harris is still hitting the ball in the air and from watching him play CF against the cubs id rather have HSC out there in cf ...the dude is weak in cf...and his arm...weak weak weak...if rowand cant go and they send borchard down we got to come up with another option other than harris... ill play cf.. depending on whos at 2 and on the mound.. gotta have an incentive for me being out there and not being able to see maggs ass..........lol......... classic HSC

Exactly, we do not NEED a third catcher. A veteran and a rookie are enough to keep us going. Hopefully, its gonna be Rios, Graffanino, Daubach, Alomar, and Harris/Miles. An extra infielder is alot more useful than a catcher thats gonna catch probably once every two weeks. the thrid catcher is a wasted spot..unless of course one of your atchers is named sandy alomar...wtf was KW thinking here???....sandy was great in his day but god dammit we know he will go on the DL and because of that he have to carry an extra player that sux...the best move would be if sandy went on the DL during ST..he could then act as a bench coach to MO and we keep paul as the 2nd catcher so we dont lose him to another team.. we cant let paul go to another team..then have sandy go on the DL and its olivo and burke as the catchers...that would precipitate a mid season trade for a back up catcher and would cost an arm and a leg... Put Paul on waivers and send him down, if he gets claimed so be it. If Alomar goes on the Dl for an extended period of time we will have to make a trade anyway. I know I would not want to see Paul as the regular backup,he sucks defensively and doesn't have much of a bat either. Nuke, I'm right with you. JP is not needed and there is no need to carry an extra player in case Alomar gets hurt. IF he does, they'll call someone up, most likely JP because I don't think he will be claimed. Anyone claiming him would have to put him on their 25-man roster. Plus, even if someone claims him, so what..... If Burke or Morales aren't good enough, there are a dozen veteran catchers in AAA every year that have Big League experience. A trade for a backup catcher is not expensive. Lastly, keep in mind that the likelihood of Sandy getting hurt is lessened because he will play less. He is not going to be the everyday guy so injuries should be much less frequent. The only problem with this scenario is if Miguel is overmatched and isn't ready for Chicago. I know he is not hitting well right now, but unless he is just terrible, I believe the other things he does will allow them to give him the chance to grow in Chicago rather than Charlotte. rex..manuel keeps insisting sandy will be the starting catcher...it was reported by steve stone yesterday that jerry told him sandy is number 1...i find the whole situation bizarre myself...ill never understandf letting MJ go with no one to replace him

bingo... This is all about NK's power crisis, Kim Jong get's US/Russia/Japan to agree to establish a nucler power plant (that would be financed by the US and allies) NK solves there power crisis, Jong agrees to hand over all his nuclear material. Jong saves his country billions of dollars and get's the UN off his back. But if Bush keeps ignoring him, he won't get s*** and may do something stupid. So it's either give him what he wants or put the little s*** in his place. really i havent a clue what the right course of action is with this guy...do we sit down and appease him or not..it depends on if we think he wil lreally use nukes...he has been saying for 20 years now he will nuke new york , washington, chicago and LA (were always number 3 !!!)..but will he really do it?? lets hope the intel and recent phych profiles we have on this guy are accurate so the administration can make an informed decision
-
kim jong il has totally screwed over his country..economically they are ruined and the only thing they have to export is...nukes...they will try and sell um before they use um...thats what this is all about...il wants to get the US to the negoiating table so he can try and get us to give them aid and open up trade in exchange for them to quite with the nuke crap

loiaza as number 5 sounds good to me..

Yeah, but think of all that oil. the US and the UK have signed promises with the UN not to touch iraqi oil I've been called naive a lot for my anti-war feelings. But to think American businessmen won't go after what could be the largest untapped oil reserve in world is almost ridiculously naive. Wait.... Take the almost out. why are you calling me naive??...all i said was the US and the UK signed an agreement with the UN that says they will not touch iraqi oil....how doe that make me niave???..i gave no opinion on it either way
-
CIA released documents today warning US soldiers about to go into iraq that al qaeda forces are in iraq right now and have been using iraq to train since the mid 90's...they are in iraqi cities right now waiting to take on any infiltraitors..the CIA feels that it will be the al qaeda forces that use chemical and bio weapons ...this was reported on both foxnews and MSNBC..i didnt check if it was on CNN just in case you guys on the left still want proof

