  1. QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Jun 2, 2011 -> 10:27 AM) A little early to be drunk isn't it? Not for me.
  2. I remember him cutting off a ball in right center, spinning, and gunning a guy out at second. That is the only thing I remember about his play in center.
  3. QUOTE (forrestg @ Jun 2, 2011 -> 10:04 AM) When Alexei came up does anyone remember him playing centerfield. If my memory serves me right he made some unique plays in center. I thought he did ok. I'm sure no one on the team could play short as well unless it would be Visquel. Can anyone else remember the few times he was trotted out to center? m in aI'd like to see him in another game at that position. We play Rios a lot because we don't have another true centerfielder. I'm more interested in what is going on in the bolded section than the content of the post.
  4. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jun 1, 2011 -> 09:37 PM) The argument is from a few days ago, but why's it so disputable that the 2010 Bulls were a better defensive team than the 2010 Heat? And yes, in the playoffs? They were. That the Bulls lost to the Heat is irrelevant. The Bulls defense doesn't play the Heat's defense. Thank you, thought I was going crazy being the only one that thought the Bulls are/were better defensively.
  5. For some reason I just thought of Jesus Pena. Remember him? That dude was crazy.
  6. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 1, 2011 -> 12:40 AM) This. Most are in denial. I never hated LeBron because I thought he was such a rotten person. I hated LeBron because he didn't choose Chicago. I don't think anybody here would've had a problem with the Decision if LeBron had said he was taking his talents to the Windy City. I'm over that. He's the best player in the league. And now he's got guns instead of butter knives. It's a wrap for the rest of the NBA for the time being. They're the '08 Celtics on steroids. Ok, because I think the Bulls were a better defensive team makes me in denial? The Heat are and were the better team and Lebron is the best player in on the planet, but I do think the Bulls were better defensively. The heat scored over 100 only once in the series and under 90 three times. Holding a team with that kind of firepower under 90 three out of 5 games in impressive to me, of course holding the Mavericks to 84 tonight is also impressive. I'm not saying the Heat suck or anything, just that I believe they are by very slightly the second best defensive team in the league. Pairing that with the best offensive team in the league is usually a pretty sound way to get yourself a ring, which I believe they will do. Although I hope they don't
  7. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 31, 2011 -> 11:25 PM) The Bulls weren't good offensively because of the Heat's stifling defense. Or was it just coincidence Rose shot 35%? It wasn't a coincidence but having no other offensive players certainly doesn't help. The Bulls slowed down two players that are better offensively than Rose and one that is certainly a damn good scorer to keep the games close. The Heat are awesome at defense but saying they are the best since the 1990's Bulls looks a bit silly with a team that was arguably better in this same season.
  8. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 31, 2011 -> 11:14 PM) Not in the playoffs, obviously. How? The Bulls were not good offensively. Equal Offenses and the Bulls win the series in 4.
  9. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 31, 2011 -> 10:59 PM) This Heat defense is as good as any I've seen since the late 90's Bulls. It's a wrap. Heat for the next 5 years. The 2010-2011 Bulls defense was better than the Heat's.
  10. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 31, 2011 -> 08:29 PM) For years? No. I can't see that. He's basically on what Loaiza/Contreras were on. I don't think Humber is a guy that can do this for the next 5 years. But ride his ass as long as he's hot. Why not? He's got pretty solid stuff and good command.
  11. QUOTE (knightni @ May 31, 2011 -> 02:07 AM) FYI - This thread is the largest thread in Soxtalk history. If this thread was still with the other pre-Decision NBA thread it would have over 17,000 replies.
  12. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ May 27, 2011 -> 03:42 PM) Your avatar may raise some eyebrows if you use that as your ID pic. psssh that's what I really look like.
  13. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 27, 2011 -> 03:24 PM) TSA took it too far last time I flew simply because of this thread. I think I lost my anal virginity. This is why I ride the train. This damn thread.
  14. Happy Birthday! Haven't you had enough of these yet? Share the wealth.
  15. QUOTE (Brian @ May 27, 2011 -> 02:41 AM) I have learned to stay out of game threads. Took awhile, but I have learned. Any thread over 5 pages I assume is just going in circles.
  16. Pale Hose Talk scares me half the time. I tend to stay out of it. I am generally frustrated enough by the team.
  17. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 27, 2011 -> 01:01 AM) Nobody was more excited than me. But man, he f***ing sucks right now. He's like Juan Pierre bad. I agree, I just don't know why I don't care about his failings while I have roughly two heart attacks a week about Rios, Pierre, and Beckham.
  18. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 27, 2011 -> 12:37 AM) I was, of course, watching the Bulls game. I caught the first two innings or so. Dunn struck out 4 times? Good god he sucks. This. Yet I still am not worried about him or am any less excited about him being on the sox for some reason.
  19. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ May 26, 2011 -> 11:57 PM) The Bears losing to the Pack at home in the NFC Champ game easily kicks this one in the ass... Maybe because I never believed in the Bears this season or because I hate this Miami team at least 20,000 times more than I hate the Packers, but this is so much worse.
  20. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 26, 2011 -> 11:03 PM) I know their defense does not compare to the Bulls, although I think I'd prefer Chandler over Noah at this point. But their offense is clicking and on fire. They have 5 guys who can easily put up 20 points, while the Bulls only had 3, and that s a huge difference. Plus, DRose got shut down by LeBron's height, that won't work on Dirk. It should be a good, exciting series. I don't want Cuban to win a title, but it's better than LeBron winning. I'd love to see Cuban get a title. That f***er loves the Mavericks.
  21. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ May 26, 2011 -> 10:54 PM) It's a lot worse for me. This is the most devastated I can ever remember feeling about a sports team. At 14 years old it hurts worse I think. I am completely devastated right now. If I didn't have a job interview in the morning I'd probably have to drink heavily.
  22. This feels a lot like the 2000 White Sox made me feel.
