  1. There are plenty of questions about them and the family says that it wouldn't have been like their father and husband to write such a memo. A memo to himself??? Not only that, but the widow states that the memo is 180 degrees from what he felt about having Bush in his command. This, added to the timing (where were these documents in 2000? Why do they still exist at all? Were supposedly from the mans personal files. He died in the early 1980's), and the story about the other main figure (his name escapes me now. Kerry's neighbor), etc. makes something stink.
  2. I'm sorry, but if I'm on a jury and the prosecution has been charging the defendant with the same crime over and over again and in the latest trial it has been shown that they used fake evidence, I'd scream "Enough is enough already!". The point isn't that this one aspect of the evidence is phony, the problem is why is phony evidence being used??? If my neighbor is a criminal and I've got the goods on him, I wouldn't use doctored evidence also. So, let's see, one area of the evidence is faked. The other is coming from Kerry's neighbor, political donor, and someone who will have a spot in his administration (if there were going to be one). The same guy who five years ago gave sworn testimony contradicting what he is saying now. Also, I heard his daughter on the radio saying that her father told her the exact opposite of what he is saying now. This doesn't seem strange? I'd bet dollars to doughnuts this case would be dismissed. BTW, isn't forging documents against the law?
  3. Shooting people is already illegal and yet it still happens. Armed robbery is already illegal and yet it still happens. The only people who would abide by a law banning guns will be the very people you are not worried about killing people. I don't own a gun, so I really have no stake in keeping the right to bear arms, but outlawing them is kind of silly. The bad things one can do with a gun are already illegal. The Japan comparison doesn't hold water. Soccer is popular in Europe and not so popular here. Europe has many soccer riots. The U.S. doesn't. Should European nations outlaw soccer? After watching some soccer, perhaps they should!
  4. Yeah, we all know that crowds are very smart and always have all the facts. By the way, when will the next motorist be beaten to death by a mob for hitting someone who jumps into the street?
  5. Isn't that one of the main points of the Swift Boat Vets? They are pointing out that much of the evidence that was used to give Kerry the medals was supplied by Kerry himself, often after the people who knew the circumstances better were gone and unable to refute his story. Don't get me wrong. While I haven't seen much pointed out that refutes what the SBV's are saying (all I've seen against these guys are their connections and such, not that what they are saying is untrue), I understand that they aren't doing this solely because they feel Kerry would be a terrible Commander-In-Chief. I'm sure after what he said and did once he came back from Vietnam and their hatred of him because of it is their motivation, and I understand it. s***, the fact that John Kerry is in a Vietnamese museum as a hero for their cause makes it understandable that they despise him.
  6. The guy was a Rear Admiral, right? Sounds like he was a pretty important guy in the military and just might have secured the contract on his own. Ridiculous, I know, but possible. Or, perhaps the company that actually won the contract does quality work and has done work for the U.S. in the past. I'm sure if the company didn't deserve the contract that would have been plastered all over the article. Did this Rear Admiral, who may have sold out an honorable fellow vet for a few bucks, just take up lobbying and this was his first success? I'm sure if that were the case, again, all over the article. If this guy got a contract for his "smearing" of Kerry, what financial windfalls did the other 200+ get?
  7. I never accused John Kerry of factually misrepresenting anything. What I said was that if eyewitness accounts from the Swift Boat Vets are factually unsupportable, then Kerry's reports of Vietnam vets severing heads and limbs are also factually unsupportable. Sure, people talked about them, but by this definition, it is irrelevant. I haven't seen enough pictures or video or other "factually supportable" evidence to convince me that it happened on a daily basis as Kerry alleged. Without such evidence, would this reporter also call Kerry's statements factually unsupportable?
  8. That article is just dripping with misleading statements... Factually unsupportable? Kerry made statements after the war about soldiers cutting off heads and limbs. With no pictures or video, one could say that Kerry has made many "factually unsupportable" statements. I guess eyewitneeses mean nothing. $1000?!?! Holy s***!!! And he didn't get a cabinet post for that huge contribution??? Unbef***inglievable! What a joke. I donated money to the policeman's fund...does that mean somehow I have some connection to the police department? If so, I'll have to remember that if I'm pulled over for speeding.
  9. Seeing McCain last night made me wish he had won in 2000. I support Bush and all, but I voted for McCain in 2000 and would do so again today. He is just a great man, IMO. Maybe in 2008.
