  1. SIGH. Extends career high to 6 K's, lol. We can't even get out of our own way at this point. It's not like we mounted a rally by actually hitting the ball...well, except Engel's foul ball I guess.
  2. Moncada needs a next-life futbook career, he could compete with Christiano Ronaldo anytime someone comes into his vicinity, he goes down writhing in pain.
  3. Moncada seems to make every single injury look like he's been shot. It was a slider there, fwiw.
  4. Already set his career high in strikeouts through 3 2/3 IP, lol...
  5. Fans starting to get really frustrated, too.
  6. I think you just jinxed Lopez...he can't be THIS bad for so long (even in AAA)and suddenly turn it around, can he?
  7. We've been stuck in that range between 16-21 games over .500 for seemingly two months now...at least 6 weeks. Just feels like they are content with holding serve and playing the season out to get to October. Obviously the injection of Kimbrel was meant to change that narrative in the late innings, combining their three best relievers as needed (and hopefully Bummer rejoins to make it four.)
  8. 28995 Lansing Road, Dyersville, Iowa 52040 Well, it's technically a series of gravel roads in the middle of nowhere outside of Dubuque, is a better way to describe it. At least this game is moving pretty quickly. Of course, that guarantees innings 4-6 will take approximately 1 hr and 15 minutes.
  9. Well, we're really good at lower opposing ERA's recently. Hernandez was in the 6's and Lynch started over 7, now at 6.57, yikes.
  10. Royals if they won tonight would have a winning record at GRF of 5-4 and tied 8-8 on the season series...don't we have one of the top home winning percentages in baseball, along with the Giants? Not that we should expect to lose after the way we destroyed Lynch earlier in the season, but seems he's found a more comfortable range of 93-96 mph rather than trying to throw everything at max velocity. Jimenez, fwiw, now 2/20 with that one key homer against KC. First perfect inning of the game for Dallas. He gives you a couple like that somewhere in the game and you start to squint and imagine if just might be serviceable despite that contract then implodes again.
  11. Well, fortunately, Mike Cameron no longer plays MLB...just his son.
  12. Well, the idiot Royals' announcers on radio just said the Field of Games was in Dyersville, INDIANA. I mean, it's not like KC is THAT far from the Iowa border.
  13. Contract Notes: 2024 Vesting Option vests with 320 IP across 2021-2022, including 160 IP in 2022
  14. Well, we were before we finished the game last night…albeit a foregone conclusion quite early.
  15. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/31967120/take-the-sportsbook-betting-site-next-wrigley-field-approved On a slightly less angry note, Cubs continue to be more concerned with generating revenues around or outside the ballpark, this time a team-owned sportsbook.
  16. Someone else pinned it on ire over fantasy baseball stats…there goes the Giolito extension. But wouldn’t his dad be more vocal about this on Twitter if Lucas was targeted?
  17. Can't imagine how things would have been back in 2005 the last couple of months of the season had social media been so pervasive as it is today. We were leading the Indians by 10 full games last night. Better just to turn the game off hen it got away early instead of allow yourself to get that upset about it.
  18. In the end, Jimenez can do whatever he wants if he puts up anything resembling Frank Thomas numbers offensively. If not…he better be more of a team player.
  19. Well, except for the fact he’s (Jimenez) not Cuban but Dominican…that said, he might be the first member of the core rebuild to be traded/dumped if he can’t play 140+ games with a 900ish OPS as a DH. Because if he’s just a mid to low 800s ops LFer with negative defense, that can be replaced.
  20. I’m sure someone will suggest trading Kimbrel to acquire another young pitcher…although with his contract (unless the White Sox eat some or it’s a top 6-8 payroll team) he’s not even going to get you Luis Patino, it’s going to be the A ball version with much higher volatility and 2+ years away from the majors. Maybe I’m underestimating Kimbrel’s value now…but it certainly won’t increase in the next 2+ months with fewer save opportunities.
  21. I can just imagine how much he would be worth after two TJ surgeries and just 2023 left on his deal, if you’re comparing it to the Glasnow trade rumors. Of course, Tyler has Top 3 stuff in the AL when healthy.
  22. And that's without Severino, who they were originally counting on in July... as for Toronto, still have bullpen problems but Springer has really been on a tear.
