Heck, let Cora, Contreras or Ozzie's kids manage it, as long as White Sox administration and training staff are personally involved. We keep speculating about getting a player like Cabrera to come to Chicago as a Free Agent, but Ozzie hasn't helped us (that we know) directly in that area as of yet. I also think the political climate (anti-gringo, anti-Bush, ant-American, look what happened to that ex-pat accused of murder in Nicaragua without any evidence) has something to do with it. A lot of the South American countries are becoming socialistic, mixed with "market economy" reforms, like Chile, Bolivia (run by a former cocaine farmer), Venezuela...then you have Cuba, etc. Plus, there have been many threats about "nationalizing" US corporations (especially oil companies and banks), so it doesn't make as much sense to invest there at the present time, except for the fact that Ozzie is "hot" and a national hero right now. In Colombia, you have to be in Cartagena, Barranquilla or Santa Marta...Renteria and Orlando Cabrera are both from this region. The coast is the only place to be for baseball. And it's HOT down there...imagine Augusta, Georgia with 95% humidity in the middle of August. They have the ocean breeze and still, most people don't work between 10 am and 3 pm. I would think Anderson would love Latin America, except for being sick. Beautiful women, the culture is all about dancing, festivals, parties, soccer...you make friends wherever you go. You can never be late, time doesn't exist...Americans can pretty much have any woman they want, especially those like BA that are tall with blond hair and blue eyes, lol.

OTOH, you watch Verlander, Dice K (Yankees fans, being the mature breed there are, call him "Dice Gay" already) or Felix Hernandez go out there in the same conditions and you wonder if new "leg drive" sessions with Jenks will miraculously bring back his "real" FB...and why can't the Sox, an organization worth hundreds of millions, figure out a way to get Bobby Jenks in throwing shape to start the season, or even ST? Did you forget that the WhiteSox have Iguchi at 2nd? He isnt as good as Cano but he is a pretty good player. Sheeesh.... Cano is worth a lot more than an average pitcher.

As far as Andruw Jones goes, I was using the term "serious decline" referring to his defense, not his offense. While I do think it makes more sense to give Andruw Jones $45 million over 3 years than Jermaine Dye, I still don't foresee it happening.

Aside from those guys you will probably see a few free agents mixed into a field of Josh Fields, Ryan Sweeney, Brian Anderson, Gio Gonzalez, Boone Logan, John Danks, Adam Russell, Lance Broadway, etc. I could see a Luis Castillo at 2B or maybe a Carl Crawford or Alex Rios in the OF. I think KW would trade Tampa Bay's position players for ours, straight up, and it would only take a heartbeat or two. Crawford, Baldelli, Dukes, D. Young, Iwamura, Cantu, Jonny Gomes, BJ Upton, Wigginton Their only weaknesses are at C, 1B and SS with Zobrist. KW and OG would love to have those players, because he would have another $25-35 million to spend on pitching, which is usually the heart of any championship team. Combine their line-up with our starting pitching and bullpen and they would be the Cleveland Indians of the mid-90's with slightly better pitching (although Colon, Wright and Nagy were nothing to sneeze about).
