  1. Garcia and the Magic Railroad.....like a runaway freight train after he gets it started.
  2. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 15, 2015 -> 10:56 PM) We need one more bullpen arm to be dangerous. Crain 2012 or Linebrink 2008...would settle for Politte, 2005. Putnam, we expected....wasnt going to repeat last year's results. Fast infield like Texas...got through in a hurry. Crisp is someone you go right after....no confidence right now.
  3. Fun team to watch. Livingston would have been a monster if he could have somehow avoided all those injuries....
  4. QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 15, 2015 -> 10:53 PM) Still need 9 out in this HELL HOLE! No excuse not to use the best options from their pen from here on out. Just can't let Reddick beat them. No fastballs to Canha, too.
  5. Don't throw breaking balls to the White Sox. Used to be a dead-red fb hitting team. Rodon off the hook now.
  6. Well, they didnt give up tonight. This game wont be over until 12:30.
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ May 15, 2015 -> 10:24 PM) I don't think they'll trade him during the season, now that they're competitive. Most likely, he'll be gone this offseason. If I had to guess, Alexei/Tulo to Padres/Mets makes the most sense. Agreed 100%.
  8. Carlos has a 4.96 ERA but they have to keep sending him out there...unless he has 2-3 more starts with 5-6 walks. His change has been abandoned....more or less. Hard to get by as a two pitch thrower unless you have Bob Feller stuff. Watching Pineda tonight, similar, fb and slider 95%. Contreras with fastball and forkball/split.
  9. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ May 15, 2015 -> 10:20 PM) You're worried about Melky? Yep, except for the lone homer....he's been Leury Garcia in the power department. And he will not get any better defensively with each advancing year.
  10. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 15, 2015 -> 10:18 PM) I mean deal him before the market gets better. Castro and others are better targets for contenders. Why would the Astros want to trade Castro right now?
  11. QUOTE (Dunt @ May 15, 2015 -> 10:16 PM) This team plays some of the most uninspiring baseball I've witnessed in my 30 years on this planet. Free agents have been complete non-factors outside the bullpen guys. Cabrera's the most worrisome IMO.
  12. QUOTE (GreenSox @ May 15, 2015 -> 10:15 PM) I agree with all of this. Putting us back in 2007 mode. Seems we waited 7-10 days too late to bring up Sanchez...cold offensively now.
  13. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 15, 2015 -> 10:08 PM) Yes I do. Maybe his stats arent there yet but I like him to replace Alexei and I feel like this is the time to deal him especially with better players coming on the market eventually. But we haven't really been in the market for the guys like Hanley Ramirez or Sandoval. We can have Beckham/Conor tread water, but it's almost impossible to replace 3b, SS and C quickly or cheaply.
  14. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ May 15, 2015 -> 10:07 PM) Alright boys, time to score some f***ing runs. Been in this thread for 15 minutes and already sick of the negativity. When you walk 7 and Jamie Carroll's in the game....hard to expect much optimism, especially with the Royals, Tigers and Twins winning. Plus, the A's are basically another version of the Twins, except less hitting after Semien and Reddick.
  15. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 15, 2015 -> 10:03 PM) I think I'm one of the few that would like to see the younger guys get some shots this year. I think its time to build while we still have Abreu, Sale and Q under control. Avasail coming around is a bonus as well. I'd like to deal Alexei as part of this. Who? Thompson? Anderson? Sanchez and Johnson? Kevan Smith?
  16. Still in the game but offense obviously needs to pick it up. Avi not being selective in the first, imo, key at-bat of the game. Have to put pressure on the pitcher, not on yourself, with bases loaded and no outs.
  17. More walks. Didnt take advantage of the opportunities in the first. Reddick is tough this year...the end.
  18. "Wow, that was unfreaking believeable." Castro wasn't even going to try to score that time. Never seen it happen where the same precise situation in walk-off position repeated itself two times in a row. Just weird. Who do the Cubs play next, Lillian's Phillies with Grady Sizemore? Is Graffanino still around, haha?
  19. Reverse Brant Brown/Moises Alou jinx. Meanwhile, Bryant almost has five homers in a week.
  20. Thats what would have happened if Alex Gordon tried to score in the World Series. Cubs with another chance to blow it or walk off in the 12th. Soler just had a really tough catch in the sun down the line off the pitcher Worley...Pirates down to final bullpen guy. Little Ceasar's up again.
  21. Interesting the Levine article specifically mentioned how much time Ventura was working with Micah on his defense. Now you have "more hands on" (which flies in the face of spending too much time with individual players) and now no more Johnson. Maybe he was Robin's pet project and Ventura can go back to the bigger picture of managing the entire roster and remembering Bonifacio's on the roster? Whose decision was this, ultimately?
  22. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mlb-big-leag...-044426787.html Rockies' announcers go on weird anti-Josh Hamilton tirade
  23. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 14, 2015 -> 08:27 PM) It's official: the Bulls are the 90's Jazz, Pacers and Knicks. They will NEVER, EVER beat LeBron James when it matters. LeBron is eight wins away from bumping MJ from his GOAT throne. You forgot the Craig Ehlo-led Cavaliers, lol.
  24. QUOTE (InTheDriversSeat @ May 14, 2015 -> 07:55 PM) Tom Paciorek is originally from Detroit, but I believe he lives outside Atlanta. I don't think the distance really mattered because Tom was only announcing a few road series per season. My hope is that Aaron Rowand is trying out this weekend for other future projects with the Sox, and that Tom returns to the booth in the future with Hawk when Steve Stone is skipping a road series. Jack McDowell is an anti-ownership guy, just like Steve Lyons but I read somewhere that Steve Lyons is now announcing games for the Red Sox. I had to provide Lyons all the stats/player backgrounds when ESPN was broadcasting selected minor league games in early 1995 (because of the strike) at Augusta....he was a pretty cool guy, I (of course) had to ask him about the time at 1B where he slid into the bag headfirst and started stripping off his pants in front of everyone like he was in the locker room. Probably the millionth time he'd been asked about that one, but took it in good stride.
