Munemania: He has power
Sure, but Ohtani is getting $100 million personally and the Dodgers are leveraging him Yamamoto and Sasaki and those World Series titles for another $200-250 million per year, all revenue streams considered. White Sox still haven't signed any corporate partnership/sponsorship deals with Japanese companies. We will see if the Sox take on any new salaries at the trade deadline...saving on prospects while essentially purchasing the the last two months of 2026/option buyouts, etc.

Top 20 Prospects (Pre Draft)
Mogollon at #10 seems way off. Will have lots of different takes in terms of the respective values of Hagen Fauske Prosek Thome and Carlson. Fauske can play CF? While Fauske has some experience behind the plate and some scouts thought he might be the best catching prospect in the 2025 Draft, he doesn't want to play there, and the White Sox plan on developing him as a full-time outfielder. They'd rather maximize his bat and athleticism, and they think he has solid speed and instincts to possibly stick in center field. They've also put him on a throwing program to help boost his average arm strength. 2025 Scouting grades: Hit: 55 | Power: 50 | Run: 55 | Arm: 50 | Field: 50 | Overall: 50 baseballsavant.comJaden Fauske Stats: Statcast, Visuals & Advanced MetricsJaden Fauske Stats: Statcast, Visuals & Advanced Metrics

None of those Mune related revenue have been finalized as Japanese corporate sponsors await his long-term destination. TV ratings in Japan and Sox merchandising are largely shared revenues across all thirty teams, except for those sold through the ballpark/team store.

Is soccer replacing all the US major sports (except NFL) in popularity?)
What are mlb tv rankings in England France Germany Italy and Spain? You have to consider also the massive crossover success of those five European leagues, in particular the EPL as well as best Spanish and French teams...it's not just a simple 1/1 comparison with MLS or even NHL. And then there's also the tremendous success of US womens' teams and participation there as well.

7/13 Games
Seattle used 19 of its 20 picks on college players. The lone high school selection, 18th-round outfielder Dominic Santarelli, isn't expected to sign and will fulfill his commitment to LSU. Another late-round pick, Texas Tech third baseman Connor Shouse, is also expected to return to school. It's not an accidental trend. It's a look at how NIL is actively affecting the MLB Draft. For years, teams could use late-round picks on talented high school players with strong college commitments and see whether they had enough bonus money to change their minds. It was a reasonable lottery ticket. Save money elsewhere, make an aggressive offer and hope the opportunity to begin a professional career was more appealing than spending three years on campus. https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/why-nil-pushed-mariners-toward-172435573.html

Official 2026 MLB Draft Thread - Picks & Discussion
"Prosek was viewed in large part as a future third baseman following the summer, though he's been catching some this spring and there are people who think he may start off there in pro ball. A lot of the value here will come with bat, but it's a very, very good one." 2B was/is the other position he has been listed as...

Top 20 Prospects (Pre Draft)
Thought Cholowsky Emerson Vaughn were going to be ranked #18-26, roughly? Bonemer is already lower ranked (or a higher rated prospect) on some lists. Why is there so much variance in the Fauske rankings? Can Thome really be higher than Hagen Smith, who's still #53 on the current/just updated Pipeline list? Why is Gabe Davis still so high? Months ago, there was a theory Cholowsky alone would push the overall system back into the Top 10... Is that still the case after this draft, that they have jumped all the way from low 20s back into the #8-12 area? In your opinion, which of the numerous relievers drafted (along with Volchko) will be at High A or AA by the end of the season?
