty much chose the much cheaper Narvaez and Manny Pina over him.
