so let me get this straight.. if a 13 year old has sex with a 13 year old... its fine BUT if a 13 year old has sex with a 27 year old, the kid is f***ed for life?? HMM..
-
QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Feb 10, 2005 -> 12:21 AM) Well, back when I was in 8th grade, banging the attractive 27 year old female would have only turned you into a legend, and not a basketcase in need of a psychiatrist. Is it absolutely pathetic that a 27 year old woman would participate in sexual intercourse with an 8th grader? You're damn right. Is the kid gonna need a psychiatrist? Hahahahahaaa!!!! I don't think so. my thoughts exactly

QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 10:36 PM) He was raped, whether she used force or not. This woman was placed in a position of trust and power over this boy and she abused both of those. Imagine if your first relationship (sexual or whatever) was based on such a mismatched power dynamic. The reason that this kind of things are illegal is because it takes sex out of the realm of intimacy and makes it about power and control. I don't know how anyone can just walk away from that. Child sexual abuse is child sexual abuse--regardless of how the victim responds to the abuse. Using that logic, if a kid who is molested by his priest but doesn't say no, or doesn't run away does that mean he won't have problems later? No. First of all, no woman will ever have power over me and second, your still getting off from what I was trying to ask Jeckle.. Yes I understand that it was "Rape" either way.. but if the boy WANTED to do it, and wasnt forced into doing it I dont see why he would have problems later on in life.. I understand what your saying though, its just not exactly what Im trying to get at here.. and uhh.. i dont know what boy WOULDNT say no to having some old guy touching his goodies

I just hope Digger will stop riding UNC's nuts now and just admit Illinois is the best team in the Nation -
QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 10:03 PM) 13 year olds cannot legally give consent. So, the article didn't have to say it. The law does. that has nothing to do with what I said if the kid was like saying no and was forced to do it, then yeah he might have problems if he WASNT then I cant agree with what Jeckle is saying

QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 09:32 PM) Glad i'm not the only one who thinks this is just as serious as if a Man did it. Mark my words this kid is going to need Therapy and at the very least he's going to have screwed up relationships with women. Why do you say that, hes 13 He can think and make decisions, did the article say he was raped?

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 04:32 PM) I'd give them next years 1st and 4th along with this years 3rd. but why?? of course it would be nice to have both.. Bears dont even have a 3rd this year.. so that wouldnt work 3 picks for a rookie is steep, especially one thats an OLB and not a HUGE impact player like a QB or LT also, I doubt a top 15 team is gonna move their first.. they are picking that high for a reason and will need that top pick wishful thinking, but I think the Bears will be happy with the WR they take

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 08:48 AM) Anyone see Paris on SNL this past weekend? Talk about a total 'poser'. She acts like every time she's in front of a camera that it's actually a shoot for like Penthouse. Nothing is ever just a normal expression or movement with her. Her eys, her voice, her body, her walk, it's always SOOOOOO oversexed. Who buys into that crap?

wow... what a slap in the face

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 03:23 PM) I'd trade next seasons 1st round pick for Derrick Johnson. If that's all it would take, which i highly doubt. exactly... the point is what team is gonna say "Here, have our top 10 1st round pick this year and well take yours next year not gonna happen... a 2nd this year is worth a 1st next year... so it would be have to be a 1st PLUS and I doubt they would do that
-
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 03:11 PM) I meant it's weird in the sence that a team would use the franchise tag on a kicker but in the Patriots current situation franchising Vinatieri makes a lot of sense. yeah I know what you mean.. but he is worth the cost
-
QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Feb 8, 2005 -> 03:26 PM) Well they could...anything can happen. But they'd have to give up an insane package to get another top 10 pick(possibly another top 5 pick, because I have seen comparisons of Johnson to Ray Lewis, only at OLB, noting that he is that good), and that would be stupid as hell. Scott Wright has Johnson going at 16, and I don't think there is a chance of that happening...not even close, nor do I think he is going to be the second OLB taken(though Merriman is listed as an OLB/DE). Basically, I view both Williams and Johnson as top 10 picks, to whoever. The Bears might get one, but not a chance(if they are smart) at both. For the Bears to have any chance at getting BOTH those players it would take their 1st Round Pick NEXT draft and maybe more So pretty much theres no chance in hell it can happen
-
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 01:42 PM) Espn's John Clayton reported last night on SportsCenter that the Patriots will likely franchise K Adam Vinatieri. Kind of odd franchising a kicker but he is a Hall of Famer. if they have no one else that they cant sign or worried about losing its not as odd as it sounds Patriots dont have a ton of must keep guys in FA this year, so it wouldnt be too strange

QUOTE(He_Gawn @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 02:52 PM) I only got to see the last half and if MOS says he wasnt nervous, then hes bandwagon. Hell, I was nervous and I hate both teams. Bandwagon?? that doesnt even make any sense, I didnt just "jump" onto Illinois Ive been an illinois fan forever Krush, dont f***ing tell me what I know and dont know.. You can sit there and be worried all you want but I knew we were gonna pull it out, so just shut up.. saying I dont know jacks*** because I wasnt worried is f***ing stupid The whole time I said "just watch well pull it together and win it" said that from the whole second half on.. If you wanna sit there and tell me I dont know s*** because I wasnt being a little b**** and worrying and sweating it out like you, you can keep that to yourself.. Sorry Krush, I dont get worried down 8 with 15 f***ing minutes left in the game -
QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 12:10 PM) About the money, IMO. I think this sucks. Why would you want to leave USC? Doesn't make sense to me. Why wouldnt you wanna leave USC? its the NFL, you've already won 2 National Titles.. you've already been said to be the best game planner in the NCAA.. Whats the point of staying at USC, hes got nothing else to prove.. Not only will he get paid more, he can now try to win a Super Bowl.. and if he is as great as they make it seem, hes got a good shot.. With Steve McNair prolly hanging it up soon hell get to put his QB skills into a young kid when the time comes, plus he is running the offense.. When you have done all that there is to do at one level, its time to move to the next

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 9, 2005 -> 12:12 PM) I honestly believe you are identifing symptoms and not the root cause there. WHY did their shooting go cold? They couldn't get into anykind of a rythm on offense because Michigan juiced the shot clock everytime they got the ball. They forced the Illini to play defense for 25-30 seconds everytime, which anyone will tell you is much harder than running offense. After a while it tires you out and takes your legs out from under your jumpshot if you aren't concentrating harder on O. It can also change the pace of the game in your mind and makes you want to run up the floor and rush shots you wouldn't usually take. I think the Illini have been a victim of the first part of that their last two games. Ill agree with that somewhat as well.. but I still think it had more to do with the defense and the fact that our shooting went ice cold.. an 11 minute drought is quite some time without a basket, Ide think its more along the lines of bad shots and tough defense then it is their legs being tired and lack of concentration... but after reading what you just posted I do see what you mean and agree that it prolly did play a part in it as well as these other factors..
