  1. I almost, almost want the Cubs to lose by 1 here. Just to break the fans' hearts a bit more.
  2. He gawn! Cubs strand 2! The Cubs are done. They need to win out assuming they lose this one and then get 2 losses from both the Astros and Giants! Good luck with that!
  3. Anybody else watching this think that it would be hilarious to watch a couple Soxtalk rivals debate this way. I commend Bush and Kerry for not going fist to fist with each other.
  4. I haven't read much of this thread, and don't plan on getting involved, but I would like to see the following answered. Many have brought up examples of guys who struggled their first 50 or so ABs but turned out great. That's not the case here thus holds no strength. I want an example of someone who tore it up their first 50 or so ABs that turned out terrible.
  5. Well yeah, but that's KW's fault for paying so much for a pitcher that he should have known would struggle in this park.
  6. Agreed. I just don't like those round headlights, yeck. :puke
  7. Am I the only one that thinks that car is ugly? Slice of the front end please.
  8. I know his Kanny numbers weren't as great, I just wasn't sure how it worked. Thanks.
  9. What did we desperately need pitching for? Oh right, another one of those failed playoff runs. The fact of the matter is that we didn't get to the playoffs. That was why the Sox made the trade when they made it. Garcia has been solid on the road (5-1, 3.86) but terrible at home as you might expect (3-3, 5.37). What's really troubling to me about Garcia's home stats is that of our current rotation (Garcia, Buehrle, Garland, Contreras, Grilli) only Grilli has been worse.
  10. I tried asking a question about why BMac was so low. Do you guys know if the guys ahead of him on this list are simply better prospects or did they not factor in BMac's domination of the Carolina League?
  11. Why wasn't Hawkins this horrible with the Twins? We would have f***ing won the division if that prick was sucking. :fyou
  12. I don't know, but I was thinking that only guys who have played 1 full season of minor league baseball are eligible to be drafted. We don't want rookies that won't be in the league for years to be picked.
  13. Ok, ok settle down boys. I was merely asking for why people were voting for him. I didn't like him, and I said I was saddened that good posters were getting passed over for someone I didn't like. I wanted your reasoning for voting for him and got it. There was nothing ignorant about my post, I just wanted my question answered. Just because I don't like him doesn't mean everyone has to, that's obvious. Carry on...
  14. Made a bet with a friend $1 per Cubs vs. Sox wins, getting spotted 5 games. So if the Sox finish with 83 wins and the Cubs 90, I lose $2. However, I made a bet with a different guy just a few days ago that the Dodgers would make the playoffs. The idiot bet $5 that they wouldn't!
  15. You jackass! I was winning 9-8 yesterday so it's close. You are far from done with me my friend. Go Flairs!
  16. Just so we are clear on the minor league draft...how long are we going to be able to keep our players? Say we pick a player and he remains in the minors the following year what do we do?
  17. I'm saddened that cw is getting this. I disliked him before he left. I would like to know the rationale of why people are voting him over actually good posters.
  18. There was a different trillian. One had a number like 87 after "her" name. However, he could have been both.

Wow...3 pages...I look on the Slap board to find this thread at 3 pages. My reaction? "Only at Soxtalk can such a spam thread about a post count turn into 3 pages of utterless spam." And 33 posts per day?!!! I thought my 5 per day was a ton!

*Checks post total* Phew, only 3,500. That's not too bad...yet
  21. You're right that is crazy. Maybe if you switch Konerko and Lee to different teams it could work. Kotchman will be the Angels 1B next season. The Orioles, IMO, have enough hitting after getting Lopez and Tejada this offseason, so they would be looking for pitching not a hitter like Lee. And they wouldn't want to give pitching away. Not to say they wouldn't take Lee if the right deal came up, but don't look for them to deal pitching for hitting this offseason. The other teams would not make those trades. The Angels might want Lee for Guillen but I don't see why the Sox would necessarily want that. It's a bit of a sideways step for the Sox if you ask me.
  22. I know! I read the thread title and was like, 'whoa, that's a big deal'. I read the story to find out it's '09. I'll forget and be told time and time again before that happens.
