QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jan 5, 2011 -> 01:02 PM) Cavaliers offer job to homeless man with 'golden voice' " Gotta feel happy for the guy. I hope he takes advantage of this and things turn out well for him.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jan 5, 2011 -> 02:01 AM) Take advantage of the Watch Instantly movies. A great selection. For sure. I already watched a few episodes of The Office and some old Saturday Night Live episodes from the late 80's/early 90's. I love that it streams directly to my PS3.

I wonder if Michigan will try to go after Les Miles again... The people at LSU really don't like the guy, but he miraculously keeps winning so they can't fire him. Might be a way for both parties to move on. -
Well, I'm kind of addicted to Black Ops. Good thing I don't have anything to do this week b/c I played online for about 5 hours throughout the day yesterday. I'm sure that's not a lot compared to some people, but for me, that's a ton.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 4, 2011 -> 04:43 PM) I read this paragraph and though "Jay Cutler". I'm not just talking about record. I'm mean statistically and everything. Cutler played on some awful teams in the toughest conference in college football, and still managed to put up better passing numbers than Locker could ever do. Plus, Locker played on much better teams, in an easier conference, and with a very good offensive mind as his head coach. Cutler had none of those things at Vandy. Also, Locker regressed this year which is an awful sign. Further, I think a lot of my dislike for Locker is towards the fact that people were saying he should be the #1 pick when they thought he'd declare for the draft last year. That's absurd. If a team wants to take him in the 2nd or 3rd round, it's worth a shot. It always is with these types that have all the "tools." But he's not 1st round worthy, and that's a fact.

Just got a subscription to Netflix. I'm pumped. I might need to take the semester off from school to catch up on all my TV show and movie watching...

QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jan 4, 2011 -> 04:05 PM) I knew that was a disaster from the moment they made the pick. Agreed. I always thought he was one of the most overrated players I had ever watched.

I guess I missed a lot in this thread over the last 12 hours or so, so some thoughts: - If Luck declares, I agree that Denver will try to move up 1 spot and take him. Not sure they should, but apparently Elway loves the kid. Who will take Tebow, though? I guess the Bills are an option, from what I read. - This QB class is definitely the best in the last few years. Not sure why people would question that. Locker sucks, though. Can't figure out why people are so enamored with him. Yes, he has plenty of physical tools, but he consistently underperformed throughout his career. I hate guys like that. I'd put money on the fact that he won't be good in the NFL. - Also, what's the deal with Mallett? I keep reading that many NFL teams won't "touch him with a 10 ft pole." He sure looks damn good to me on the field, so I'm assuming there is some off-field stuff that has been kept quiet.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 4, 2011 -> 10:22 AM) Stanford went up early for an extended period of time in that game. Led at the half and was rolling through most of the 1st half until Oregon hit. And you don't go up as big as Stanford went early by being a chump team Sounds eerily similar to our game against Oregon. Tennessee was up 13-3 over Oregon with 4:30 left in the 2nd Quarter "until Oregon hit" -
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 3, 2011 -> 11:28 AM) F***ing first workout back after X-Mas, ugh. I can't wait to get back into the T-RECs. I don't belong to a gym anywhere in Memphis since I'm hardly ever here, so it's been killing me being away.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Jan 1, 2011 -> 08:24 PM) I'm just really tired of, and bored with FPS games. See, I've never gotten into those types of games until about a month ago when I borrowed Modern Warefare II from one of my roommates. So, now, I'm kind of addicted. My whole life up until this point, I've really only played sports games (other than Golden Eye back in the day). Oh, and so far Black Ops is awesome. I'll put it this way: Within 10 minutes of playing it, my brother already decided he was going to buy Black Ops so he could have it as well.

Just played a little bit of the new Medal of Honor with my brother. I like it a lot so far, but it was even cooler b/c my brother-in-law was providing extra details/analysis about Afghanistan (where this game takes place) b/c he was there for over a year. And I can't wait to play Call of Duty: Black Ops. I got it for Christmas but am waiting to get home to play it. I know it's made by a different company than Modern Warfare, which I'm a huge fan of, but I hope I like it just the same. There have been very mixed reviews, but I'll take my chances.

I ordered an Allagash White at dinner tonight, but they were out of it. I was pretty disappointed since I thought it would be cool to try my 1st new beer from this list.

QUOTE (knightni @ Dec 31, 2010 -> 07:17 PM) Phillips would be a step down from Kubiak. They're not talking about Phillips as the Head Coach, but rather as the DC.

