  1. Because that goes with the territory of being the #1 prospect in all of baseball when he was with Boston...
  2. Or Kenny Williams. Or TLR. Or JR out to sheer stubbornness to prove all the naysayers (they supposedly don't listen to) wrong.
  3. The Conjuring 5 (or is it now 6?): White Sox Comiskey Chronicles
  4. Residual nightmares from the Robert and Madrigal injuries last year.
  5. Or follow whatever they did in 2012 to go from near last to Top 3 defensively in Ventura's first year. Because typical Sox defensive and lacking fundamentals play took over for a decade after that.
  6. Sure, because two guys who shouldn't be on the corners versus just one...with LF honestly being an issue for the majority of teams.
  7. Can they DFA Mercedes with a broken hand? Especially with that prior big league time.
  8. And now Wheeler's supposedly hurt/ouchy...shocking.
  9. Are you saying he's the next "under the radar" McCann/Narvaez signing, but defensively? Too much to hope for, with the Rays' doing the assessment.
  10. Conforto's asking price with the Sox just increased by 10-15%.
  11. Burn. Why did we used to say that all the time back in the mid to late 80's...?
  12. Luis' English has exponentially improved.
  13. What was the injury Avi Garcia had years ago on a diving play in RF in the early season? Might have been Colorado.
  14. Guess it's better than saying x-rays negative then announcing he's out for months. Until we hear definitively, Conforto Talk is alive and well, even though 90% of Soxtalk doesn't expect anything much out of the front office at this point.
  15. 2 pm AZ time so it misses the early news in Chicago....
  16. Sure, if they have the athletic ability and desire...most young MLBers like Vaughn will give it their utmost simply because they want a spot on the roster and refusing doesn't put them in a very good position with their team. Once upon a time, converting to a utility spot was the only way for a lot of players to stick around, it was borne out of necessity. We do talk about moving around nearly nearly every player on the roster. For example, Moncada moving to second would have prevented the Harrison signing and opened up a spot for Burger, but it is what it is at this point.
  17. We can only hope he just makes it...it will likely not be in the next 2-3 years, though.
  18. That still sounds a lot like the 1984-1989 White Sox offenses...
  19. First Yermin, now Andrew. However, we simply move Collins out to RF, we can easily solve all our LF-handedness problems. And he has a catcher's arm out there! Not to mention Jake Burger has been linked to every position on the field but CF and C so far. So much versatility. No problem to see here.
  20. Just give him and Abreu lifetime player options.
  21. Might as well be 48 years old. Related to Minoso?
  22. Unfortunately, the White Sox have made a habit out of round pegs and square holes going back to Dayan Viciedo and Josh Fields.
  23. So much for that Ketel Marte trade…for now. “The Diamondbacks and second baseman Ketel Marte have had talks about a contract extension, according to Robert Murray of FanSided. Marte, 28, is technically under contract through the 2024 season thanks to a pair of club options. MLB Network's Jon Heyman notes that one proposal the Diamondbacks would guarantee those options and then tack on three more years. Marte has blossomed into a high-quality player since the Diamondbacks acquired him in a trade prior to the 2017 season. He's hit for a 122 OPS+ in more than 500 games with Arizona. He also made the 2019 All-Star Game and finished top-five in National League Most Valuable Player Award voting.” Cbssports.com
