  1. QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Jan 24, 2009 -> 07:37 PM) Well its been fun, Ill State fans, maybe lll go watch the Big East game, gotta watch tourney teams to help fill out my bracket. Maybe ill go watch the KU v. Memphis game from last year. Always a pleasure my friend.
  2. QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Jan 24, 2009 -> 07:01 PM) SIU worked hard to get to that point. Does Ill State have the recruits to compete when this all american class leave? Not anything like this past years SIU class, and they don't have another Osiris coming, but it should be o.k.
  3. QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Jan 24, 2009 -> 06:53 PM) that was exactly my point, thanks SIU has the reputation though. It doesn't look as bad to lose to SIU as it does ISU, even this season.
  4. QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 24, 2009 -> 06:50 PM) Maybe if they showed up against Drake in the MVC finals, they would of made it. One terrible loss. They were still 23-8. Second in the valley. Beat CU and SIU both twice. RPI 32. Yet Kentucky with it's wonderful losses to Gardner Webb and San Diego gets in at 18-12 and a RPI of 59. Its all about the money and reputation. BCS schools hold down the smaller conferences by not playing them. It's the way it is. We got a game against Indiana last year, had a bit of success and now no one will play us.
  5. QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Jan 24, 2009 -> 06:44 PM) If lll State were too do something in the tourney, they would get plenty of offers from top squads. and everyone holds them down from getting into the tourney by not playing them. There is no way they should not have been in the tourney last year with an RPI at 32. Yet for some reason BCS teams with RPI's in the 70's got in. I wonder why. It's a shame that the only way in is winning the conference tourney when mediocre BCS conference teams get in. It's all about money and ISU doesn't bring it.
  6. QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Jan 24, 2009 -> 06:38 PM) um that is not true at all. no one had ever heard of Ill State before this year for the most part. I am sure KU will schedule with Ill State very soon. What he said was spot on. You think they wanted to have a terrible schedule for this season? There is no way a BCS school will play Ill St. at home and they definitely won't come into Redbird Arena to do it either, which is sad. It's all the same level of basketball, it's not like the MVC is 1-AA or something.
  7. You still think it's crazy to say that ISU wins at Redbird, UIUC wins at assembly? I don't think that is a crazy assumption at all.
  8. QUOTE (Felix @ Jan 24, 2009 -> 06:11 PM) Except when playing the powerhouse that is Indiana State. Our best player was sick, Wichita is the only real bad loss and you are bound to lose to one bad team on the road. Look at Mich St. vs. Northwestern. Indy St. could beat Northwestern.
  9. QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Jan 24, 2009 -> 06:15 PM) I am not mad, I am laughing at his clueless bias. I absoultely hate Illanoy, but I can tell you that they are a very talented team. Come find me when Ill State beats somebody with a wow factor. Beating Creighton by 22 didn't do it for ya?
  10. 17-3! Screw the haters, we'll just keep on winning games.
  11. QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Jan 24, 2009 -> 12:47 PM) Then what's up with the MS paint sig? ISU is the only school I care to watch, due to my time on campus there. Still live in normal. I can't watch any other schools unless I'm really bored.
  12. As pretty much the only ISU fan ever in this forum, I pretty much have to be a huge homer to get any conversation going. Even though I really do believe ISU is better than UIUC.
  13. QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Jan 24, 2009 -> 12:11 AM) So when Illanoy wins the big 10 and ISU hosts a home court NIT game will you give up this stupid assertion. I'll never give this up.
  14. I'm just saying I've seen both teams and I think ISU is better when they are both playing at their top level. ISU is more athletic and shoots the 3 better. UIUC only has the size advantage, this is just my biased opinion however.
  15. I've seen UIC, SIU, Bradley, and I've caught a couple UIUC games.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Jan 23, 2009 -> 06:01 PM) Eat spaghetti o's Me too. I also eat hot dogs for a meal at least 3 times a week.
  17. Cell Phones. I don't like being in constant contact with everyone.
  18. The NBA playoffs over the NCAA tourney.
  19. I'm a huge NBA fan and I just can't watch the Bulls. I've probably seen the Lakers play more times this year. It's sad because after the Sox, the Bulls are my number 2 team. Something needs to be done.
  20. QUOTE (WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Jan 23, 2009 -> 07:51 PM) Clemens would have been a hall of famer without steroids. I disagree. Before he supposedly started the steroids in Toronto, he only had 192 career wins and 2500 k's. He was only 40-39 the 4 years prior to that and looked finished. Then, he goes out and becomes a great pitcher again all of a sudden. His use should have been way more noticeable than even Bonds. He was also not a HOF player before he started using like bonds.
  21. I've always loved Bonds. MHizzle can back me up. Best player I've ever seen and will probably be the best I'll ever see. When it comes to athletes, I can't dislike someone with freakish abilities. The steroid things doesn't really bother me with any player either. Except Clemens, I just think he is an ass.
