Since the trade deadline (Aug 1) they’ve gone on an offensive tear — entering play a week ago they ranked tied for 1st in wRC+, 1st in home runs, tied for 2nd in runs, and 1st in OPS across MLB, a total 180 from the punchless offense they had most of the season.

Which makes it especially tough with how top-heavy our system is. We’re not deep enough where you can trade away our #8-9 prospect + lottery tickets for anyone worth a s%*#.

Getz kept the farm fully intact and picked up an arm that, for all intents and purposes, cost a shitty RP and a farmhand. It’s not about this year. Never was about this year.
