  1. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Sep 8, 2014 -> 03:09 PM) Are you saying that you didn't see the things I mentioned? Yes, I saw them both being drunk and stupid. Are you saying that you didn't see her doing anything?
  2. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Sep 8, 2014 -> 03:06 PM) Did you watch the video? In the lobby or hall, I see Rice provoke her by sticking his face out like he was going to do something to her. Then in the elevator, he does the same thing then smacks at her face before she moves in and gets knocked out. Then you just have a different opinion about it, I dunno what to tell you.
  3. QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 8, 2014 -> 03:04 PM) I really have a hard time understanding how this isn't justification. You are, you may not think you aren't, but you are. Oh get over it, im telling you for like the 10th time I don't think he was justified and I don't think what he did was right. My observation from the video was that, I don't think it makes what he did ok.
  4. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Sep 8, 2014 -> 02:51 PM) How can you tell she was being annoying in that video? Did you not watch it? She was throwing her hand in his face when they were in the lobby, and then getting all confrontational with him in the elevator. And this is without even being able to hear what was being said. As it has already been pointed out multiple times, it doesn't justify at all what Ray Rice did. Its just an observation from the video.
  5. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Sep 8, 2014 -> 01:01 PM) I think 10 game suspension is enough. I would have been fine with 16 too. That was a case about making a terrible, life-taking decision. It's not like it was premeditated or in the heat of a fight or anything. He got drunk and drove. And the other guy was drunk and allowed it. So a 10 game suspension is enough for "accidentally" killing someone, but Ray Rice should be suspended a year or more for hitting a woman?
  6. QUOTE (scs787 @ Sep 8, 2014 -> 12:58 PM) So, what does one make of the Miami RB situation? What about Sproles? In one of my leagues I have all 3 and McCoy (And Gore). Would it be wrong to start both McCoy and Sproles or Miller and Moreno depending on matchups? Moreno got 24 carries, Miller got 11 carries. Miller was used more in the passing game. I feel like that's going to be the workload split going forward. They want to use both backs.
  7. QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 8, 2014 -> 12:54 PM) Listen, this isn't the victim olympics. Just because this other terrible event happened that you think is being underappreciated doesn't mean another terrible event is unimportant. But you almost certainly will not gain support for your view by justifying domestic violence. You can say that's not what you were doing, but you were quite clearly saying Ray Rice's incident was not that bad because his wife was being drunk and annoying. Drunk driving in the NFL has a terrible history, as does this country. The Leonard Little era was disgusting. But there is likely less outrage for Brent because he did face criminal charges. Ray manipulated his way out of the charges, and the league showed way too much support for him. This also happens to be a common situation for victims of domestic violence, whereas victims of drunk driving tend to get the sympathy they deserve. People don't act like it was their fault. I never said Ray Rice's incident wasn't that bad. If you watched the video, you saw his wife stumbling around trying to walk, slapping at Rice, and getting in his face. Was she drunk? Pretty clearly. Was she being annoying? Pretty clearly. Dont take my comments describing what I saw as trying to say it was OK for Ray Rice to knock her out. Killing someone is worse than hitting a woman, pretty cut and dry. Josh Brent serving 6 months in jail and only getting suspended 10 games is a joke compared to the attention Ray Rice is getting. I am already seeing rumors that he might get cut over the video, gimme a break.
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 8, 2014 -> 12:52 PM) But you kinda did justify it, you said she was annoying. The only role that word serves in that sentence is to offer some justification. You can take what I said however you want, I think I made it pretty clear that Ray Rice was in the wrong and you shouldn't hit a woman, much less anyone really.
  9. QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 8, 2014 -> 12:15 PM) What is going through your head when you write this? What I saw in the video. Doesn't mean Ray Rice is justified in what he did. Point is, people are making a bigger deal about Ray Rice over the guy who killed someone and for some reason will be back on the field and playing this season. Sorry, you can be disgusted by Rice all you want but its not even close to the Josh Brent thing.
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 8, 2014 -> 12:10 PM) How many people out there would have their jobs back after a felony conviction and six months out of work? I know I wouldn't. And then your Boss complains that your suspension was too long
  11. Why is there a public uproar over Ray Rice knocking out his annoying drunk wife but no one says anything about Josh Brent KILLING someone and only getting suspended 10 games, never mind only having to spend 6 months in jail. You shouldn't hit a woman and I have no respect for Ray Rice, but its a bigger travesty that Josh Brent will be back on the field earning his millions in 11 weeks.
  12. QUOTE (ptatc @ Sep 5, 2014 -> 05:41 PM) The coaches quote was they wanted to get him 20 touches a game so tat's why they went with him on kickoffs. But Spiller vs. the Bears defense is tempting. I'm leaning towards Bell as his work is supposed to increase this year due to Bush being worn down at the end of last year. Yeah remember last year when they said they wanted to give Spiller the ball till he threw up. Yikes. Spiller is just way too hit or miss for me, against a Bears team with an elite offense and what should be an improved defense. If the Bills get down early I could see Fred Jackson getting most of the run in that game.
  13. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Sep 5, 2014 -> 02:57 PM) I dunno, Spiller vs the Bears rush D might not be a bad play either. I get the feeling that the Bills coaching staff doesn't like Spiller. For one, hes returning kicks now. Two, they tried to trade up for Carlos Hyde. Three, they DID trade a 4th to the Eagles for Bryce Brown. Five, they signed Anthony Dixon this offseason. And of course Fred Jackson is still there. Last year, Bell and Bush were pretty much dead even in fantasy points for PPR leagues. Plus, you never know when Bush is going to get banged up.
