  1. Masset didn't pitch poor enough for a loss, even if he did give up 3 ER. Teams with lineups like ours, outscore teams like the Twins 8-3, especially with mediocre pitching on the mound. And IMO it all needs to start with Orlando Cabrera waking the **** up.
  2. With fields playing 2B, we could have possibly the most HR hit by a club in MLB history with that lineup.
  3. fields doesn't have the range to play 2B, which is sad because fatboy Uribe seemingly does.
  4. IMO the biggest disappointment on this team, and the most guilty player... offensively, is Orlando Cabrera. I can't count on two hands how many times he's come up with Swisher on base, and yet it takes a Thome double or HR to drive Swish in from 1st. OC hasn't done **** for this team this year, so far.
  5. QUOTE (frankie5angels @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 03:00 PM) Everyone who thinks this team is in a slump is not being realistic. This team hasn't hit for a couple of seasons now, slumps don't last that long. I think it's time to realize that the players we have on offense just aren't very good. They are old and slow and I think this year is gonna be just like last year in terms of hitting. We will be better in the starting pitching and bullpen, but hitting wise, this is the team we are stuck with. OLD? Hardly. Slow? I can't disagree with you there, though I don't think it has much to do with why we're not hitting the baseball.
  6. QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 02:38 PM) BA steal? he should've taken off on the second pitch, nathan pitching from the wind up too, well... maybe not the wind up but has a very high leg kick
  7. nathan gonna make BA look silly right here. edit: BA owned me! come on AJ.
  8. ball game. yeah we still have 3 outs left, but lol. 3 game losing streak to the 12-14 twins. these are games that good teams win, i'll just put that out there.
  9. QUOTE (Bhay99 @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 02:15 PM) nice 3-2 fastball right down the middle boone http://a1984.v10869d.c10869.g.vm.akamaistr...262313_400K.wmv pitch was at his chin.
  10. Could you have thrown a worse pitch to a guy with 2 outs, nobody on first and the RISP standing on 3rd base? Why didn't they go with the offspeed out of the strikezone and see if he'd chase it? Now they're IBB Cuddyer to get to JASON KUBEL, are you serious? Why not put Morneau on to get to a hitter that's less capable than Kubel, Cuddyer? Terrible managing.
  11. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 02:10 PM) One of Moreanau or Mauer is going to do something that the middle of Sox order is unable to do, come thorugh in the clutch. i'm feelin it
  12. Boone getting squeezed by this dipsh** ump.
  13. masset and thornton both look great so far this year. definitely pitching well enough to win games the only blame anyone should be giving anyone is to our pathetic offense.
  14. haven't seen this before, crede not being able to lay off curveballs in the dirt? say it ain't so. edit: they were sliders, but breaking pitches none the less.
  15. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 01:35 PM) I'd believe it. Masset hits 94 when he's got his stuff, which he did. And Thornton has hit 98 before, albeit rarely. perhaps, though i haven't seen either of them hit those speeds all year until tonight i watch the gun readings religiously every game
  16. twinkies gun had masset throwing 94mph out of the stretch, and has thornton throwing 97mph seems a little juiced
  17. Nice redeemer Swish, for your GIDP in the last at-bat. Tie game
  18. Toby Hall destroyed that ball. Too bad Delmon Young is from god damn KENYA.
  19. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 01:16 PM) I have had enough of Brian Anderson bring up Owens good riddance BA! lol, BA is 1-2 today.
  20. what's aggravating is our offense is built to support a poor pitching staff, not a great one like we currently have
  21. Terrible play by Crede. Wake the f*** up, dude. You need to be aware of where the gd ball is at all times. Thank god Toby was blocking the plate.
  22. 3-0 to Mauer with Morneau on deck. Gonna get ugly, folks!
  23. 3-2 twins. Not like I didn't see this coming or anything.
  24. gotta love artificial surfaces. ball just bounced over crede like a goddamn basketball. the walk scores.
  25. check this out, Blackburns pitch selection to Jim, JD, Carlos, and Crede: Thome: Slider Changeup Curveball Slider JD: Slider Changeup Slider Slider CQ: Curveball Slider Curveball Crede: Slider Fastball Slider Fastball He threw two fastballs in 15 pitches, and the reasoning behind the two fastballs probably has a lot to do with the fact he just gave up a dinger.
