Been reading "Ready Player One" for a couple of hours now. Glad it was recommended in this thread.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 1, 2012 -> 06:27 PM) You see it more in college sports. With free agency in pro sports, it is much harder to have that attachment to teams, as players move around a lot more. Yeah, you always see players stay in college for a decade or so. -
I agree with Kyle, I don't see how anyone is afraid of breaking up this core for the best center in the game. The Bulls are really good and really fun right now, but with Howard they are really championshippy which is also really fun.

11/22/63 was excellent. I think I'll try Ready Player One next.

QUOTE (MAX @ Jan 31, 2012 -> 01:23 AM) Well I'm sure I'm in the minority. But I think a great dunk has a good horizontal component too. I agree. I'm a bigger fan when you go over and through someone rather than jumping high and chucking it at the hoop. I still think Blake's best is the spin into a dunk on Gallinari.

QUOTE (SouthSideTeacher @ Jan 30, 2012 -> 09:49 PM) Yes, but would you trade THE REST of your starting lineup-- leaving only Rose behind to work with Dwight? In a heartbeat.
-
I'd give them anything they want for Howard outside of Rose. It won't happen though so I wont spend any more time thinking about it.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 29, 2012 -> 04:54 PM) Yes, give Hamilton credit for today. But let's not get crazy now. How many times have you said that the Rip against Wade thing is not true?

QUOTE (ptatc @ Jan 26, 2012 -> 11:47 AM) Rose has missed games. Peavy's problem has been injuries. So it's fine to be intense and try really hard, only if your good. If you don't perform we don't want the players to be intense. The ones who don't perform well we want to be laid back with no insensity? This doesn't make sense to me. I want ALL my players to be intense and have this attitude, not just the ones who play well. I do too for the most part, but you shouldn't be spouting off about it all the time unless you have proven time and again that it means something. I wish Jake would just keep his mouth shut about it until he actually does something.

QUOTE (knightni @ Jan 19, 2012 -> 09:52 PM) My favorite Curry comment was by Scott Skiles: With the "air" Curry gets when he goes up for a rebound, you can barely slide a piece of notebook paper under his shoes. My favorite was when they asked Skiles how Eddy could become a better rebounder and he responded with a simple "jump".

QUOTE (Tex @ Jan 19, 2012 -> 09:48 PM) The same people who never would have considered walking into a store and shoplifting a CD will easily accept or download a pirated copy. It is virtually anonymous. Yes, there are thefts in every business, would you expect a store to just roll over and say, here take what you want? Why do we treat a digital download different than say a car? Imagine if a car thief said he would have bought that Mercedes G series but Mercedes was trying to make too much profit so he stole it instead? The business model may be flawed based on today's technology, but simply allowing people to steal your product isn't the answer. Comparing online piracy to stealing a car is ridiculous.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jan 19, 2012 -> 09:14 PM) How the hell did you ever like that guy? I really don't know. My guess is because he is still the best post scorer the Bulls have had in my lifetime. I have his autograph around here somewhere. It's an autographed ESPN the magazine by he and Tyson with them on the cover. Needless to say, it's pretty sweet.

Holy Hell that's dumb. -
QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jan 19, 2012 -> 07:44 PM) Eddy Curry in game. Get's rebound. Immediate turnover. Despite losing 100 pounds, still looks fat. Eddy Curry was my favorite Bull between Jordan and Rose. Not kidding. He could score at will. It's a shame everything single thing besides that about him sucks.

SOXOBAMA's opinion: Payton > Jordan

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 19, 2012 -> 05:11 PM) Are we really naive enough to think that if I'm watching Lost or The Dark Knight off a torrent (in 1080p, 5.1 quality...not some s***ty grainy version) that I'm going to then go waste 25 bucks on the blu-ray copy? Or after I finish a book on my e-reader i'm going to get the hard copy? I do this all the time. I've bought so many books from authors I would never had purchased a book from had I not downloaded their book for free to see if I like their stuff.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 19, 2012 -> 01:33 PM) That's false. I have no clue who perpetrated that myth. That's almost as bad as Gerald Wilkins somehow getting a "Jordan stopper" reputation back in the early 90's. You can see all of their head to head matchups here. Wade averages a little more than 21 a game vs. Rip as opposed to over 25 a game in his career.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 18, 2012 -> 11:17 PM) The Knicks lost to the Godawful Suns. They f***ing suck, J4L. They and the Bulls are going to be neck and neck for the #2 seed bro.

QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Jan 17, 2012 -> 06:07 AM) I started 11/22/63 the other day. I can't put put it down. The writing is very much old school King, but there's not a lot of supernatural stuff going on...well except for the time travel thing. Was just about to say the same thing. I read about 200 pages before bed last night and right now all I want to do is read some more of it.

Haven't been as drunk as i was last night in a long time. Holy hell was I blitzed. I remember winning bar trivia and then dancing for quite some time. That's about it.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 13, 2012 -> 04:39 PM) If you say so. Dude just said he'd rather have Deng than Carmelo. And I'm the troll? That's like me saying Joakim Noah > Dwight Howard. Take that garbage anywhere else and he'd get banned. And you claimed AK47 is better than Deng. I know there is no way in hell you believe that.
