Realistically, three people getting hospitalized for seasonal flu or cold is meaningless without a PCR test. People go to hospital for any little thing here in China. My wife’s mom took our 4-5 year old every 2-3 weeks to see a doctor whenever he got even slightly sick until January 2020. Health care and insurance are 10-15% what they cost in the US. Interesting thing, he hasn’t been sick once since then due to all the masking policies and kids not staying together at KG past lunchtime (no group naps in one common room, or eating lunch closely together.)

Neck and neck with Minnesota, 9078 vs. 9092 after yesterday. 14,629 biggest attendance of the year, obviously. Have a good shot to jump all the way to 11th or 12th by the end of the weekend with increased capacity. Every little bit (of revenue) helps, especially in differentiating yourself in the AL Central.

Except by actively working with partners such as South Korea, India, Japan, Australia, the EU (as a whole)...multilateral approaches, they're far more effectively pinning China down than anything Trump ever did. He got some Ivanka patents protected, lost the farmers much of their markets to the point they had to be subsidized in the billions from taxpayer money, ended up INCREASING the trade deficit that he was obsessed with. Neverthless, Biden's getting far more cooperation from the UK, France, etc, against 5G. The biggest holdouts are Germany (all their carmakers export tons of vehicles to China, pipelines with Russia, and then wanting to use Huawei for 5G) and the Netherlands, because they don't want to lose a huge potential market for ASML, which manufactures the equipment for chip production that the Chinese desperately need...otherwise, China will try to do it on its own and then completely become independent of Europe, which is a scary proposition for most of the world that's dependent on trade with the Chinese. For example, from bringing the EU into the Xinjiang/genocide/cotton issue...which eventually led to getting a new trade deal between China and the EU blocked when the Chinese started going after UK members of Parliament and independent research firms/think tanks.

But, as with AJ Pierzynski, "He's OUR ____________!"
-
Haha. He struck out against Hader with runners on in the top of the 9th when they attempted to mount a comeback from 5-0 down. Human, after all...considering yesterday was putting up weekend numbers only Babe Ruth accomplished. Woodruff completely shut them down. Pretty sure they get Burnes tmrw as well. Kelenic also homered tonight, his second....hitting 154/.592.

Status quo in the CENTRAL tonight... Minnesota laying it on the Orioles after trailing 3-2 late, now 8-3. CHW +8 CLE +5 1.5 GB KCR -1 4.5 GB MIN -11 9.5 GB Guess that also "means" we'll get Means of the O's this weekend, since he pitched tonight again MN.

Crazy that Vaughn is only 18 OPS points behind TA7 now.
-
You know it will be Ruiz/Foster/Marshall...forcing one of our high leverage guys in by screwing it up somehow. Or they can see if Heuer can build off his last outing against the Yankees, but Kopech going 2 is fine as well...except that means we can't use him again until the Orioles' series, probably.
-
Singled on a 98.2 MPH fastball. Kopech got a second pitch up to 99 the previous at-bat.
-
Why is Hamilton not in the game for defense? As far as Vaughn goes, just let him be...gain as much experience as possible out there.
-
Kopech now up to 99. Clase was at 100-101 for the Indians closing that one out with Karinchak unavailable.
-
Well, at any rate, Kopech's in.
-
Lynn at 104 pitches. There's just zero reason to make him throw another inning with a 5-1 lead.
-
We need to hire Rusty Kuntz (former Sox) away from the Royals to work on base running and outfield play.
-
Last no-hitter the White Sox lost with Joe Cowley in the old stadium against the Yankees I think...FWIW. 0-3 or 0-4 loss, crazy statline. Yermin continuing to put up quality at bats on a consistent basis...hit a little rough patch again but seems to have righted the ship for now.
-
Almost to the point where you actually WANT to cheer for the Indians to somehow overcome every adversity their ownership group has put them through. Shedding Lindor, Carlos Santana, Carrasco, Clevinger, being outspent by over $80 million by the White Sox....having only three starting pitchers, one really good MVP hitter in Jose Ramirez, no Reyes, and the best closer in the game. It's pretty incredible, like what the Rays and A's manage to do nearly every season. At any rate, I'll root for them to get one of the wild cards against the AL East and A's/Astros.
-
If Lynn wasn't such a damned hard ass competitor, he would walk off the mound and into the clubhouse, lol.
-
Lynn hitting 97 MPH. Desperately needs the K here.
-
How did Edman get to 3rd when the play was right in front of Vaughn? Must have been Leury's doing, somehow..
-
Wow, more stolen bases against the White Sox. Certainly, at least one time the Cardinals will scratch a run across.
-
Mercedes has cooled off but he's not the problem. And Vaughn was really frigid if you take away the homer off Chapman...almost in the 210's.
-
Talking about the pitch he got himself out on.
-
Waiting for Greg to pop in and say that JR should offer refunds or 50% off parking and all concession items due to the pathetic play on the team ever since Yermin-Gate.
-
That was way high and out of the zone. Even Moncada's losing his plate discipline trying to force the issue against this guy. Frustration setting in is simply compounding Sox hitting problems. If we can't get this game, and then Flaherty's next, right? Looking at second place tomorrow night, possibly, after recently having a 3 1/2 game over the lowly Indians.
-
What's the point of having all this speed on the team if we don't utilize it? Just waiting for homers...c'mon, wake up!!!! Everyone can see we're going to have to figure out a way to manufacture a run. Now we've flipped Anderson for Eaton on the base paths, great.
