QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 29, 2011 -> 12:59 PM) Up until last year, I used to attend a buddy's yearly Draft Party, and it was a f***ing blast. Drinking games based on what was said, great food, just an all around good time. The drinking rules were hilarious. Now, it is ruined. I do this with the NBA draft. Good Times. -

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 29, 2011 -> 12:33 PM) The draft doesn't pick back up until 5pm tonight? God I hate this bulls***. They need to bring back Saturday/Sunday. I don't know how anyone watches it. BORING. -
Jose Valentin hit a ball literally into my seat once when I went a concession stand. My friend just leaned over and picked it up.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 29, 2011 -> 12:00 AM) I was pretty similar to this. I hated the trade from the get go because I thought Brandon Allen had more value than an average reliever at the time(though I never thought Allen would be a legit major league starter) but I really thought Pena was going to turn it around here, boy was I wrong. I liked him last year. Now I hate the guy.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 28, 2011 -> 11:11 PM) Lakers and Heat actually. I still think the Thunder will win the West because of the Lakers being banged up but I can't see them beating the Bulls in a 7 game series. If the Lakers can get almost all the way healthy, they can still obviously beat anyone. And I've flip flopped on the Heat a couple times this season but overall, even though I don't think they have that killer instinct, I just don't have it in me to count out a team with that much freakin talent. This is what I believe to be true as well.

Tonight was just a fantastic night of basketball.

QUOTE (knightni @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 06:48 PM) So... I'm working on the May wallpaper and I discovered something unfortunate. It's a bad idea to do a Google image search for "old baseball glove" even in with moderate filter settings. PS don't do this at work if you decide to disregard my warning. You have been warned. Of course I searched it. I really didn't see anything but old baseball gloves though.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 12:18 PM) As awful and frustrating as Boozer has been, we're going to need him to win a championship, so hopefully he gets healthy and gets his s*** together. I'm also hoping that Orlando can win game 6 to give the Bulls bodies a little more time to heal. I really couldn't care less who we play next round as neither team will give us too much trouble but I want the extra rest for our guys. It doesn't matter how long that series lasts. Game 1 will be on monday.

San Antonio is in serious trouble now. The Grizzlies are really taking it to them.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Apr 25, 2011 -> 11:13 AM) LOL. There's the bias. Thank you for being rational. They are almost identical hits.

Awesome game for CP3 and big win for the Hornets. Lakers looked extremely frustrated.
-
Time to see what CP3 is made of here. Up 2 points heading into the 4th.

Can anyone tell me why the lower seeds in hockey seem to win a lot more than they do in basketball? It seems almost every year or so an 8 seed either beats the 1 seed or at least comes damn close while it is very rare in basketball(although the grizzlies have looked good so far). Is it just the nature of hockey or parity in the league or something else?

QUOTE (kev211 @ Apr 23, 2011 -> 09:37 PM) That's why I sucked it up and took 3 years in high school. Nothing in college for me thank god. Lucky you, Thankfully I didn't have to take it, but I tried one semester at ISU and didn't last two classes before the teacher told me I should drop it.

QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 22, 2011 -> 05:46 PM) Cool, lets squash it then. I apologize for prolonging Hudson or Ejack pt ii ORL-ATL tonight, who you guys got. ATL

QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 22, 2011 -> 03:52 PM) why i'll take rose http://www.82games.com/1011/CSORT11.HTM That and Rose's iso success and driving ability are special to his position. And frankly are the reason why i think he's one of those rare pg's that will lead his team to the championship as the main scoring threat. Mo Williams>Chris Paul.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Apr 22, 2011 -> 01:52 PM) You don't want to see what happens w/ Nancy now that it's all out in the open and with the police? Nope, I have no idea what you are talking about, I probably missed season 6 for all I know. edit: I just looked it up, yeah I stopped after season 5.

QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Apr 22, 2011 -> 03:35 PM) I never said I wouldn't trade Rose for Paul straightup. In fact, I even stated I wouldn't when the discussion first began unless both are the same age. The argument is who is the better player today. And it's Paul folks. You can continue to say this like it is a fact but I don't agree and I'd say most people don't agree. Even when they went head to head this season Rose clearly stood out.

QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 22, 2011 -> 01:59 PM) That hit was "bad" but the Deng hit was embarrassing. He should be fined for that one. That Rose hit I somewhat come to expect. I agree, the Deng hit was the only one that really seemed completely out of line. The others were just hard fouls. It is the playoffs after all.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 22, 2011 -> 01:45 PM) I'm making perfect sense. You just don't want to see it because you're a homer. When folks bring up efficiency in regards to players like Nash and Paul, we hear, "Well, they don't shoot and have to score as much as Rose, if they did, their efficiency wouldn't be as high." Well, look at LeBron, Wade and even a Kevin Durant. They both shoot and score A LOT and maintain elite efficiency. It's impressive for Wade, but Lebron is an enormous man and should be able to score efficiently.
