I want to say Peters is currently the MLB outfield leader in the two main defensive stats (which I don't know the names of, runs saved and some other acronym). He's really, really, really good out there. May not be flashy, but he's killing it.

This is an important point. Given how bad this staff is, how many arms would we have needed to acquire at the deadline to become serious World Series contenders? 2-3 high quality 2/3 starters, a couple bullpen arms capable of consistently surviving high leverage outings, and a catcher who can hit the ball but also play decent defense? I mean, you can't keep Acuna on a WS contender so we'd have to find a replacement for him, I'd imagine. Do y'all realize we could have emptied out our top 10 prospects and probably still not have a true contending roster? Why the hell would we sacrifice 3-4 top prospects who likely end up in MLB just to win the Central this year? Y'all would be calling for Getz's head come October when the Sox don't even make it out of the ALDS...."HE SACRIFICED OUR FUTURE FOR THIS????"

Doyle, with all his wiggles, waggles, and toe work, is like a golfer who has watched way too many YouTube golf videos. I firmly believe he’s fixable. Get rid of the gimmicks and trust his talent. Give him the Vargas treatment.

I mean, Peter’s has to be a flash in the pan, right? Right? I feel crazy looking at his goofy ass batting stance and thinking this dude has staying power. But in the other hand, we’re nearing the end of August and he’s still going. Not only is he still going, he’s made adjustments to the adjustments the league made. This guy should be nothing more than a late inning defensive replacement given his history. wtf is happening?

A lot of this is driven by all the time Will refused to drop him down in the line-up. He's still too high, coming up to bat with runners on way too often.

To add to the tired comment, MLB should not allow teams to play greater than 2 weeks straight. They were supposed to be off last Thursday but had to makeup with that Braves game. I don’t know how you solve it, but this is brutal on any team.

These guys look beat tired. You can see the slump spreading in their expressions.

Would you rather watch this? I don’t personally care about velocity if you can get the ball over the plate, show a capability to earn a QS, and eat some innings. Thorpe was not bad when he was healthy.
