Interesting that you didn't like Weeks this season. The hype around him still seems really high despite the bad year. Weeks, Gwynn, and Nelson all didn't have good batting averages. It will be something to look for next season.

Dusty Baker. Let's put it this way: When Baker put in Remlinger in the 8th when the Braves took the lead I said to my dad, "Uh oh, Dusty Baker is making a pitching change. He must be wrong." First batter JD Drew hits a 2 run double and goes on to score, 8-6 Braves. Lack of a closer- Borowski sucks and Hawkins can't save a game for his life. Lack of consistent hitting- They have a lot of power guys like the White Sox, but nobody on base to keep a consistent lineup. As us White Sox fans have found out the hard way, power hitters go through hot and cold slumps. The Cubs' offense hit a cold slump at the end of the season. Obviously, I would be foolish not to mention the early injuries in the season. However, the same can be said for the Astros.

Also, LSU continues to show they are nothing without a QB. 24-0 Georgia. A good day so far. ND, LSU, and West Virginia either already lost or are in the middle of getting whooped. Virginia Tech proves that West Virginia is way overrated and has no place near the top 10. 19-13. Just because they are the best team in a BCS conference doesn't make them a top 10 team, and besides the Big East shouldn't be a BCS conference.

Sisler got 10 hits in his last 5 games. He would have easily gotten 2 hits in 6 games.

This poll came to mind when I was playing football with my friends and had a bit of a sibling fight on the field. One of the kids lives right by the field we were playing at so his younger brother came by. So the younger brother was blocking the older one, who was rushing the QB. The older brother was getting pissed so he tackled his younger brother, who basically just took it as older bro picking on him again. This coming from a mild mannered kid no less. I was surprised to see this. I go up to the younger one and say, "I'll be QB and throw the ball at his nuts." I was obviously kidding. Next play he tackles him again and they start going at it on the ground because the younger brother wasn't gonna take it. So he punches him right in the balls and the older brother is rolling on the ground in pain. Justice was served. As an only child I always tend to side with the younger siblings because I don't see why they need to be picked on. I was just curious where everyone lies in their family.

Can it just be called a modern era record? I don't see why this gets no consideration just because it held. I don't mean to take away from Ichiro, but Sisler would still have the record had his season been 8 games longer.

Funny thing about that is that I used dictionary.com because I wasn't sure. Needless to say their definition of moot did not give me what I wanted.

I say this deserves an asterisk if ever one was deserved. George Sisler 154 games, Ichiro 160 (won't include 2 to go). In something as common as a hit this record would not be if Sisler played a full schedule. Ichiro has had a sick year, but I am aggervated that no one has mentioned this fact, yet for HRs (which are much more rare) it was a big stink. The media: :rolly