  10. Anybody who heard it could only say the Kerry girls were booed much more enthusiastically by the crowd, but to be fair, the Bush girls were pre-recorded. Even the brainiacs at the MTV Awards won't boo a video screen with as much gusto as they will real live people.
  11. I don't know whay happened and don't have the energy to read all 8 pages of this thread, but it does seem to me that cw was a lightning rod for controversy. I'm not sure if that is coincidental.
  12. But c'mon now, the guy gives good speeches, and dances pretty well too.
  13. He deserves it, if for nothing else than the all black cast The Real World!
  14. After watching Bush's first pitch and Kerry's recent first pitch, Bush is definitely the better athlete. Bush in the 2nd by TKO.
  15. As far as I know, the Senate Intelligence Committee, is presented the same intelligence information as the President. I would imagine that the same would go for bin Laden and Clinton. Of course, there is no question that bin Laden was always considered dangerous. The question was what to do about him, which wouldn't have anything to do with the Senate Intelligence Committee.
  16. The Pantagraph, a Bloomington/Normal newspaper is calling for an apology from Michael Moore, for doctoring their front page for his movie F/911. His movie showed the Pantagraph, they claim, with the headline stating, "Florida recount shows that Gore actually won election". The Pantagraph says that that was never on their front page but was actually just a title of a letter appearing in their Letters to the Editor page.
  17. I was flipping through the channels and came across Kerry saying "I will not mislead this nation into war!" and had to turn it off in disgust. He was privy to all the same information that GWB had, and he voted for the war, often using stronger language for the need for war, and he has the nerve of accusing the President of misleading us? Sickening.
  18. Jesus Christ, Moore sounds like a child. Saying something that turns out to be untrue is not, in and of itself, a lie. Someone can be mistaken without lying. What a goddamned idiot. I never understood the whole concept of Moore's about asking Senators to enlist their children in the military. It is patently ridiculous. If a garbageman's union approached me on the street and asked me to make my boys become garbagemen and I refused, do they have a right to pick up my trash anymore? Being a fireman is a dangerous line of work that I would prefer my children avoid, for my sake and theirs...does that mean that I'm out of line to request that firemen, people who joined the department of their own free will and are paid to put out fires, put out the fire consuming my house? Of course not.
  19. Isn't that enough??? What on earth does a guy have to do to get some attention as a terrorist? That should have been enough. Surely he was considered a big enough threat for Billy Boy to "plead with the Saudis to take him", as he claims to have done.
  20. Just so I'm not misunderstanding, we are talking about former vice president Al Gore, right??? And for the record, popular vote totals mean crap as long as we have the electoral college. Illinois is currently in John Kerry's pocket. Everyone knows this. You don't think Bush may get a better voter turnout in Illinois if it wasn't a waste of time voting for him? The same can be said about Kerry votes in the deep south, but like I said, popular vote totals mean s***. Man alive, there's a lot of presumptions in this epic email. Marvelous considering he is best known for claiming he invented the internet and spending 8 years in America's least impactful political position. I suppose we'd also have a cure for cancer as well. Also amazing considering no one in the Democratic Party seemed too upset when he didn't run for the nomination again. Hell, with such a glowing description of what his presidency would have been, I am surprised they didn't thrust the nomination on him last year.
  21. Now that is a good case of 2+2=5
  22. Bruce Springsteen is still playing music?
  23. People can assume your thoughts because they are so predictable. It is the same way as I said about your anti-Passion rants. They were so persistent and over the top that they became irrelevant and easily dismissed. The same can be said of someone like Michael Moore. He is so outrageously anti-Bush that nothing he says can be taken at face value. If Bush shoved an elderly woman out of the path of a speeding bus, Moore would report "Bush likes to shove old ladies!". You have a pattern of blaming Bush for everything and libs for nothing. So, if you don't like people inferring what you think on topics, it is because there is a 99% chance that whatever you think is anti-Bush.
  24. THANK YOU, TEX!!! I was thinking the same thing yesterday. I keep hearing about the "sophistication" of the 9/11 attack. What are people talking about? Like you said, they took some pilot classes, as anyone here can do, then bought some tickets and exacto knives and flew planes into buildings. Where is the sophistication???
  25. I'm probably wrong, but I thought that the Beamer fellow wasn't talking to his wife but an operator, either a 911 operator or a cell phone operator. I thought she was the one who related his story to the media and the wife confirmed that he always said "Let's roll".