  14. QUOTE (ptatc @ Sep 5, 2014 -> 02:18 PM) Spiller or J. Bell from Detroit in a PPR league for RB2. I prefer Bell
  15. QUOTE (chw42 @ Sep 5, 2014 -> 10:49 AM) I run out of the I-form a lot. Good play action, plus you get a blocker up the middle on runs. It's great for grinding out the clock in MUT. I got Alfred Morris in MUT, so when its time to grind out the clock I just set it to chew clock mode and run dive after dive after dive.
  16. QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 5, 2014 -> 11:41 AM) Sorry, Ellington owners Did I miss something? I saw he was having an MRI on his foot and planned to play, but thats still the only news I see
  17. QUOTE (scs787 @ Sep 5, 2014 -> 11:43 AM) Danny Woodhead was dropped in one of my leagues (By a guy who is new to FF)....Should I pick him up over Terrence West or MJD? It's of course a PPR league. Absolutely.. drop MJD
  18. QUOTE (chw42 @ Sep 4, 2014 -> 09:57 AM) Except for those times your own blockers get in your way. I had a screen play yesterday result in a fumble because Tony Fiametta thought it'd be a good idea to run into Jay Cutler while he was throwing the screen. It's like the AI thinks they can use your own players to play defense. Not to mention the numerous times where the FB would block a hole I was going to run through up the middle, resulting in at least 4-5 less yards. Other than that, good game so far. Fullback? Do you have it set on 1990's mode? Get with the times man.
  19. I had Manning last year and he put up 68 points for me in that game. I still almost lost my matchup, I only won by like 5 points and that was with being spotted 68.
  20. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Sep 5, 2014 -> 08:18 AM) That would be awesome. Not just because I own Josh Gordon in my most important league, but he was a blast to watch play last year. And because both of those suspensions are pretty much bulls***. Yeah basically what I saw was Amphetamines would be moved out of the PED category, which would reinstate Welker. And then the threshold for a failed marijuana test would be raised, and since Gordon failed his test by the smallest possible margin, his test would not have been a failure under new rules.
  21. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Sep 5, 2014 -> 08:06 AM) I saw that and it mentioned Welker wouldn't have been suspended either, but I did not see anywhere that it mentioned the suspensions would be retroactively rescinded. I took it to be more of a going forward policy. Either way, I still am hanging on to Gordon in my deep league until I need the roster spot or he officially announces he is not going to attempt to sue to play What I read said that since its a negotiation between the NFL and Players Union they could have part of the negotiations be that its retroactive. Plus, the NFL really wants this HGH testing so it wouldnt surprise me if they gave up that to get the deal done.
  22. I dont know if anyone saw this or not, but Josh Gordon might have a chance to be reinstated and miss no time at all this year. The NFL and NFLPA are about to agree to HGH testing with some changing of the rules for drug testing which would include raising the fail limit for marijuana tests which would make Gordons failed test, not failed, and thus no longer suspended.
  23. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Sep 4, 2014 -> 09:27 PM) Problem is, just when you start depending on him, he'll get hurt. In terms of lineup, you shouldn't have regrets Week 1. If Eddie Lacy finishes this game with a stinker, I wouldn't feel bad. Seeing Seattle force feed the ball to Harvin is a shock to me and I really regret pretty much bypassing him. I get he is still a big injury risk, but damn, hes gonna put up some serious PPR points if they use him like this all year.
  24. I already feel sick to my stomach watching Harvin get all these touches. I dropped him down my rankings because of the injury concerns but damn, the guy is going to beast if he stays healthy.
  25. QUOTE (StRoostifer @ Sep 4, 2014 -> 03:33 PM) I make no sense? I'm not the one clamoring about how a player COULD have hit had he played. And you refer to me as Nostradamus? Again, you're complaining about an MLB player only hitting .240 while clammouring for a player that hit AAA pitching to the tune of .199 claiming he could have hit better at the MLB level? Going back to ST, Gillaspie is a lefty batting in a lefty deficient lineup as well as having over 450 plate appearances in 2013, Davidson to Charlotte made perfect sense. Davidson was sent down with the intention of likely calling him up at some point given injuries happen ( and did to Gillaspie) and players struggle. Problem is that Davidson went to Charlotte and s*** his pampers. If in fact Davidson was dissapointed over being sent to Charlotte to start the season then that's his fault because nobody from the Sox front office ever said Davidson WOULD make the MLB roster out of ST. Believe it or not I like Davidson and since he's only 23 I've not given up on him but he has plenty to work on yet. Plate discipline and pitch recognition are the first things that come to mind. You either have a problem reading, or comprehending.. I don't know which one it is. I never "clamored" how Davidson could have done. Ive said multiple times we will never know how he would have done because he didn't get the opportunity to. For a team that knew they were going to be throwing away 2014 and rebuilding, what sense does it make to play Gillaspie fresh off his .245 season with no real attractive tools over Davidson when you look at what he did at the end of 2013 plus ST (Where he batted quite well). If he stunk it up in ST, I could understand that. Its not about what I think he would have done, he should have been given the opportunity based of the teams situation and the fact that Gillaspie is nothing more than a situational player and will never be anything more than that. .245 hitter last year, .267 hitter this year outside of 2 months. Guy cant play everyday, sorry, but that's FACT.
