I have a feeling this might be the last year of Joe B in Chicago if Ozzie has his say. He is basicly the opposite of the type of player Ozzie wants.

The only thing that kills me abouit Jose is his strikeouts. I can live witha low average if he puts the ball into play. Were his K's always this bad, or were they overlokked because of this horrendous D that he has since improved?

Agreed. Maybe Valentin will be gone next year and he can strike out for some other team.

Jose rally impressed me last night. I know a couple of a pitchers have been shelled after rain delays, I think MB a couple times, Contreras got it done.

I think Ozzie and KW could be a very good team. KW is a very smart man and most of his trades have been on the money. If he could go out and get some guys that Ozzie could manage well, "grinders" per sey, we couold have a winning combination. Over the next couple years, we could have an overhaul of speed, defense, and average.

Crede was always a very highly touteted prospect, and still think he can be a greeta player one day. Maybe this offseason something will get to him and he will come out next year swingin. His defense is very solid, and we need defensive help wherever we can get. He just needs to raise the average 30-40 points and hed be a damn good player.

Yeah, that was what it was like back when I registered, wich was justa little while after you. We had 'HeatherTheRedbird' and not very many posters back then. Things have changed a lot.

I definetly can understand what you are saying, but also it could be good that people know the true story, so that people are not coming up with rumors about what happened. Also, we can know what happened without having to speculate, which might just be better off.

That is a VERY excellent post. Kudos. You bring up a good point at the end with the players we should sign. I believe those types of batters would work well with Guillen and fit his style of managing better than a ton of power hitters. What I wouldn't give to see Pierre here, but that could be a longshot. Willie is NOT a suitable stand-in for Pierre or another true leadoff hitter unless we see some drastiuc changes. He has potential, be he must turn that potential into talent.

IMO, this is good to be out in the open. It isn't getting heated at all and I think that this is allowing people grow and become more knowledgable about the boards and acceptable behavior. I think that a lot of people can learn from what is being said in this thread.

You could add Big Ben Davis to the list after another homer tonight. The man comes in hitting below.100 and now he's making a lot of people forget about Olivo...for the time being. Hopefully hes got something real going for him, rather than just a hot streak. He is ripped though, and I bet he can hit the ball a mile.

That is a great point. I am not sure what the deal is with him, but he was a good bullpen arm, a big need that we have. I'd be interestied in heraering what the situation actually was with him, because if it was some minor crap, GM Ken would have some explainin to do.