Yeah, but think of all that oil. the US and the UK have signed promises with the UN not to touch iraqi oil

i can see why these churches are springing up...i left the catholic church a long time ago...a lot of people feel they sold out their beliefs for money...i went to catholic mass 2 years ago for the christening of my niece...it must have been atleast 15 years since i stepped foot in a catholic church... this is what it has become...you go to a catholic mass now its no longer about salvation and being closer to god..its about how the evil republicans have cut so many government programs that they have put a huge burden on the catholic church to pick up all the funding for these charities and because of that every parrishioner must give 37.50 this week for each member of his or her family for the church to meet its financial obligations...thats all the preist talked about...1/2 hour was devoted to the history of the catholic church in northern dupage county and how its financial responsibilities have grown..the other half hour was blasting the republicans..then , and im serious, he asked for 37.50 from each parishioner... is it any wonder there are catholics who long for the old days???...i joined the conservative baptists after leaving the catholic church..im sureif i was in mel gibson's place some reporter would have done the same to me...the conservative baptists broke away from the american baptist church in the 60's because they felt the church was compromising its principles...the big split came over women ministers...the conservative baptists believe the man heads the family...so in the family of the church a man must be a minister...my church takes a pre- modernization look to it just like gibson's id need to here gibson side of this before i could really comment..i do know mel has stated that he asked this reporter not to talk to his father because his father has alzhiemers and the reporter not only didnt honor that request but failed to acknowledge it in this article..which leads me to believe his motives arnt pure.. as a displaced catholic i can relate to mel...if he feels he is closer to god in what most of us consider a wierd religion then more power to him..whatever floats your boat

my biggest problem with manuel is i feel he doesnt stand up to his boss...he's a yes man....could you imagine if sweet lou was our manager and KW came down and decided to make the 25 man roster out of ST, traded away a player w/o consulting lou or coming into the clubhouse and ripping on players (even if lofton and clayton deserved it)????...it would take 4 guys to pry lou's hands off of KW's neck JHC manuel is 55 years old and KW 38...manuel should tell him to shut the hell up and dont ever tell me i have to play this guy , or blast my players..or whatever the situation is.. the field manager should habdle al lthe day to day operations...if the GM doesnt have confidence in the field manager to do that then he should fire him amd put someone in charge that he does have confidence in... i cant respect any manager that wont stand up to his boss when he feels his boss is wrong
-
because he won 16 and 19 games and it builds good will for the future..renue him at only 400k this year and it makes it harder to sign him long term...buehrle goes arbitration the next 3 years and he keeps improving the sox will wish they did sign him long term when they had the chance look at billy bean..he got all three of his money pitchers signed before he had too...follow his lead KW

How many multi-home run games do you think...
baggio202 replied to BridgeportHeather's topic in Pale Hose Talk
ill say maggs hits 42 homers with zero multi homer games..and we go 42 -0 in games where maggs homers also maggs wont win the homer title...ill go with 48 by big frank...what the hell..gotta dream big -
Hard to tell at this point. The worst thing that could have happened for the Bears was 2001's 13-3 season with Jim Miller as the QB. While they should have been one of the teams courting Drew Bledsoe, they figured-----we went 13-3 with JM..... we don't need DB-----and decided to go with a glorified second-stringer and a potato chip as his back-up. Now, after a 4-12 2002 campaign, they let JM go when there is no real market for proven starting QB's. Pathetic. excellent analysis..thats the bears...day late and a dollar short

Uh yeah....why take the risk? Get Colon signed long term atleast at midseason, and Buehrle in the same time period as well. And if Thomas has a good year...I wouldn't even f*** around with his mutual options. I'd lock him up as well. We'll also have to look at Maggs before too long as well....I can't frickin believe he'll make $14 mill in 2004....that's huge, and too damn much in the new CBA....he'd have to be in the top friggin 10(unincluding Yankees) i got a feeling...i hope im wrong but if we do ink buehrle and colon long term and frank kicks ass so we renue him too maggs could end up the odd man out..especially if borchard ends up on the sox and really takes off...unless we go to the series i dont think JR will pay for all 4 of the guys...its not that we cant afford it..i think we could resign everyone at a total of 70 - 75 million but i dont see JR letting that happen...our only hope is he realizes he is getting old and cant take the money with him and decides iots time to get that world series before he dies..chances of that happening???
-
buehrle wants a 4 year deal like zito got..sox offered a 3 year deal..thats the hang up.. i heard somewhere the sox will renew buehrle at around 400k should no deal be reached
-
not stupid at all I am with you 100% on this. griffey hit 3 home runs today..he ,like frank, spent the entire off season working his ass off...he is in store for a big year imo..if you look at what this team needs in the outfield and line up..left handed power hitting right in the middle and a proven top defensive CF to make up for lee ..griffey is a perfect fit.. lee for griffey..if cincy was that stupid i would personally put carlos lee on my back and carry him to cincy to finalize that deal
-
we have been waiting for that since the end of the 99 season....if we trade him and he puts up big numbers more power to him..if lee played good defense and could situational hit , make productive outs , ect...you know help the team when he is not hitting then id be fine waiting for him to find himself..but im just out of patience with this guy...if we traded him tomorrow id throw a big party
-
if this is true then KW should ink him long term now...cause if he improves on what he did last year the price will only go up
-
maybe we should add carlos lee going the whole season without getting picked off
-
we couldnt get anything for ginter..but i think gary glover has some tradability...if ginter can outpitch glover we very well could trade gary..maybe get a legit back up catcher or something like that
