  1. Thank god Ramos is out of there. That was the perfect pitch to take down a hot Rios. Have we ever had a closer who pitched effectively in tie games? I can't remember one.
  2. Royals' free-fall continues. Dayton Moore and Yost are getting close to the point of no return.
  3. Yay, another error/PB on our catchers. Are we last in throwing out opposing runners this year? We have to be in the bottom 5.
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ May 24, 2013 -> 07:13 PM) Please give me a reason to follow W-S besides games when Beck is pitching. Kevan Smith? That's a stretch. DiMichele had his fans as well coming into the season. Some people like Haddow, but he's not a real prospect yet...sort of like Earley.
  5. Combination of Ramos looking good and the bottom of our line-up offering little to no resistance.
  6. And you can't go to Crain or Thornton here either. Lindstrom, this season's poor man's version of JJ Putz. Well, at least it's still tied. It could be a lot worse if the Marlins had an actual offense/Stanton.
  7. Rios didn't read that one very well...he broke back on first move, then couldn't recover.
  8. Harrelson....our advantages over DET in the bullpen and defense....you're sure about that?
  9. More throwing woes from our catching corps...although he had a really nice break anyway.
  10. Center cut fastball. Can't expect success with that location at 3-2. Had him down and let him escape.
  11. Ozuna looks like a more menacing version of Juan Uribe...
  12. Konerko finally looking better. Nice sign that he actually got his hands in on the first hit to LF on a fastball and looked reminiscent of the old swing.
  13. Walk or hit for the Twins? They have a runner on 1st. Not a surprise there. Mauer with the single.
  14. 18 game hitting streak for Rios. Solid single pulled between SS and 3B.
  15. 74 pitches through six for Danks. Pretty economical.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ May 24, 2013 -> 07:21 PM) Um Hawk and Stoney, I'd like for you to know Koehler and Nolasco don't have the best stuff in the Marlins rotation. The funny thing is that they showed Fernandez in the dugout in the middle of that conversation.
  17. Nice job hitting with 2 strikes there by Gimenez. I guess it wouldn't hurt to start giving him a bit more playing time.
  18. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ May 24, 2013 -> 07:14 PM) Did you forget we're playing the Marlins two more times and then the Cubs? Nope.
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ May 24, 2013 -> 07:05 PM) Disagree, this is getting blown up if they're 10 or out near the deadline. If blowing up means trading Crain, Rios and Ramirez....and dumping Thornton's salary. The problem is that if you trade Rios....you're really going to have a hard time making a case for competing in 2014. In which case, then you might as well trade Peavy as well.
  20. QUOTE (fathom @ May 24, 2013 -> 07:05 PM) Disagree, this is getting blown up if they're 10 or out near the deadline. Possibly 6 back of the Tigers after tonight and DET still has two more games to beat up MINN. A week or so ago, thought 8 games the danger zone (especially with CLE still far ahead of us)...but that 8-10 game parameter spells trouble, especially when considering we'd have to make the case for beating DET head-to-head. Too bad Sanchez didn't end up with the Cubs...he's 8th in the league in K's and everyone forgets both him and Fister with how much attention Verlander and Scherzer get.
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ May 24, 2013 -> 07:04 PM) It has in 4 of the last 5 games now Although if Keppinger's ball goes through into CF, it's a totally different situation. Then again, if Koehler could field his position effectively and not fall off the mound....maybe he catches it.
  22. Not bad enough to be truly bad, but not close to good enough to be really good, either. PURGATORY.
  23. Why does it seem that every time we fail with RISP that we turn around and give up runs the next inning??? Followed by Rule #1 for White Sox baseball: Any time we face a rookie pitcher in search of their first career victory....
