New House
Kap, for what it's worth, I used Satellite INternet on the cruise ship and it worked perfectly fine, in the Caribbean. It probably is expensive like Southsider said, but you shouldn't worry much about quality. Only problem would most likely be thunderstorms which you'll have a lot of down in Texas. Oh, and congratulations on the new house!!!

Aaron Rowand = future team captian
Call me a crazy asshole, because I know it's coming... but for some reason whenever I think of Rowand now, I think of "future superstar". Like, 30 HR, 120 RBI, 30 SB, .320 AVG kinda stuff. Even though I don't see it possible, Aaron could be an excellent 3 or 4 hole hitter.

Is re-signing Jose really that bad of an Idea?
Oh my God, can you IMAGINE Cleveland with Carlos Guillen? They'd be right up there with Minny, easily. Anywho, I'm on the Renteria bandwagon, but since there's a .0001% chance of that ever happening, I'd be very happy with Vizquel or if we still had to use Uribe that is still fine.

Beat the Tribe: August 28, 2004 Game Thread
Hawk and DJ were hilarious when Tadano came in to pitch. I was laughing my ass off. Great game pitched by the Count. Very VERY nice. I love this trade.

Ross Gload
Well excuuuuse me. Perhaps you should stop being a stubborn fool. Gload is a quality player and there's no doubt in my mind he'd hit .280-.300 for us if he started. Every time he starts he's always spraying the ball somewhere.

Lee's Injured
At least our word isn't as unreliable as the Cubs organizations word.

Thanks for Olivo..
Olivo isn't more talented. Davis has had a world of talent that Olivo couldn't even dream of. Olivo's just performed better so far.

Lee's Injured
http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb...s_cws&fext=.jsp Lee, Garcia injuries not serious Both expected to return to field early next week By Scott Merkin / MLB.com Carlos Lee (right) suffered a slight groin strain Wednesday in Detroit. (Brian Kersey/AP) CLEVELAND -- Even with the White Sox's drive for the American League Central title stalled, starting Friday night eight games behind the front-running Minnesota Twins, the South Siders are keeping things interesting. Their 14-run outburst Thursday marked the 20th time this season the White Sox have scored in double-digits, tying St. Louis for the Major League lead. On the opposite end of the spectrum, Josh Stewart became the seventh pitcher to fail in an attempt to anchor the fifth starter's slot in the starting rotation, a black hole now featuring a 2-11 record with an 11.07 ERA. Then, there are the injuries. From Magglio Ordonez to Frank Thomas to Scott Schoeneweis, manager Ozzie Guillen has not been working with a full roster since late May. Add two more key cogs to that list as of Friday, in left fielder Carlos Lee and pitcher Freddy Garcia. But Guillen believes neither injury will require extensive time away from the field. Lee hurt himself Wednesday in Detroit, trying to throw out Dimitri Young at the plate on Marcus Thames' eighth-inning single. When Lee planted to make the throw, his right leg slipped on the wet grass and caused a slight groin strain. Guillen listed Lee as day-to-day, even checking with the injured outfielder prior to inserting Ross Gload into the starting lineup against left-hander C.C. Sabathia on Friday. Lee thinks the time off is a little more certain. "Maybe four or five days," said Lee, meaning he probably won't play this weekend at Jacobs Field. "It could have been worse. My leg went one way and the other leg slipped and went the other way." According to Lee, the injury is not high up in the muscle, making it easier for a quick recovery. The location of Garcia's injury also is important in Guillen's eyes, leading the White Sox manager to believe there's currently no possibility for elbow problems to surface. Garcia was scratched from his Friday start late Thursday with tightness in his right forearm, replaced on the mound by minor league callup Jason Grilli. It was a similar sort of soreness experienced by Houston's Andy Pettitte originally, before he was shut down for the season recently with elbow problems. But Guillen mentioned Friday that Garcia's soreness is on the top of his arm and not the muscle underneath, which could lead to elbow discomfort. He also said that Garcia already had improved from the day before. Freddy Garcia / P Born: 06/10/76 Height: 6'4" Weight: 240 lbs Bats: R / Throws: R More info: Player page Stats | Splits Team Site "As a matter of fact, it's a lot better today," said Guillen of Garcia. "He was disappointed that he couldn't start, but that's part of the game. I don't want to take a chance, a risk, to get him worse and get him to the point where he can't pitch anymore for the rest of the season. "He's just a little tight. It's not a big deal. He just has tightness on the top, not on the muscle that's attached to the elbow. That's why we're not really worried about it." Guillen expects Garcia to throw on the sideline either Saturday or Sunday and be back on the mound Tuesday night, when the White Sox open a three-game home series against Barry Zito and the Oakland A's. With Garcia's 7-0 record and 2.92 ERA in eight starts during the day, Garcia seems like a perfect fit to pitch Monday afternoon's makeup game against Philadelphia. Instead, left-hander Mark Buehrle gets the call against a lineup featuring tough left-handed outs such as Bobby Abreu and Jim Thome. "I didn't think about that, we might," said Guillen of Garcia working Monday afternoon. "But I don't know because Buehrle doesn't like to pitch with (five) days off and all this stuff. I think we'll just keep it the same way." Missing Lee and his 11-game hitting streak for more than one game would seem to be another severe blow suffered by the White Sox offense. Lee is hitting .413 with three home runs and 10 RBIs during his recent run. Gload had three hits and two RBIs as Lee's replacement Thursday, and the White Sox produced their highest run total of August. Guillen made very few adjustments to Thursday's successful formula, substituting Jamie Burke for Ben Davis behind the plate and putting Joe Crede at third base with Juan Uribe moving to shortstop. "I wanted to keep Uribe in the lineup," Guillen said. "He and [Aaron] Rowand are swinging the bats the best." "The lineup will be fine," Lee added with a smile. "They scored 14 runs last night without me, so you don't want to mess with it."

