  1. Typical New York. It's hilarious, and whether it's affecting Pedro or not the Yankees are pounding him.
  2. People, realize that the curse involves winning the WS. They lost to Cincinnati and the Mets (Buckner) in recent years yet the curse still exists. Thus they have to win the WS to break the 'curse'.
  3. No, Boston's curse involves not winning the World Series. They've been their recent years and haven't won yet there still is a "curse". More fun stats: The only time the Yankees lost 4 in a row this season: in April when the Sox, White (1 game) and Red (3), combined to beat the Yanks 4 in a row.
  4. Random meaningless stat: The Yankees lineup gets paid about $97.5 million. They scored 11 runs in the last 4 games. That's just under $9 million per run. As I said this is statistically meaningless and has no meaning, but I just thought I'd throw some numbers out there, lol.
  5. I didn't say I liked it. I hate the Yankees a ton, just hate Boston more. The point is that Steinbrenner is going to buy the free agent market... :puke
  6. You Yankee haters better f***ing hope the Yankees win tonight. I was rooting against the Red Sox and this is just ridiculous. The f***ing White Sox could have won one f***ing game out of 4, pathetic. Steinbrenner has every right to buy every f***ing free agent. Pavano and Beltran will be Yankees next year if the Yanks lose this one. Even if they win you never know, but it's just more motivation to overpay.
  7. If Wisconsin comes into the game with a loss, I won't be surprised if Iowa pulls it out. But the Badgers will have too much on the line. As a Northwestern fan I shouldn't be saying teams don't lose those games. 2 straight years Michigan, thanks to Tim Biakabutuka, destroyed Ohio St. giving NU a Rose Bowl appearance and a share of the Big Ten title back to back years. Also, on the other end, I saw Purdue destroy Indiana en route to Pasadena in 2000 taking away any glimmer of hope NU had at going to the Rose Bowl. As their reward for being co-Big Ten champs they got the f***ing Alamo Bowl, thank you very much bowl committees. Ahh... memories.
  8. Dolphins I feel pretty confident they can lose, but I could always save my Fins pick for later. The Browns are very likely to lose to the Eagles. Oh well, my theory going in was that I should just survive every week because these things don't last long.
  9. Normally I might agree with you, but teams don't lose those games. They usually come out pumped in the beginning and ride the roller coaster to victory. I see it every year in the Big Ten. Unless the other team is truely better (which doesn't apply here) the team that needs to win to win the conference or whatever will win.
  10. Danman31- Cardinals, 49ers, Bears, Bills, Raiders, Panthers Whitesox56789- Buccaneers, Cardinals, 49ers, Bears, Dolphins, Saints Greasywheels121- Colts, Titans, Bears, Raiders, Dolphins, Cowboys Chimpy2121- Giants, Buccaneers, Cardinals, Jaguars, Raiders, Panthers CS1 went down when the Texans won last week. So there are 4 left. We've all picked 6 losers, and now is the time when it pays off to have taken a good team playing a better team instead of just taking the worst team each week (me). I think I can manage though, I still have the Dolphins and Bucs left. These are the only players who can make picks. Picks must be in by kickoff Sunday. A duplicate pick, no pick, or pick of a team that wins knocks the player out of the competition.
  11. It looks like both games will head to extras.
  12. Don't do too much of this even though I know you will.
  13. I know, bunch of freaking spammers and losers. It's college football season damnit!
  14. If I get a ball there is no way I'm throwing it back...period. I might throw the ball to the ground in disgust if it was a big HR in a big game, but I wouldn't throw it back to the field of play. Then again, if it was that situation I would probably never pick up the ball unless it was right to my lap.
  15. 22 year olds that have had 2 good seasons already in the majors don't grow on trees. Konerko would be more proven, thus they would be close to equal. And what did Ainsworth do this season? Nothing. He is not near as valuable as Williams.
  16. Jason, Jerome Williams would likely cost a lot more than you may be anticipating. Are you willing to do Konerko/Lee for Williams and a minor leaguer? That's probably what I would be thinking if I'm the Giants, considering this guy's age and stats.
  17. I should add that my biggest beef about the Cubs is their fans, and that is probably one of the bigger differences between the two franchises. Both fan bases annoy me, but in much different ways.
  18. Which is what you would expect from an AL team as compared to an NL team. Different type of team (due to DH etc), yet for their respective leagues they are similar. The fans of Boston are more intelligent, cocky for no apparent reason, and whiny.
  19. Your reactions are as priceless as anything. We all have biases, it's what being a fan is all about. It's funny that you continue to laugh of us. If you don't like the Red Sox bias here, then you can go f*** off. If you can take it or at least ignore it, then by all means stay, you are a solid non Red Sox poster. I like how you always want us to give reasoning as to why we hate certain teams. You don't need reasons to hate a team. When you decide you like or don't like something you don't think, 'Wow, I hate the Yankees and Red Sox, they spend so much money, they win, they are whiny' etc. My point is that you just hate a team because you do. The reasoning comes later. Also, I find it funny how you seem to take it personally how you take offense when others dislike the Red Sox and make fun of them.
  20. Personally, I agree and think you are pathetic too! Oh, and I have only watched game 1 so far. I've seen a couple innings of game 4 now.
  21. Personally I prefer AL Cubs, but maybe that's just me.
  22. I picked the Panthers. I said, 'Panthers?' then said I really don't like my pick this week. Thus the question mark and smiley next to Panthers. Both the Panthers and Chargers lost anyway.
  23. Chimpy and I survive to play another week while CS1 is out due to the Texans beating the Titans.

    Team America

Agreed. It was still funny, but it wasn't very quotable. The montage song was great.
