8/3 Sox vs Brewers GT
Everyone who comes up through the minors as a SS takes the most pride in being able to play that position.

Was that a FB or slider at 87?

Garcia with the rocket arm. Wasn't even close.

If Engel was a good baserunner, there's no way he should have been out there. He had to see that Avi was never going to get there with the entire play in front of him. He's basically a really good athlete playing baseball.

8/3 Sox vs Brewers GT
Lucky it wasn't a double play. Went from bases loaded to near disaster despite Avi's best efforts.

From 0/8 to .308 in one game. Dammit. That would been the perfect textbook Madrigal base hit.

Adam Engel an OBP in the early going. Counsell might be appealing HPB.

8/3 Sox vs Brewers GT
Apparently, most of the Cardinals who have tested positive are being termed as asymptomatic. Cardinals won't be playing until next FRI. Brewers have been off four days. It's a mess.

8/3 Sox vs Brewers GT
Well, since he's been gone SO long... Last year was a rebuilding year, this year we have Mazara/Engel, next year, Joc or George Springer, haha. That said, it would have been nice if one of our 4-5 young minor league outfielders would have risen up to take the bull by the horns. Adolfo probably had the most physical potential of anyone outside of Luis Robert/Moncada.

He's basically Jim Parque, basically butter/toast/virtually any margarine/oleo commercial.
-
8/3 Sox vs Brewers GT
He's waiting to throw 94-98 in the 5th or 6th inning, when he's already out of the game.

WE NEED PITCHING (STILL).

Of course Rodon gives up Avi's first RBI on the season. Who'd a thunk it. 88 MPH. Whatever that was, it was high and out over the plate.

8/3 Sox vs Brewers GT
Picking up where he left off with the oppo homer two weeks ago against Rodon...Yelich attempting to break out of a massive slump. No Braun, no Cain, so this is the time to be facing the Brew Crew. How often did KW claim that Avisail Garcia could play CF, lol?

Why did we let Rodon face the Brewers in the Summer Camp?

Navajo Nation? Not only casinos, but substandard health carve services... and inaccessible for many in rural areas.

Sox sign Clayton Richard to a MiLB deal
Please don’t ask him to pick up a bunt and throw someone out at first...

So two pitchers who already travelled back to St. Louis from Milwaukee by private car...one more play they’re still uncertain about.

COVID-19/Coronavirus thread
Finally turned on Dr. Birx after she FINALLY pushed back for the first time...probably a political calculation on her part that her reputation has been severely damaged in the scientific community after carrying his water for months and months and months. The realization that Covid response will always be considered among the worst in the industrialized world (see Ed Yang Atlantic article linked earlier.) https://www.cnn.com/2020/08/03/politics/trump-birx-coronavirus-task-force/index.html President Donald Trump criticized Dr. Deborah Birx in a Monday tweet after she warned the pandemic is "extraordinarily widespread" in the US. While Trump and other top White House officials have publicly attacked Dr. Anthony Fauci, the tweet marked the first time Birx, the coordinator of the White House coronavirus task force, publicly drew Trump's ire. The dust-up comes as the country continues to be ravaged by coronavirus, with more than 150,000 US citizens dead and more than 4 million cases. Trump has consistently lied and misled mostly in attempts to downplay concerns about the virus as he presses for schools and businesses to reopen. "So Crazy Nancy Pelosi said horrible things about Dr. Deborah Birx, going after her because she was too positive on the very good job we are doing on combatting the China Virus, including Vaccines & Therapeutics. In order to counter Nancy, Deborah took the bait & hit us. Pathetic!" Trump wrote.

The LEGEND of Luis Robert ESPN feature article
1/6th of the season will quickly be 1/5th after just three more games. At any rate, just the glimpse...if things were to shut down...has got the entire fanbase charged up and dreaming for the first time since August, 2008, about a World Series team again. If not 2020, in 2021 with Vaughn, Kopech and a couple more pitching additions as well as Pederson/Springer (dream on, I know.) Not to mention Oscar Colas.

MLB COVID-19 outbreaks: None of as Sept 18
When I said positive news, I meant it could be or could have been worse. At least the spread seems to have been contained to the point where there’s not than 3-5 total players involved, compared to 15+. The fact that transmission is 19x more likely indoors rather than outside augurs well for getting through this. It’s the clubhouses, restaurants, hotels, buses and airplanes that are the biggest issues.

Well, they had Odor, Beltre, Andrus, Choo, Gallo, Profar, DeShields, etc.