QUOTE (zenryan @ Dec 31, 2010 -> 06:40 PM) Only logical explanation I can think of is Weis wanting to be a head coach again and he knows that only a college team would give him that chance. I agree. That's about the only situation I can gather why Weis would come back to the college level. He must have liked the coaching aspect of college football and want to be back in that environment. -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 31, 2010 -> 02:39 PM) Why would that mean the SEC is F***ed? He didn't exactly put out incredible teams at ND, even if they were solid on offense. Weis may not be a good Head Coach, but there is no question he's an awesome Offensive Coordinator. Look what he's done with the Chiefs in his only year there. Offense was never the problem at ND, and he certainly had really good offenses with the Patriots. He does a phenomenal job with QBs and brings a ton of experience to Florida. You give him the talent at Florida combined with his offensive system/know-how... It's scary. -

Charlie Weis to Florida as Offensive Coordinator??? Are you serious? Why the hell would he leave the NFL to take the same position as the college level? Great, the SEC is all f***ed. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?i...HICAGOHeadlines -

QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Dec 31, 2010 -> 12:41 PM) He's a hell of a player and Tennessee has a ton of young talent. I was just disappointed with Dooley's whining, and that was before the craziness of the end of the game. I'm surprised this isn't getting more play, but a reporter in the press box is saying that after the game, the UNC coaches "sprinted out of the box screaming 'Sloppy Top, Sloppy Top, you'll always be assholes to me!' You want to talk about disappointing? That's absurd and incredibly immature. Aren't coaches supposed to act with a little more class than that? -
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 31, 2010 -> 11:03 AM) News out of Houston seems to suggest that they'll be retaining Gary Kubiak for 1 more season but replacing their DC with Wade Phillips. That's been a big deal on talk radio around here (I'm in Houston) the last few days. I'm very surprised Kubiak seems to be staying as HC, as are most people. There is ZERO reason, whatsoever, that the Texans shouldn't have made the playoffs this year. They have boatloads of talent at multiple positions (except a weak secondary), so I think it's a poor coaching job by Kubiak. A team with a Pro Bowl caliber QB, RB, WR, TE (when healthy) and a solid O-line on offense should simply dominate. Plus, you have individuals on defense who are damn good as well - Mario Williams, Ryans (of course he missed 10 games), Cushing, Okoye. They need to add a few guys to their secondary, but other than that, this team could be very good.

QUOTE (Capn12 @ Dec 31, 2010 -> 10:18 AM) Maybe Tyler Bray will learn to do a little less 'saluting' next time around. Grow up, kid. The game ain't over until it is over. Yeah, I agree. I think his celebration was a little overboard at the end, but I've never seen him do anything like that before. Clearly his emotions got the best of him, but I'll chalk that up to him being a TRUE freshman. He's 18. I'd rather he show a little confidence/cockiness, though, than mope around so I'll take it even if it was dumb. -

QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Dec 30, 2010 -> 09:27 PM) Never realized how much of a whiny little b**** Dooley is at Tennessee. Wow. Ha, okay... That ending was bulls*** and you know it. Lucky f***ing rule saved your asses. NCAA needs a run-off on penalties like that. No excuse for there not to be. Oh, and on that long reception at the end, that was clearly not a helmet to helmet hit. -

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 29, 2010 -> 08:35 PM) Illini crush Baylor. OSU trying to save the Big 12 from embarrassment tonight. I was at the Texas Bowl tonight. Illinois was just too dominant on both lines, and I must say, Leshoure is legit. I think we all knew that but watching him in person, reading the blocks and.then accelerating through the hole was a real treat. I don't see how he won't be successful in the NFL. And unfortunately for Illinois, he'd be dumb to come back to school. I don't see how he could have a better season than this. The defense also came up huge today, and while Griffin had a big game, that was expected, and Illinois limited the rest of the players, which is exactly what they needed to do. Only complaint is that the mid- and deep-middle were open all day for Baylor. If Griffin had connected with a few open receivers, it could have been a whole different ball game. But, Illinois took advantage of that, and that's what winning teams do. Also, I think I was the only person in the stadium not fooled by Scheelhaase's TD run at the end of the game. I loved the play call. -
QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Dec 29, 2010 -> 11:14 AM) I always tell anyone who'll listen that we lost that SB a few years ago because we lost Mike Brown and Tommie Harris You might have that in green, but I firmly believe the Bears would have won that game with those two healthy. But, injuries are apart of the game and good teams fight through them.

QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Dec 29, 2010 -> 01:50 PM) A non biased opinion here. I don't think he caught it, but I don't know if there was enough to overturn it due to the ruling on the field. The camera angles just werent there on that one. Agreed. -
QUOTE (Felix @ Dec 26, 2010 -> 08:14 AM) Well aware, and it's incredibly amusing and really annoying at the same time. If you read this thread, you'd be convinced that every ref in the NBA has a personal vendetta against the Chicago Bulls and will do everything within their power to prevent the Bulls from ever being successful again. You mean they aren't?