Actually, you're wrong. Orange Slice is still alive and kicking. My friend had a few cases of it at his house.

Go Argentina!
Don't you tell me to stop that. I loved basketball back in the day, but now it is CLOGGED with these rap gangsters with tatoos, crazy f***ing hair, and horrible attitudes. The NBA is just a big pile of bulls*** now, laced with corn. And God damnit if I can't say that I hate the way the NBA is now, and I hate all the "atheletes" in it, then there is something wrong with the way things are.

Why doesn't Willie start every game at 2b or CF?
Yeah, that. Don't not play Borchard, there isn't a reason to. ALso, don't play Robbie, there isn't a reason too. I'm discouraged with Ozzie playing robbie the past few days. My guess is he's complaining about playing time. We should really put Robbie through waivers and try to get rid of him.

Ross Gload
Last night I was talking to Apu about how I wouldn't mind seeing Gload a starter if something happened to Paulie. Gloads playing great, and I think if he were more of a starter, that his average would be .300 easily.

You know I've been wondering the exact same thing for a long time, just never asked... Now after simply searching "acronyms" in Google, the first link was an acronym database, and ESPN is: ESPN Entertainment and Sports Programming Network

Se il mio amor a tutta la mia vita
cw... I'm really gonna miss your posts on here, however I understand your viewpoint and why you can't return. Reading your post really brought a tear to my eye, I know a lot of the younger posters here consider you as a father figure of sorts, like Beastly, and myself even. You're a great influence on every poster. I really do hope you keep in touch. If I ever see you on AIM again, I'll IM you and talk. I don't know your email, but thats yours and is private. Please know that tons of the posters here still hold you in high regard no matter what you may have done, no respect is lost here. I gained ultimate respect from you when we first clashed- me bashing Eminem. You replied, non provokingly and I just couldn't help but go, "Wow, now there's a guy I know I'll respect for a long long time." By the way, I hope to still meet you in the future at a Sox game. Even though it would look weird you talking to a long haird teenager. Oh, and I'm gonna keep you in the Shingo fan club whether you like it or not!!!

Dante's Inferno Test
http://www.4degreez.com/misc/dante-inferno-test.mv I got this The wretched King Minos has decided your fate. His tale wraps around his body 8 times. The sweet light no longer strikes against your eyes. Your shade has been banished to... the Eigth Level of Hell - the Malebolge! Eigth Level of Hell - the Malebolge Many and varied sinners suffer eternally in the multi-leveled Malebolge, an ampitheatre-shapped pit of despair Wholly of stone and of an iron colour: Those guilty of fraudulence and malice; the seducers and pimps, who are whipped by horned demons; the hypocrites, who struggle to walk in lead-lined cloaks; the barraters, who are ducked in boiling pitch by demons known as the Malebranche. The simonists, wedged into stone holes, and whose feet are licked by flames, kick and writhe desperately. The magicians, diviners, fortune tellers, and panderers are all here, as are the thieves. Some wallow in human excrement. Serpents writhe and wrap around men, sometimes fusing into each other. Bodies are torn apart. When you arrive, you will want to put your hands over your ears because of the lamentations of the sinners here, who are afflicted with scabs like leprosy, and lay sick on the ground, furiously scratching their skin off with their nails. Indeed, justice divine doth smite them with its hammer. That's pretty bad...

Why are they trying to hype the Sox/Phillies game?
Every day Hawk is hyping the game as the game which decides which league gets bragging rights. AL won like 126 and NL won like 125. As far as I'm concerned, they're dead even but if 1 or 2 digits mean that much then whatever.

Game Chat
Yep, we can all laugh at how owned Grilli is gonna be. Also, I have new ideas for the chatroom regarding it being used when there aren't games as well. More details in the future.
