  1. Except Vargas and Rojas both are much better 3B lol. Probably Capra too. So he's the fourth best option.
  2. Should have been a runner cut down at the plate and two outs though...despite the hbp. At least I only have to listen/watch the Spanish language broadcast lol.
  3. Cursed my own game thread streak by accidentally waking up at 430 am lol. Shuster? Aiyo.
  4. That's why they can't be switching positions every game...especially guys like Sosa or Baldwin when he was up.
  5. Technically just 1/2 game up on the White Sox.
  6. https://www.espn.com/mlb/standings/_/view/wild-card If the season ended today, there would be four AL Central teams in the playoffs again

  8. Even Alcides Escobar hit like 900 in Charlotte...big difference between there and Chicago.
  9. The Pitt is the best medical drama since ER...
  10. Feels like they saw enough with Julks Fletcher and DeLoach last season...they really need outfielders with multiple tools.
  11. Back in 2018, Vasil looked like he could have been one of the first pitchers selected and had a chance to go among the top-10 picks. However, he got injured during his high school season and emailed teams before the draft that he would honor his commitment to Virginia. Mike Vasil is a 6’5 right-hander with a four-pitch mix. He throws a four-seam fastball primarily that peaks at 98 mph, but sits in the 92-95 range. Vasil also mixes in a mid-80s slider that moves like a cutter, along with a 12-6 curveball and changeup that he uses against lefties. As Vasil has progressed through the minors, holding velocity has been an issue. In September last season, Vasil averaged only 92.7 mph on his fastball, way below the 98 peak that evaluators saw out of college. While concerning at first glance, many are not worried about the dip, as the workload of a major league pitcher has been cited for the drop in velocity. https://metsmerizedonline.com/mets-minors-2024-prospects-no-10-mike-vasil/ Have to think our new intl guy who came over from the Mets made the recommendation here. Also, his story is quite similar to Shane Smith's in numerous ways...going beyond their obvious NE/Boston connections.
  12. It seems part of the problem might have been having a three headed monster in Baltimore with the division of hitting coach duties last year...versus having ONE person in charge of everything philosophically for the entire organization, from the Dominican complex all the way up through the big league club with Fuller now. Runs scored per game...first column...once again, four teams in AL Central at bottom. 19 Miami 4.10 2.00 4.00 4.25 3.90 3.93 20 Minnesota 4.10 3.00 5.00 4.56 3.65 4.58 20 Cleveland 4.10 5.67 7.00 3.45 4.59 4.37 22 Toronto 4.02 3.00 1.00 4.54 3.39 4.14 23 Houston 4.02 4.67 2.00 4.48 3.52 4.56 24 Tampa Bay 3.90 4.67 3.00 3.85 4.00 3.73 25 Baltimore 3.82 4.00 2.00 4.26 3.46 4.80 26 Chi Sox 3.42 6.33 10.00 3.96 2.88 3.13 27 Texas 3.34 2.00 5.00 3.59 3.08 4.22 27 Kansas City 3.34 4.33 4.00 3.23 3.44 4.46 29 Colorado 3.23 1.33 1.00 3.96 2.44 4.21 30 Pittsburgh 3.00 4.33 2.00
  13. https://www.thebaltimorebanner.com/sports/orioles-mlb/orioles-hitting-coaches-ryan-fuller-matt-borgschulte-cody-asche-64OHA52KXVH43PA2R7ILHTBNPI/ Lots of really worthwhile background stuff on Fuller, Slater (that signing and W.McKinven moves making sense), numerous player quotes here. Seems the other hitting coach from last year who went to the Twins is also very highly respected around the game. Obviously many fingers pointed at Asche as well as Elias for his decisions on the pitching front. Can also put to bed any ideas that Fuller doesn't coordinate well with outside/external hitting coaches. https://forum.orioleshangout.com/topic/56795-who-is-a-better-hitting-coach-cody-asche-or-ryan-fuller/&sa=U&ved=2ahUKEwibzaqt4r2NAxXqFjQIHdQMAyMQFnoECAgQAg&usg=AOvVaw23lceZWGy_82T1dV4Bk6rA

  15. After agent fees and taxes lucky to see $1.5 million...not sure if he's also double taxed by the Cuban government.
  16. Somewhere around 4-5 weeks might be the right compromise. Now we're just 7-10 days into this. And they still have to resolve the Thaiss Lee Quero logjam...or dump one of the outfielders, Capra or Rojas. Honestly, Venable seems to love Palacios.
  17. The only issue with all that is playing Sosa at 1B DH where he doesn't profile well, but maybe not the end of the world. And whether they're willing to bench Rojas...who they never needed in the first place, except for their assumption Vargas wouldn't make it. Psychologically...can Colson separate his defense from his offense if he's struggling on that side at SS and getting more scrutiny at the big league level? Just wonder...at any rate, don't think that Colson will go anywhere until June/July.

  19. Everyone's gone now except for Luis Robert, Jr.,...whose days seem numbered.
