  1. IMPLOSION before we can even get to Hendriks or Kimbrel. What’s the biggest lead we had lost prior to tonight, 3 or 4 runs up? Was there another 5?
  2. Great response by the offense at home after that type of inning… Seven consecutive runs scored. How in God’s name are we going to win a road game against a really good team in the playoffs???
  3. Truly scary that someone supposedly working for the government doesn’t know it’s FEDS.
  4. Not putting away Mercado and then Miller after down 0-2 killed that inning…plus, typical Sox defense, or lack thereof this season. Still don’t see how we survive a divisional series unless we get Robert’s Gold Glove defense back in CF.
  5. Kopech had something like a .159 BAA and crazy K/IP rate coming into this inning.
  6. Every hitter doing damage is in the .100’s. Can’t imagine that will work against actual big league hitters on contending teams.
  7. How many LFers catch that ball? 50%? 25%? Leave it to the White Sox to somehow blow a 6-1 lead against this offense…
  8. Curse of the former Padres, Hedges, hitting about .150ish, lol. They have to do whatever they can to prevent Keuchel from being on the roster in 2023…even if they risk a grievance.
  9. Miller’s first career homer. Yet another part of that Clevinger trade…isn’t he from Illinois State? Wisconsin? 5/48 in big league career prior to that AB.
  10. And we play the Indians quite a bit still the last 59…that will definitely help our record, especially if they end up shutting down Bieber or Civale, or both.
  11. The restaurant that did the Yerminator needs to do a Seby Sandwich now. Reminds me of an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm with Ted Danson and Larry David fighting over their signature sandwiches.
  12. The new Yermin Mercedes, ladies and gentlemen. Guess we might not get to see the two headed closing monster. Walks an absolute killer.
  13. We definitely don’t want any part of him or Cease starting a post-season game…2020 turned out to be the mirage most advance metrics were underpinning with a contrary storyline. Btw, very quietly, Haase now has 18 homers for the Tigers and sneaking into ROY consideration behind A.Garcia of the Strangers (new nickname since they really suck.)
  14. When their top 3 are healthy…and McKenzie is on, and Karinchak/Clase at the back end, they’re a .500ish team. But even that won’t last when they trade Ramirez. Ultimately, they’re going to have to sign Bieber long-term or deal him, like the Twins with Berrios.
  15. Somehow Benetti will get some kind of gig like sideline reporter…if he manages to steal a bow tie away from a certain someone. McKenzie with a .196 BAA and six walk average…the thing you have to do is wear him down with prolonged at bats like Abreu in the bottom of the first.
  16. So that’s why the potential grand salami went foul late yesterday…
  17. Yeah, Maton was garbage in SD…and just a very pedestrian middle reliever in Cleve. The only thing I can think of is they wanted to give him a shot with another org for everyday playing time and thought they could replace him as the 4th/5th outfielder easily enough.
  18. For his long-term development, better for Sheets to continue to play everyday, somewhere. Especially hitting against lefties. In the end, they’re going to have to choose between him and Burger for 1B/DH/RF at bats, depending on what happens with Jimenez, Abreu and Grandal.
  19. Chang is awful…and they already dumped Bauers earlier in the year. Get Bradley back from the bereavement list tmrw. Straw supposedly runs a 6.25 sixty-yard dash…very similar profile to Locastro.
  20. Indians’ announcers really trying to sell the defensive upgrades with Rosario/Luplow traded…and Straw, Mercado and Zimmer getting more playing time. That’s an offensive output that might not be able to outproduce the 2019-20 Indians.
  21. That’s the next decision…between him and Sheets when Robert returns. Pretty sure TLR will go with the veteran.
  22. Blame it all on Juliana Zobrist. Cubs are now going to have to decide what they want to do with Contreras and Hendricks…neither player at this stage in their careers (especially with catchers wearing down in early 30’s) are worth devoting long-term contracts to when the immediate trade return in the offseason from contenders should be greater.
  23. I’m sure they’re not betting on Wisdom repeating. Either Burger wasn’t made available or Hahn didn’t like the returns on him and Sheets.
